HJJ, really enjoying the blog! Do the folks at OOE speak English? Now that Warehouse isn't doing 1001xx, the 1301s look like what I've been looking for. Can you proxy? Thanks!

Turntabloid, those are 55 501s.

Do you own a Colt? Gotta be hard to cop in Taiwan if you're an ordinary citizen?

Do credit cards fit in the slot with the shapes cut out?

what size was the type 2? that's the one I really want.
Sorry- they're both my size, so they're keepers.

Just scored a Valencia Type I jacket (the last Levi's jacket I REALLY wanted) on eBay last week for $138. It came in with minor wear, and never washed. I cold washed and hung dried it. Not a lot of shrinkage, and nice and stiff.
The next day a Type II looking jacket popped up with a Buy-It-Now of $24.99. Turned out to be an LVC. It had been washed and dried, so it's not stiff at all. Here's the weird part- the tag is leather, not leather-like paper. It reads 507, no XX. There is enough of the tag left to see the silver thread, and the buttons are stamped with the elusive 822 code. Anyone found out what factory used the 822 code, and when?
Pics soon!

Jyoni, those are pretty late era 501s, late 70's, early 80's.

Are the 50's DD no longer in production?

JESUS CHRIST HAD DREADS...
So shake 'em.

I read that Real McCoys will be making the LVC 47501, anybody have more info on this?

lately i've been playing an ampeg v4-b teamed with a '73 traynor yrm-1 in stereo through an old 1960A cab.
thinking about switching it up though, the v4 sucks up so much power, its blown-fuse city.
If you're blowing fuses in your Ampeg, you should at least retube and rebias it; blown fuses are indicative of worn out tubes, many times rectifier tubes are the culprit. Can't remember if the V4s have solid state or tube rectifiers.

Nice, but it needs some Campy parts!

If my true size is 34', what tag size should get for the 811 raw. Thanks for helping.
Eternal doesn't make a 34 foot waist...

Monument Valley:
Antelope Canyon, can't remember if this is the upper or lower:
These weren't manipulated, those are the real colors in the canyon- it's pretty wild, and we didn't even go when the light is at its best!

These are (again) all pics of prints I did in the darkroom.
Here is the same block from around the same time. This has been redeveloped into bars and restaurants.
This luxury hotel burned down within 48 hours of this shot:
This area used to be full of mansions, even a Frank Lloyd Wright, but was demoed starting in the 70's. Now it's shit yuppie apartments. Yay for progress!
These were all taken with a Rollei 2.8 Planar TLR. I have piles of prints, but no time to scan or photo them, maybe I can start that soon. I have a nice digital camera, but I guess I'm a snob, as I consider those great for journalism or snapshots, but I have a lot more respect for the darkroom rather than photoshop. That's not meant as shot or a personal attack at anyone else posting pics in this thread, so please don't take it that way.

More to follow!

I took this probably 10 years ago with a Crown Graphic 2x3 view camera. Wish I still had that one. This is a picture of a print, a scanner would be nice, I guess.

Not really a Cinelli. The lugwork is pretty, for lack of a better word, bulky. Might be good for the $$$ the guy is asking, though, but it is a road frame. Not that that's' a bad thing.

Seems like these jeans are a clear cut trademark violation of Levi's arcs. Why don't they go after cheese like this instead of Warehouse, Samurai, SC, etc?!?!?!

The short rise is always a dead giveaway, too.

Just got these Baxters in on Monday, worn a couple of evenings this week. They're pretty nice, especially considering the US$165ish price tag! Goodyear welted, one piece uppers, quarterlined. They fit nice, and I'm sure they'll continue to look better as they wear in.

Uh, Paul T would know whether or not those jeans existed- he's written a book on denim. Maybe you bought some deadstock pre mid 50's? late 60's to 84 501's, even though they were shrink-to-fit, were labeled 501 on the tags, not 501XX.

Add another for the 1001XX. Big time.

Some poly/cotton pocket bags would be nice. I agree with others, repro jeans should have cotton thread, but more modern ones should use a stronger thread. I don't mind repairing my jeans myself. I'll post up pics of pocket bag repairs sometime soon.

k449, are you getting yours 38 raw?
HJJ, The rise on the OOEs is lower than a 1001xx? I kinda like higher rise jeans. The cool thing is it looks like I could order a 38x34 raw, which would shrink to perfection, assuming the inseam will shrink 3". Their Type I jacket looks really nice too, but I seriously doubt they make a 48- plus I already have a Valencia LVC Type I.
What the hell, I just emailed them.
