@cause4pause those are not the typical xx05 cut that I, and probably most folks here, would think of. I'm not a TFH historian, and don't anything of that model. I suspect those to be a rare pair. No idea if that 18oz denim is the same as the 18oz in the 8002 I have from a couple years ago. Nice score, and enjoy!

I don't have, nor have tried on, the xx05 cut, but from what I've read here from other members and comparing measurements from various sites, the xx05 cut has slightly slimmer thighs than the xx09 cut.

I scored the same pair, one-wash, from OD a few months ago for a good price. Wore them for a day just to experience them. I've been wanting to try the 710 cut for years. I like it, bt the rise is a little higher than I prefer. The 19oz denim is indeed rough, in a good way, not contrived. I need to get mine hemmed. I'm not too fond of how much I have to cuff them, and how the heavy denim looks when cuffed that much (In hindsight, I should have had OD hem them for free since they're OW. Now I have to pay to get them hemmed + shipping). Looking forward to wearing them this winter. 

@cause4pause I have the 18oz 8002 size 34 from SE. LOVE TFH 18oz denim. It's so burly and intense. The cut is way too slim & tight for me, so I don't wear them. I have 3009 size 36 which is a much looser size and more comfortable fit on me. I've found the 14oz denim shrinks and stretches a bit more than the 18oz. Once the 18oz shrunk, it didn't stretch out quite as much as the 14oz does. 

My pair of 3009 from 2nd are one-wash. They shrink a little with a wash, and then stretch out. No significant shrinkage from when OW new. I usually wear a 34 in most pairs, but in this cut the 34 were very snug. I sized up to a 36, which are a bit loose. A 35 would be ideal for me, but not offered. 

I think it depends on the seller as to whether the jeans for sale are raw or OW. Just guessing, but unless a non-JP seller specifically states in the product listing they are either raw or OW, they're most likely OW. I think OW is a new direction for international sellers to minimize sizing errors/confusion.

Copped FN3009 size 36, one wash, from 2nd. Been wanting a pair for years. Had copped size 34 previously, but were too small in this cut. This 36 is a little roomier than I prefer, and a 35 would be ideal if they made it. Still, I think this could be the best fitting pair I've ever had! I'm really impressed with how well they fit, and how comfortable they are, without being baggy. This is about as close to my ideal fit as I've had. And the denim - now I get it. These are the first pair of TFH jeans I own. I have a couple pairs of RJB, that use a different denim, which is amazing. I actually think I prefer this denim - it's their Pioneer Denim, yes? Just the right combo of soft hand, rigid, rugged, refined, textured, depth of color. 

But the front pockets are terrible. I knew they'd be bad, and they're actually even worse than I expected. The front belt loops are too far apart from the center line, and inside edge of the pockets is in large part determined by the placement of the belts loops. Also, the height of the waist band is rather short, and this affects the pocket openings. A tall belt cuts off the top part of the pocket opening. Little details like this could easily be addressed in the pattern, without changing the overall cut and aesthetic. Regardless, very happy with this pair!!! 

My girlfriend Heather is petite. She manages a consignment clothing store in our resort town valley, and also does private fashion/style consulting, and has done some modelling. She has a hard time finding clothing that fits her small frame, especially jeans, as she's a size 23. She has a tiny frame and is muscular and has curves, just small muscles and small curves. I know some of Levi's cuts work well for some women. When I showed them to her on-line, she politely scoffed. I bought her a couple pairs to try on: skinny fit in medium and high rise. They fit her amazingly well! She looks stunning in them. We've bought other pairs in different colors: black, grey and white ('cuz... fashion...)

Several years ago I scored some towles f/ BB&B - don't recall the brand/model name (Valkyrie comes to mind, and it was entirely appropriate). They were rather incredible - extremely dense and heavy it was almost unbelievable. very large bath sheets, almost too large. Unlike any other towel I've ever handled. Nothing lasts forever, and BB&B doesn't seem to carry them any longer. 

Last year I was searching for new towels and decided on waffle weave towels by Onsen, to try something different. Apparently JP waffle weave towels are a thing, but are very expensive and hard to find. I bought into the hype about being highly absorbent and quick drying. They do dry quick, but are not highly absorbent. They're very light weight. Being at altitude in the CO Rockies, humidity is very low, so quick drying isn't a concern. Not sure I'd buy them again, or recommend them over regular terry weave towels. Personal preference there... 

One thing that drives me bonkers about towels in the inevitable band set back from the end. The Onsen towels don't have that. You're reco for Towels by Gus doesn't have a band on their Teton collection. Unfortunately the color I'd like is sold out in sets, otherwise I'd prolly cop.

@kiya I think you may have made a mistake on the pricing of those Rick Owens kicks. Shouldn't there be another "0" before the decimal point separating dollars from cents?

I had him do a full lower re-build to hand welt on a pair of Chippewa engineer boots a few years back, just before he blew up, when he was still posting here. The stock leather on the uppers was good quality, but everything in the stock lowers was junk. His work on the outside looked great. The inside, however, was not. In the heel area where the leather upper was folded under was very bumpy. In the forefoot where he did the hand stitched welt was also very bumpy. The boots were so uncomfortable - like having pebbles all over the bottom of the boots - that I don't wear them. I thought about selling them, but did not because I wouldn't sell something I think is defective. I tried to talk to Brian about it at the time, but he basically said his work was good and my feet would adapt to the boots over time. For what he charged and the quality of the work, I found unacceptable. The bottom of the boots should have been completely flat, smooth, no bumps or imperfections. I made a post about it here at the time, got a couple of supportive comments from members that are no longer active; then Brian stopped posting here.

Any experience/opinions on Velasca? Made in Italy, DTC. Reasonably priced for what they are. Construction seems to primarily Blake and Rapid-Blake. Some GYW. They offer a wide variety of styles from dress to rugged to casual. Mostly not for the SuFu crowd, more for the Style Forum crowd, here're a couple that may be of interest:
