Thanks Maynard, good point. I noticed that too about some of the Lee-style ones I looked at.

Another non-Levis type jean with a look I dig is the Mister Freedom Californian, I guess it's supposed to be a Wrangler-type of jean, but something like that could be a better choice. Either way, not a huge rush since I have a few other pairs to break in first, which should keep me busy for a few years. Just trying to educate myself here. :D

Did Broark hijack your account?! Jk jk

  2. For those of you who have been collecting for some time, how do you store your denim?

I’ve thought about buying a cedar wood chest to store my unworn pairs so that moths etc don’t damage them. I’ve also been wondering if it’s best not to stack jeans on top of each other - could create permanent creases or no?

Those black Ande Whalls are tempting. My size too. But, I’m on a spending freeze right now

Dang man! Not tying to encourage bad spending, but if I remember right you were pining for a pair even before Ande closed up shop!

wouldn't the inseam length on them be a problem for some of us?

If this does turn out to be a warehouse contest, would anyone sign on for a “bring your own pair” type scenario? I know some of you would rather see the new denim in action, but I’ve got a pair of 1105 that are dying to see some use and perhaps others may have some pairs of XX etc.

Obviously if some folks wanted to try out the new model/denim, that would fly as well!

This is why my wife and I gave up on BMW. Went back to Toyota and Honda to find out that they are no longer the reliable manufactures that they used to be in the 90’s either. Too many bells and whistles these days I suppose.

Anyone doing a No Buy 2020? I think I may buy 1 pair of jeans (something I’ve had my eye on) but other than that I’m trying to buy nothing else (again) unless I’m replacing something that has worn out or I’m selling. I failed last year but didn’t do too badly.

This should be the contest haha.

  7. Does anyone here have any experience with the buzz service shoes? I noticed that they’re marked E width, and just wondering if they are lasted a bit wider than a traditional D width. Obviously they don’t look as wide as the Munson lasted service boots, though.

This question is for the Americans here:

Anybody here get questioned if they’re in the Navy, Army, Air Force when wearing Buzz items?  Just a thought. :laugh2:

I work for the federal govt and probably 80% of the people I work with are veterans. I’m super careful not to wear anything with logos or stenciling. That said, I have gotten a few odd looks when wearing an army fatigue shirt.

Perhaps, and perhaps not, and no way to know. But I said what I meant and meant what I said, and that's all that matters to me. You can't force anyone to read something or to hold a certain opinion. None of that is my goal. With limited options, I did was I could to make a truthful series of statements, and I can't do much beyond that.

You’re spamming up the thread, man. Same reason you got negged initially.

  10. ^Kiya said in a separate thread that they have ceased all garment production with the exception of leather goods. So doesn’t look too promising. I bought a couple of flannels and a pair of 3009 in preparation.

  11. I’ve had an issue with two loopwheel sweats in the last few years. Both were SDA actually. Anyway, what’s happening is the fabric is bunching up in the pit area, and I think I’ve narrowed it down to the fact that both sweats were sewn-in sleeve, rather than raglan or freedom sleeve. Anyone else ever had this issue? Both were 22” pit to pit which is more than ample.

  12. On another note, does anyone know what’s up with BiG these days? Online store seems somewhat sparse. Saw they released a couple custom jeans which look pretty nice.

Been thinking a bit lately how, the BiG measurement became the standard and still is, but they’re not even really players these days. Still don’t understand why other shops measure differently.

  13. Also just throwing this out there... now that I’m thinking of it, I haven’t seen too many well faded pairs of orslow. I know many of you wanted 40’s details, but a 60’s jean like the 105 is a nice middle of the road cut.

  14. Question for you all:

Awhile back, someone brought up that orslow has a fleece sweater out this season for an obscene price which is quite similar to a much cheaper Patagonia etc. Now I don’t know shit about quality tiers of polyester, but I know that I pay more for nicer shit because it will age well. That or last a long time, and two often don’t intersect.

Thats not necessarily what I’m trying to wrap my head around right now, though.

I just noticed that not only orslow, but also sugar cane, and RRL have also come out with a similar vintage style, shaggy, Patagonia type fleece this season.

I see this kind of coincidence fairly often. And yes, I’m aware it might just be “on trend”. But where are these companies or designers drawing their inspirations from, and why do they coincide so often? Why is it that 3sixteen, rogue territory, and whoever else all decide to launch a coach jacket the same season(speaking to a few years ago, when literally everyone was releasing these)?

Are these guys being influenced by high fashion, I.e runway style shit? Trade shows perhaps? Only thing I can think of as to why there is so much consistent overlap lately between brands.
