  1. I turned mine right side out after hang drying inside out over night, still wet but yes, they shrank up a lot. I'll compare to the given measurements tonight to see if they're done or if I have to "borrow" my Mum's dryer. Did a quick comparison with my LVC '55 and lying flat the legs are the same width, top block is much roomier of course, but I think the fit will be great. Denim is very soft and folding lines have almost disappeared on their own.

By the way, any ideas on how to protect other clothes from the buckle prongs once we start to just throw them in with the rest of our laundry? (Part of the buckle has apparently been pressing on the patch on my pair when in the wash, too, some indigo transfer occurred). Just keeping the buckle closed would work I guess, I left it open for the first wash so the denim could shrink freely.

  2. I've aligned the waist, just didn't pull that hard, so should still have measured more than 38cm if they were over tag size raw... I also tried them on briefly and the waist was pretty spot on, if not a bit tight even. They felt like a freshly washed pair that needs half an hour of wear to stretch back to perfect again.

  3. I'm returning the 76 as we speak and ordered another 30 and a 31 from Levi's (25% code still works), will report back with measurements also.

And yeah I have a feeling both the 47 and 66 might turn out too small too, but it'll give me a chance to look at the denim at least to decide if they even interest me ;)

(got the Tcb 20s incoming also, will be standing Knee deep in five BNWT pairs this week :D)

  4. Regarding my 1976 sizing problems: Cultizm replied that while most LVC nowadays shrink to tag size the 76 does not and is indeed almost too small when raw, people need to size up one or even two in their experience. Maybe there are two versions of the jeans or newer runs are sized differently? This is quite maddening...

Would be interesting to compare to a 76 bought from Levi's directly, curious what b_f's findings will be.

  5. I don't plan on keeping all three, I just wanted to make use of the free shipping and returns from Levis.com to compare the three cuts that interest me the most. I got  size 30 in all three since I thought those models would all shrink to tag nowadays

The 1976 fit fine in the waist now, so maybe they'd be alright after all once they sit lower and stretch back to raw eventually (or with a little manual help when still wet)...
