  1. Two pairs of shorts for sale. Each 35GBP + postage. If you’re interested please send me a private message and I can share measurements and additional photos. Freewheelers M-1942 — SOLD https://www.the-klamp.jp/product/1821 Warehouse Duck Digger DD-1550 — SOLD https://hinoya.shop/en-gb/products/dd-1550 Some light fading.
  2. I think the idea is that for items under £135, the retailer is supposed to collect VAT at the point of sale and send it on to the UK government. For items over that amount, VAT and duties (£135 is the cut-off for duty) are collected at the border instead (i.e. via your courier). So if your Japanese retailer doesn't collect VAT on an item under £135 (which in my experience, they don't), it won't be collected further down the line either. But I'm no expert, this is just what I understand to be the case and it tallies with my experience. There's some helpful info here: https://www.theguardian.com/money/2021/jan/21/eu-website-purchases-the-import-charges-uk-customers-have-to-pay
  3. @Double 0 Soul You’ll only pay VAT and duty on parcels entering the UK if the value is over £135.
  4. Thanks Julian. For the sake of clarity, I present my navel. Enjoy.
  5. This is what I mean. I appreciate that this is a feature, not a bug. We all know that denim twists when you wash it. The effect in the top block just seems more accentuated in these jeans. This is the first time I’ve posted a picture of my crotch to the internet (that I’m willing to admit to).
  6. Following the nice review from @beautiful_FrEaK I have a couple of observations after wearing my pair of 47s for around a year. 1. Compared to other jeans with a similar medium rise, I find the 47s quite unforgiving of hip-slip. By which I mean, I have to wear a belt to keep them high on my hips otherwise the fit becomes quite unflattering. This isn’t necessarily a problem, but I don’t love wearing a belt. This may also be peculiar to my body shape. 2. The long fly placket that bF mentioned really accentuates the twist of the top block after a few washes and the top of the fly ends up quite significantly displaced from the centre. Again, not necessary a problem, but it can look quite funny if worn with a shirt. The placket of the shirt will sit an inch or more sideways from the fly placket (apparently this alignment is known as the ‘gig line’ in military parlance). Generally I think they’re a nice pair of jeans, but these two points somehow mean I don’t find them as easy to wear as other pairs I own.
  7. @AlientoyWorkmachine those jeans are looking great.
  8. I’d be interested to hear people’s criticisms of Yuketen. I’ve a couple of pairs that I find comfortable and I like how they look, but they both have pretty useless crepe soles that have worn away very fast. Have there been other issues with durability?
  9. Thanks @rodeo bill They look great. I particularly like that satchel.
  10. @rodeo bill can we see a picture of yours?
  11. @willi That is a lovely watch. Probably a daft question, but are you certain it’s a wind-up? Many of the GS/TP watches are quartz.
  12. I don’t know, to be honest. You could ask in the Freewheelers thread. I’m sure someone could tell you.
  13. If you are still looking for T-shirts, I recently bought a couple of ringer T-shirts from Warehouse that seem to be made from the same loopwheel fabric as the 4601 but have a slimmer arm: https://www.ware-house.co.jp/?pid=96424783
  14. @mstax I can’t help with your search for Warehouse chinos. However, I own a pair of the FW M-1941 chinos and think they’re great. The quality is superb. The rise and taper are personal preferences, of course, but I’m happy with both on these. The rise is fairly high, but not ridiculously so, and I find it very comfortable. I don’t notice the taper, although I did have the last few inches lopped off (since I’m a shorty), which has presumably given mine a wider leg opening than standard.
