  1. Good to know that they've added even more taper since the early R01—I like my Test Lots a whooole lot from a comfort standpoint, but agree with @JohnM that the cut's not the most flattering aesthetically, and I think a big part of that is how strongly tapered it is from a super wide thigh to a kinda slim leg opening

I think the ideal for me would be a little less room in the upper thighs and a little less taper below the knee, but in the end I'm sure I'll be plenty happy with however they turn out; at this point it's all just nitpicking

  2. I'm not huge on Merz tees. The materials are nice, but the construction hasn't wowed me, and the cuts are kinda weird. I'm happy enough with the two I have, all things considered, but I don't see myself buying more unless they're heavily discounted. For their whole long-bodied, wide-necked, rib-sleeved style I'd default to Tender Co.—better constructed with fabrics of a similar quality, plus you get to support a much smaller brand.

  3. Moving sizing discussion here from the TCB thread…

    I think it's crazy you wear a 7 whereas I wear a 6 :D

Hah, come to think of it that does seem weird—but when I've tried 6's at Self Edge they've consistently been tight in my shoulders and underarms, so…go figure?

edit: For what it's worth, the two Merz tees I have are the 207 and the 513, both of which seem to fit well in a 7

For reference, 513 in size 7:

  5. ^ Some nostalgic part of me wishes they still made that stuff

I was in my big social drinking phase when they announced they were taking it off the shelves and I remember my pals and I each buying a couple dozen cans to keep around, all long gone now of course

    Fuck was it gross

Steel Reserve.  If you know you know.

    No love for St. Ides?

Really, though, Bud and Coors are pretty close to the bottom of the barrel—I guess they beat Keystone  and Natty and those, but they’re all right in the same category

As far as temperature goes, I prefer room temp (cellar temp, really, which is what I figured most people mean when they say room temp in this context) for most beers—if I’m having something light and refreshing like a lager or a blonde ale I’ll have it cold, but all the cold does really is take away from the flavor, which is the last thing I want when I’m drinking something that’s supposed to be tasty
