  4. fit check. guess the drip. context: this was for a high society jaksel (south jakarta) wedding at our moma (tiny) where the dress code was strictly all black except for the bride who wore white. i was the witness for the bride. later on i went to a cocktail bar still in the same outfit.
  5. post covid perhaps being used to only wearing shorts at home i start wearing only shorts out as well, and whatever tops ive already got, mostly tender shirts, local metal/hiphop crew tees, sometimes i would wear my keith lo bue caps (got a new one should update in the chapeaux thread), mf veste ouvrier when out in freezing malls, and my trippen booties (wearing these with shorts are what they were made for), still adhering to my adage of wearing expensive drip and looking like a bum *no viz
  6. happy birthday @CSL! did u wear a 60s cut for the big day?
  7. thanks so much @julian-wolf! found the sufu-related easter eggs yet? 😄
  8. unfortunately no. the book's got some sufu-approved specs such as a letterpressed cover so there's no plan to produce an e-book version. sorry 😌
  9. OMG u got a copy! thanks so much buddy @MJF9! which shop did u get it from in the end? there's a few sufu-related easter eggs in the book, enjoy! LOL. look forward to a review in the blunders and reflections thread

  15. last time i went to london (2019), soas and clutch offered totally different shopping experiences. soas was basically like a warehouse with racks and racks of stuff; clutch was like a whitebox gallery (there are many actual galleries around it), everything aesthetically mannequined and displayed. i kinda preferred soas coz i could just lose myself in the piles of shit and hope i might serendipitiously find something that's been recently sold out or that has escaped my online shopping sleuth. at clutch i was afraid to even touch the stuff even though there wasn't any do not touch sign like in a gallery. prices at both were too rich for my global south blood so i went to r&h where danny recognized me as "oomslokop from sufu" and got my tender canvas pants hemmed for 20 pounds with 3sixteen's shadow (or some such) indigo thread. took only a couple of hours while i hunted for daftmill whisky at berry bros down the road (no luck). they did an excellent job, but the thread hasn't faded since (i thought it was going to).
  16. having been in the roy denimbro tour, i can attest that the single back pocket is a deet best consigned to the dustbin of jawnz history. i kept reaching for the other pocket and im not even left-handed!
  17. just a note, in my experience when japanese shops use a waist measuring method that involves the word "circumference" when machine translated back into english, usually they mean for u to take a measuring tape around the inside of the waistband with the jeans buttoned (of course). i actually like this measurement method. served me well in the past. it will result in a smaller waist measurement than you are used to, but don't be alarmed.
  18. looks great @MJF9! so much rizz. there was a long discussion on a thread many moons ago about vest sizing with the consensus that it should be one size smaller than yr shirt size (p2p) since the p2p on a vest is measured lower than on shirts. but i would beg to differ with these types of vest, sorry, sleeveless outing coat! like the og filson hunting vest and the rising sun outdoor vest based on it, i think they look way more sigma sized up. there's an old rising sun catalogue with one of the rugged models dressed in a ridiculously oversized vest (while carrying a lantern inside a fake disused mine) and he slayed the house down heavy leather boots!
  19. mustve been part of the deliberate imperfections the sizing inconsistencies
  20. wore my oldest tender shirt (butterfly in plain calico) to do some promo content for my new book MONGREL KAMPUNG, deja disponible from Ugly Duckling Presse in NYC there might be some sufu-relevant lines in it! sufu friends in north america can buy the book straight from my publisher https://uglyducklingpresse.org/publications/mongrel-kampung/ in amsterdam it's available from Stichting Perdu in the UK it may eventually be available at yr local waterstone's but maybe better to order it from yr local indies, those who are particular about our books screen-20241104-214835~2.mp4
  21. can attest to this. i've had my og tender glasses in "gin clear" since 2016 and they haven't even yellowed (whiskied? :P)
