    I don't think you've got anything to worry about in that respect.. their other 'sold' listing is a ¥3000 BR tee, it's too random and too low value to be (japanese) shady. The previous seller had immaculate feedback, i can't figure out a reason why the sale has been passed over to a different seller but i'm 100% certain that it has.. there is a strong possibility that both sellers are the same person, with a different user name.. which is why i suggest keeping an eye out for the goodies which could be about to get listed. I never paid much attention either.. it was just that i revisited a pair of green tab Hawaii i'd seen listed and when i checked the (low feedback) seller for a second time it was like early 2000s Toyo heavan! What i thought was the most interesting.. was a random person has access to 80+ units of 25yr old stock, they must have owned a store because there was a lot of duplicates and the sizing was random so it wasn't a personal collection up for sale.

    Indeed.. that pair was ¥29k a few weeks ago Keep an eye on the seller.. i know they have 0 feedback but back in November this person.. Sakana-kun ...only had a couple of random sales then within a few weeks they listed a massive inventory of early 2000s era Sugarcane and BR.. all in DS condition.. Hawaii's with green tabs, Oki's with red tabs and a random pair of new without tags, Valencia 201s for £220 Julians pair were listed as part of this inventory, it's the exact same words and photos.     $9 is cheap enough if the value is lowered.. i stopped buying clothes in 2019, i think the last purchase was the Junky-46s, i've still been buying stuffs from Japan but i've tried to keep everything under out £135 limit for border charges. The DS SC-47s, i purchased recently cost £150ish then i was hit with a further £30 in shipping costs and an additional £60+ in border charges, making a reasonably priced pair of jeans very costly.. :(£240) I'd like to buy a handmade (est £1000+ once in a lifetime purchase) bike frame from JP (Mercari or Yahoo JDirect) one day but shipping charges jump significantly when the package is 1m+.. A bike frame measures around 1m from headtube to rear dropouts but add lots of packaging (at my request) and it'll be more like 1.2m, meaning it has to go FedEx at significant cost.. but it will still be worth it / doable when these costs are factored in.. what rules it out entirely is duty and vat.

    Thanks @OutSider it looks like a very good proxy service, trustpilot reviews are superb! I've just had a little poke around the site and found.. ..so what's the process for lowering the value? .. is it automated a'la Zen or do you have to request it from the staff? What are the fees?

    When i got up for work this morning there was a hand written note from my kid on the kitchen side "Hi Dad, We're making pasta.. mum knows" At some point in the night, my kid and whichever friends were staying over decided to make some pasta, the kitchen was an absolute bombsite, sink pilled high with pots and pans, some of the ingredients they've used (mince and such) we didn't have so they must have been to the shop at 12.30am.. there was half an onion on top of a kilner jar of flour.. chopped face down, olives on the floor, remnants of roughly chopped garlic on the chopping board and a tin of kidney beans they'd opened and not used? .. they'd used 4 pans to make a sauce ... it was total chaos, i just left it and went to work..

    It's a 'poor-mans' mahogany.. inasmuch as, there was an embargo put on mahogany in (i think) 2001 to stop illegal logging in SA.. after this time the timber merchants were looking for a replacement with similar characteristics / availability, eventually settling on poplar, i do have shit-loads of 20+ yr old mahogany in stock but i can't provide it as a material without documentation to prove it came from plantation sources.. I like poplar too.. it's a little less stable than mahogany and a little more prone to movement but it doesn't turn your hands purple when you're working with it... When we went to Brazil.. years ago, all the cheap hotel rooms are entirely furnished with mahogany, solid mahogany bed, wardrobes, doors, even the walls were clad with is, it was just the cheapest most abundant material

    Thanks.. the green is poplar / tulipwood, when i buy it, in rough sawn planks it's mainly a sandy colour with veins of green and to a lesser extent purple running through so i cut those 'character' bits out and save them for something special.. the other woods are mahogany, american white oak and ash, there is a construction post somewhere on the forum? .. but i can't find it

    Here's another blast from the past @tg76 2015 Denim Bruin Even i got a mention The bandana was a gift from Mr R .. same design as the blanket Masterson's Circle A. & Roy's 14/25 ..and a random postcard which Mr R sent me from his holiday in Honolulu 😍 I think Standard & Strange have the rights to hold future Denim Bruin events..

    Good luck! Just avoid the Dremel, heat will soften acetal which is why you can manipulate glasses in a heat box, but any kind of fast rotating friction (even with a soft polishing pad) will generate a lot of heat and risk melting them. Slowing the Dremel down just makes it ridiculously hard to control.

I got one of those LVC bandanas too.. cream and red with a bowling ball hitting a set of pins Anyone remember that English guy from DB.. he contributed a lot to the Circle A thread, from Tyne & Wear, worked for a brewery, rode a scooter, he was a really nice guy, migrated over here then disappeared soon after.

    Circle A was a great thread over on DB.. was that pair only available through Denimbro / contest pair? i can't quite remember.. Not really my cup of tea with the square back pockets but it was still a great thread with some great fades.

    I do this quite a lot.. not usually with acetate but with most other resins.. polyurethane, polycarb, acrylic ..ect Forget the Dremel, one false move and it's fked. If i was you i'd unscrew the arms and mask off the lenses front and back, then use 100grit sandpaper to create the desired shape, if you want it to be more of a chamfer than a rad, wrap the piece of sandpaper around a small block of wood.. bit of 1/4 ply or summat (1.5" long) .. get the shape right, then move to 320g sandpaper to remove the sanding marks, then 1000g wet n'dry, use it dry.. then 3000g wet n'dry keep dipping them in a bowl of warm soapy water the soap acts like a lubricant.. finally 6000g grit.. you can polish them back up with Brasso or T-Cut and for a super-polish, i use whitening toothpaste, keep them wet while doing so.. if you want a finished shine some resin car wax/polish works a treat. I wouldn't recommend any polishing machinery. If you find the acetate quite soft, use 240g instead of 100 and 600g instead of 320, you'll only know this by trying it.
