Actually, jackets had 3 digit numbers in the Big E era. I have a lined two toned stiched Type 3 that has 3 digit coded buttons. Maybe there were different factories that only produced the jackets??? The early Type 3's had larger tags.

"Air Forces". Nice...

Any cotton pocket bag and stitching will deteriorate really fast if you go months without washing. The dirt and oil that accumulates there weakens the shit out of the cotton.

Real pisser about these being discontinued.

I have a deadstock selvage OK apron from the 50's or 60's. I'll try to get pics soon.

Miz- you're right! Arthritis is no fun, either. Brass knuckles, and hell- fighting- are pretty stupid. Most fights are over absolutely nothing.

Brass knuckles are for are for maroons, big time. Although I will say that I've broken my hands on faces more than once. But that's been quite a while, nothing's really worth fighting for, not like my life has been threatened anytime recently...

Soap- are you in the States? Seems like duty wouldn't be an issue when getting a made in USA product into the States.

Type I jackets will be available, too, right?

Soap- they shrink to tagged size. I sat in a hot bath for about 1/2 an hour. I got tired of sweating after working all day, so I threw them in the washer on cold and air-dried. The cut seems very traditional, very close to my 1001XX with a very slightly lower rise in the back. The construction seems to be very good. My only gripe are the plain rivets. I guess PBJ has such a small out put that they don't see a problem there. The inseam seemed to only shrink to a 33-34. I'm sure there's a little bit of shrinkage yet to be done. As far as the color goes, they are a very intense blue, not a hint of black to be found. The weave of the denim seems to promise a really nice fade. I'll post some worn pics in, oh, say October.

Also- the pics on BiG don't show the color too well. They're darker than the pics suggest. The denim color is more blue than blue-black. They should face pretty nice! I'm gonna put them on at home and sit in the tub for a while with a book and beverages. I guess I'll wear them til they're dry.

Just came in. Denim is pretty light weight, which is no problem. I'm guessing the weight in the BiG description is post wash weight. Now I have to wait to soak. And then dry. And then wear.

i saw a lot of japanese levi's on eBay. Are they authentic? i recently bought a pair off eBay and the print inside the jeans were misspelled
Because they're most likely Thai fakes...

Whoops- I am a dumbass!

I can't tell from those pics. It amazes me when people put up auctions like these with really bad pics. Better pics=mo' money!

exactly, get over it and learn to sew.

I don't really notice much difference between shorts and jeans- hot's hot. It was mid 90's with 90+% humidity here today. I guess I've gotten used to it in 35 years. I don't even have AC in the car. Except for the "window units"...

1901s, I think.

I think I'm picking up a pair of these Friday. I'll post a post-soak report next week.

Really thinking about snagging a pair of the XX-006 this Friday. Any owners out there?

Any official release date for this stuff? Gotta get a Type 1! Also, will the entire range be available in the States?

I got some Blundstone 500s the other day. I got them for work since they're really comfortable. The leather looks to be of pretty decent quality, but it's coated in something- I'm guessing for water resistance. They're Stout Brown, which is basically black. I'm thinking they'll look a lot better after a few months of wear at the shop, but they look like galoshes right now!
I have quite a few pairs of vintage cowboy boots, some with really nice wear. These are the real deal, no Acmes or other low end boots from the 40s or 50's. Pics soon.

I stocked up on denim jackets in the off season: deadstock Lee 220 (like a 101J), early 70's Type III, still nice and dark with great wear too, a lined Big E Type III, and one of the non LVC Type I-esque jackets. I'll try to post pics soon.
