Thanks for clearing that up. Now I can sleep easy—no regrets about missing yet another pair of pants from OA 😀
-
I couldn’t agree more — that’s exactly how I see it. Especially since I already have more than enough pairs; it feels like the right moment to draw the line. And seeing the messages below about the price — did I understand correctly, $500 or $520 for the Amoskeag pants? At that rate, I think I’ll pass anyway, no matter how nice they are.

^ Yes, of course they mentioned it on IG shortly before the event. I’m talking about what happened long before that. There was even a discussion in this thread about how people perceive the model with a single back pocket. At that time, no one imagined that this model wouldn’t be available to all OA enthusiasts. Edit: That’s the thing — the items sold on Barnstormer and similar sites were available to everyone, and I had no problem buying them there. My first negative experience was actually with S&S a couple of years ago. They announced a OA jeans sale would start at a specific time, so I waited for that moment — but when the time came, the shop page didn’t show the sale. It only went live a few minutes later, and by then everything in my size was already sold out (WTF?). Luckily, I was able to buy that same model on Barnstormer shortly after, without any stress or scheduled release. And yes, the price on Barnstormer was noticeably lower than at S&S for the exact same pants. I’m hoping it’ll be the same with Amoskeag pants. If it sounded like I’m complaining — oops, didn’t mean to start a whining contest!

^ The discussions have been going on for a some time, year or more, here in the thread as well, and it has never been mentioned that this would be something exclusive for a separate event. Some people here, not just me, were planning to buy it where we usually do – in Japanese online stores.

It’s a bit strange — something so long-awaited and hoped for by many ended up being available only to the S&S circle and in just one event. Kind of a shame. Does this mean Ryo and Hiro are turning into in-house tailors for S&S?

^ Cool pics, man — that last one’s especially dope.

Congratulations, the customs finally gave in!

^ No need to reinvent the wheel — gold mining is the express lane to maximum fade-out, with none of the pesky originality 🤣.

^ Can’t quite remember if I’ve got any clothes with yellow on ’em—not just shoes, I mean—don’t think I do.

The yellow and blue combo looks delightfully patriotic here in Ukraine…) I imagine it would have a similar effect in Sweden.

As it happens, Bill Bowerman, co-founder of Nike, owned a large ranch near the town of Antelope, Oregon. It was there, in 1981, that the Bhagawan Shree Rajneesh (Osho) movement set up their commune, Rajneeshpuram. Bowerman, not particularly enthused by the sudden arrival of spiritual utopia next door, became a vocal opponent. He used his considerable influence and financial means to support efforts aimed at removing the group. In doing so, he rather stirred the pot—his actions contributed to rising tensions and, quite unintentionally, may have helped provoke some of the more extreme responses for which the Rajneeshees became somewhat infamous.

Magnificent catch! I would buy the similar pair without hesitation in my size — that is, 36 or 38, depending on the actual measurements... 🙂

The Amoskeag pants with a single back pocket won’t be sold in online stores for now, based on today’s news on Instagram. Not a very cheerful piece of news.

A miniature and very cheap (around 1 USD) coffee filter. I bought it during recent trip to Vietnam. It’s used everywhere there. I also discovered the world of Vietnamese coffee, learning that Vietnam is one of the main coffee exporters in the world. The most popular coffee there is robusta. But my favorite coffee at the moment is luwak.

I’m not sure if this will help, but some time ago, a package from Japan got stuck at customs in Kyiv for a week, even though it usually takes up to three days maximum, normally much less. I called the postal service, and they said they couldn’t influence customs. However, a couple of hours later, the package left customs and was with me the next day... 😇

I noticed that ChatGPT often simply lies. For example, I asked it to provide the full text of a poem based on the first line, and it immediately gave me the entire text—but completely made up on the spot. At the same time, ChapGPT is developing very quickly and does some things exceptionally well, such as working with provided ready texts, etc.

Was I supposed to?

ChatGPT: Japan Blue Jeans and Momotaro Jeans, part of the Japan Blue Group, use denim from Okamoto Mills, while the retailer Okayama Denim offers Japanese selvedge denim products that may also be made with fabrics from this manufacturer.

Oh, so you’re sliding down now? How many times a day? The picture is starting to come together. Though, if we’re being honest, Tilmann, I’m starting to think you should be disqualified from the contest! 🤣

I love my black Tricker's Bourton brogues so much, I’m considering wearing them with shorts—just waiting for the day I can start a new trend of “formal beachwear.” Who says you can’t look sharp while getting a tan? 😎 Seriously, I feel like strictly following style rules isn’t as important nowadays. Moto boots could be a good option; maybe sleek Chelseas? My R.M. Williams are quite versatile.

That was exactly the point of my question here the other day. Why do my jeans—even though I usually rotate several pairs—stay looking like new for many months, while someone else’s start wearing out literally the next day? Not that I’m worried about it—quite the opposite, actually. I like that my rare and rather expensive (for my budget) pieces last a long time. I’m just curious. My guess is that I usually wear jeans for only a few hours a day when I go out for walks/errands (several hours daily) and change into something more comfortable as soon as I get home.

I think I’ve lost track of the model with a single back pocket. Does anyone know anything about its release prospects?
-
Almost all the jeans in this thread are already showing signs of fading after just a few weeks. I don’t wear any single pair of jeans constantly, I rotate between two, three, or more pairs over each several months, and such level of wear usually starts appearing after a year or so. I’m a bit puzzled. Am I too careful? Or is my lifestyle just too cautious? What do you guys do with your raws? Sleep in them, rub against walls while walking around the house, or roll around on carpeted floors?😀
