Great fit on those genes, @beautiful_FrEaK

@rockon99 Those might be a good candidate for reweaving.

The boots are great value - not much by way of top class material or construction (ie no boot snobs) but for 100 quid they’re hard to beat. Their bovver boy boots have doled out many a kicking and they last despite the abuse …
Yeah hard to believe you can still find a pair of goodyear welted boots for under $200 anywhere.

This pair of vintage Levi's gotten a little bit loosey goosey so I gave them a good hot soak with a bit of Bronner's (no agitation).
As they were drying the colors were really popping so I took a few shots in the sun light.
I love how you can see in the entire lifespan of the fabric in that waistband. Frayed and faded on the edges but the indigo is still inky and dark and the denim is still hairy in the middle.

Experimenting a little bit today.
Came across this oddball jacket while thrifting and picked it up purely for the intersting fabric and pattern (looks like some kind of indigo) to make a scarf or hankie.
But then I tried it on and kinda loved the fit. So then it became a self imposed challenge to style it. Let me know what you think. In person, I received a disproportionate and surprising amount of compliments last night.

Vintage black leather belt
Vintage Levi's 517 (black tab, cotton/poly)
Grinders western zip boots with snip toe and cowboy heel (cowboy chelsea?)
I had been looking for a new pair of cowboy/western ankle boots and after much searching I came across these and took a shot. As you may know Grinders are mainly known for making rugged Doc Marten's punk type boots but they have a Western inspired line (bench made in Mexico, goodyear welt, all leather construction) and so far I'm pretty impressed with the quality and fit especially for the price.

I immediately tracked down and ordered this R Crumb Robert Johnson tee after seeing @chicote wearing one.
Thanks for the inspiration! I love it!

As you may recall earlier this week I did a bathtub soak and shrink. End result below.
The jeans shrank up quite a bit but are still a pretty full fit, especially compared to my normal pairs. They are super crunchy, a bit hairy and rough as sandpaper. I'm very happy with how they turned out.

Crunchy...

Nearly 80° F out today so I'm soaking another pair of these indigo warp pink weft 501s.
My first pair were tagged 32 x 30 and were tapered below the knee and hemmed. This pair are one size bigger in the waist (34 x 30) and I'm leaving them alone post shrink for a fuller leg.

Those fit you great!! I really like the long vertical crease fades too, guess that’s from the dryer?
Yeah I'm guessing those long vertical fades (as well as the overall pebbly and grainy texture and the amount of shrinkage these had) mean these have seen the inside of a dryer at least once.
And thank you!
( Also I have been obsessively looking at belts all week after your last post AND I ordered a Crumb shirt too! )

Chilly day
Denim Greek fisherman's Cap
LVC 1950s Sweatshirt (Based on an old Spaulding)
Manga Batman T
New to me vintage 501 STF (made in USA, 1984-87)*
Vintage boots
FYI I'm fairly short and this is the first time a vintage pair was the exact right length for a single turn up. By far the best fitting pair of vintage 501s I've found. I'm so fucking happy.

Pretty stoked on these brand new to me LVC orange tab 606 "Super Slims". A personal grail.
Long considered the first "skinny" cut ( made famous by The Ramones ) by today's standards these are merely a nice slim leg. A nice lean and boxy top block and the higher rise with the longer 517 style back pockets is a nice alternative to the 501s square pockets and anti fit.
These are made from very crispy Indigo denim that has been overdyed black and rinsed and I've been after this particular pair for a couple years now. Last week I found an insane bargain on Evil Bay.
Big "E" Levis for $30? Yes please!

All of it. The belt, the T-shirt , the way those pants fit. I was just looking at a similar belt over at Left Field.
Inspired.

(Sorry in advance for the novel)
Last week Chicago and the world lost an icon and a beautiful soul.
Jojo Baby, one of Chicago's original club kids, drag queen, Doll maker, host with the most, fashionista, costume maker, actor, den mom, occasional muse to Nick Cave and Clive Barker, hairstylist to Bull's era Dennis Rodman, was a living and breathing work of art and also one of the kindest and sweetest humans I have ever known.
Last night my brewery hosted a LGBQTA+ storytelling event and I did my best to honor my friend by channeling Brando via Kenneth Anger's Scorpio Rising (with a dash of Westwood and Jim Henson). I think Jojo would approve.
I highly encourage anyone to check out the documentary that Clive Barker produced about them: JOJO BABY (or just Google Jojo's work.)
Wool Greek Fishermans cap
Kate's pearls
UNIF fuzzy cardigan ( The obvious jacket would have been my leather but I wanted to soften the look up a little bit)
Homemade JOJO BABY tee

501 STF (first soak in 2009, in and out of rotation since)
Vintage cowboy boots

And in their full glory:

Dingy vintage knit cap
Vintage Wool sweater
Iggy Pop tee (last wearing ever)
Vintage "WOLFMAN" brand jeans.
Keith Haring socks
Vintage Nettleton steel toe wingtips

"WOLFMAN" Jeans. Budget fashion brand from the 70s and 80s. Nice lighter denim, very high rise (16 inches!) and wide leg (9 inch hem).
The tee shirt was sacrificed and pinned to my destroyed leather for tonight's IGGY POP concert.
Also had some fun shaving my beard off all week.

Really didn't know where else to put this but I'll see if I can get some traction here.
Have recently became fairly obsessed with vintage fifties and sixties ACME cowboy boots with the painted leather inlays and thought I would try my hand at customizing some boots.
First here are a few examples of what I'm talking about.
And the boots themselves. Pretty cheap, shaft my be synthetic.
And here is what I've come up with for options
1. Cream and baby blue inlays, red piping
Option 2:
Cream and Red inlays, baby blue piping
Or
Option 3:
Blue and red up front, cream in the back with or without piping
