  1. ..if you're not adverse to MiC.. check out some of the Toyo/ SC sub brands, they're generally well made and cheap af ..these are Dickies-esque for $90 not 100% cotton tho.. https://zenmarket.jp/en/rakutenproduct.aspx?itemCode=gmmstore:10011554
  2. Hmm... you might have to venture outside our denim comfort zone and look at brands like EG, Beams, Universal Works, Folk, Norse Projects and such.. good luck with the high rise on a non repro pant
  3. Wicks it to where tho..? Yep, I’m a massive fan of the merino base, I’ve been wearing Woolpower for years.. just not a fan of sweating my ass off in an N1, it’s less to do with the wicking ability of Alpaca and more to do with the heat they generate when you’re active.. I had the same issue with my Woolrich arctic parka.. great standing still, terrible while moving.
  4. Yeah.. but I’m sure denim is more breathable than animal fur.. i’mean, we see @Broark wearing double denim in 40 degree heat, rarely do we see him in a 3/4 length grizzly, fox stole and coyote lined trapper hat.
  5. They’re not a warm jacket tho.. in fact, they make you feel quite cold and a bit clammy, hence why folks used to wear those thick knitted sweaters underneath.. ideal for Autumn here in the UK. 15 or so years ago, I had a Barbour, a Belstaff and a Mulholland.. then Barbour went through a massive revival here in the UK.. you would see entire families of Barbour wearers walking through the park.. mum, dad, kids.. all wearing Barbour, often with Hunter wellies.. invariably with a Labrador who would also wearing a Barbour doggy coat.. like Madonna and Guy Richey trying way too hard to be British.. the terraces were full of it which was the final nail in the coffin for me so I sold the lot.. now it’s just folks trying to project the country look like Farage or diehard sloanies.
  6. Are they all linked? Warriors also sold Gleem..
  7. I think they were the in house brand from ‘The Warriors’ store.. there have been numerous variations over the years.
  8. Don't start instigating conflict again.. i was almost asked to leave the thread last time.. the thread i started
  9. Lovely cars! I thought you was all socially conditioned to buy massive trucks?
  10. I didn't mean they don't hold up in the rain.. i actually think they're ok at keeping the water out. What i meant was.. walking around in a hot sweaty jacket with zero breathability, you have to open the buttons to let the heat out but if it's raining (as it often is here during jacket season) your sweater gets wet which makes the moisture issue worse..
  11. I did like my N-1 but they’re just impractical, perfect for what they’re designed for, standing onboard the deck of a cold ship.. but start moving around and you sweat like crazy, especially where the fur meets your neck.. you end up unbuttoned them to let the heat out, not ideal when it’s raining.. but like much of this mil-repro, it’s ideal for playing dress up, but doesn’t stand up against modern materials when you actually use it.
  12. You could ask them to remove the Eu tax for a UK sale, the tax would then be incurred at the UK border so you wouldn't be any worse off.
  13. Some nice garb there @tooth .. i like this style, my neighbours daughter and cat sitter is the embodiment of it.. lots of layers, lots of hand dying, lots of patching and repairs, lots of linen and shapeless knitwear.. i used to love looking at their washing line on her laundry day but rather than expensive brands, her style is either vintage or re-cut vintage where she has bought oversize menswear, unpicked the pattern and cut/sewed it into something that works for her.. alas, she now lives in a yoga retreat in Wales where she works as a gardener... 'gardening, commune, yoga, mindfulness chic'
  14. I've just updated my WH 506 flipbook with before and after wash photos ..here are some more post-wash photos besides
  15. It depends on the customs facility rather than the carrier.. EMS don’t care if you’re charged or not, they’re only paid to courier the item from Jpn to the Canadian border.
  16. EMS don't charter their own flights, they pay airlines to piggyback your goods in the spare cargo space of commercial flights.. therefore your items pass through the customs facility at Coventry (before they're collected by Parcelforce) which is fully automated, much like the drop box in Decathlon where you just clumsily dump an armful of items in the box and 3D scanners pick up the barcode / QR and weight. If it detects a customs fee a sticker is applied.. everything passed through this machine, there is no way to avoid it... FedEx, DHL et al.. use their own customs facilities.. i've never had any luck avoiding their fees either, i'd assume in this day and age, if Decathlon run a 3D QR scan, FexEx would too.. but maybe it's a bit more like the mailroom from Elf
  17. You could.. but then you would have to pay 10% Jpn consumption tax + domestic shipping cost +20% VAT +duty +international shipping +£12 admin charges by the courier... i mean! what the hell! it's cheaper just to fly to Japan
  18. What could be more worrying.. i've noticed a recent trend with Japanese retailers or bike parts to simply refuse to ship items when you select English language.. Unfortunately, we cannot ship ******* overseas. Due to the weak yen, These products are more reasonable to buy from Japan. However, from the perspective of overseas' ******* distributors, the retail price in Japan is so low that it is no longer fair to the overseas market. Lets hope purveyors of fine denim goods don't develop such a strong moral compass
