Not to cross post too much but...let us hope the FH thread doesn’t mirror our Ande Whall sentiments in the near future...

Why post sonething that you don’t know is true or rumor?
Did you actually have damaged seals that required replacement? Were you using it every wash? May I ask why?
I disagree with the appliance tech.
Washing machine parts are designed to accept various cleaning agents including bleaches and oxidizers.
There are two applications where I use and recommend vinegar. One is for mold and there is no chemical less damaging to clothing that can kill mold. The second is for the clothing above that was thick with drywall dust. Have you seen drywall dust and water mix together? Have you ever attempted to get it off a floor? It smears. You can mop it 5 times and its still there in the cracks. This same film coats the inside of the washing machine and continues to attach to garments in several future washes.
I will leave it to the readers what they consider a greater risk...a known quantity of mold or gypsum mud on their fabrics or the unsubstantiated rumor that their seals will fail.
Hey man, just reiterating what my appliance repair technician said. Are you by chance a washing machine repairman?

For drywall dust like your recent photos, adding a bit of vinegar will help remove the dust and also prevent it from leaving a residue in your washing machine.
A risk with too much detergent is the suds can prevent the denim material from making good direct contact with the water and the water contact is essential. This is more a concern in a front loader where the denim can actually float above the suds.
Interesting to note but most consumers use 2X the amount of detergent that is recommended or necessary and receive no greater wash advantage by doing so.
EDIT:
Add the white vinegar to the rinse cycle. Do not add to the wash cycle because vinegar and soap cancel each other out.
I used to use vinegar in the rinse cycle but recently found out it eats the gaskets and seals in the washer. Not sure how true it is, but it came from an appliance guy.

Corcoran makes military and law enforcement boots on a munson last. I've handled a pair, and they're not great quality. They make some boots for WWII Impressions that are a bit higher quality.

I've searched for literally years now trying to find boots made on the munson last, and there's not much out there. A few years ago red Wing did a special run of Iron Rangers dubbed the Munson Ranger, and was available only in certain European countries and Japan.
Thanks MP. I’ve seen the Munson ranger and would have gone that route, had I not been several years too late. Oh well, we shall continue the search I guess.

Does anyone know if there are any makers other than Russell Moc that do a true Munson last? I know S&S carry a Lofgren model and viberg has before also, however both are out of my price range. I have some OSB on the elston last which is close to what I want, but not perfect.

^Maynard, yes I sold them them a couple months ago. Too bad, I would have liked them to go to a fellow Sufu memeber.

@kiya Any light you could shed on the Hawaii model containing sugar cane fibers actually from Hawaii?
0 -
Okay all, so the reason I brought this up- I was just in Maui and saw the depleted sugar cane plantations and read about the last production in 2016. It got me thinking about the Hawaii model in particular. So nothing definitive on whether current models actually contain bagasse from Hawaii - or perhaps it may come from a smaller operation than the commercial outfits?
As a side note - I wore no denim the entire time because it was so very hot and humid haha.

Does anyone know if the Hawaii is still made with sugarcane fiber actually from Hawaii? I thought I had read somewhere awhile back that Hawaii and Okinawa models were made with sugar cane from their respective regions, but that could have just been some misinformation or something.
Just wondering because I read that Hawaii stopped sugar cane production in the last few years

Waist: 72
Front Rise: 28
Back Rise: 36
Thigh: 28
Knee: 21.5

Inseam: 80Seems very similar to the measurements from my Red Cloud R400s, which are a '47 cut if I remember correctly.
Edit: was able to find chicote’s response to my question toward measurements:

@SuperJackle Do you have waist measurements of your pair? The pair Naoki measured for me came out quite small in the waist and was still raw, depending on shrinkage they'll end up too small...
If I remember correctly they measured 16” raw. I remember putting a hanger in the waist to keep them from shrinking too much. After that I just washed normal and they definitely shrunk a tad below tag size. They probably measure about 15.5” after a wash.

Doesn't @chicote have a pair of those? Think I've seen those somewhere
How do they hold up?I have a pair in 31 that I’ve been wearing on and off for a few years. Theyve held up well for me. No real evo to speak of on my pair though.
It’s crazy that they still have a pair. I think I bought mine in 2015, and it was one of the last sizes then.

^Those look one washed, based on the wrinkling of the leather patch, as well as the denim in general, and the puckering in-between the stitching. If they are in fact one wash, you won’t get much more if any shrinkage at all. Take measurements before and give them a hot soak with some mild hand agitation and compare.

Glad I stashed a pair of 1105 a couple years ago. Gonna miss flat head buttons and rivets most of all I think.

For my fellow USA residents, what’s the longest you’ve even had an item held up in customs? I have a pair of canes that have been In Los Angeles customs for about 6 days now. In the past it’s usually only taken 2-3 days. Unless the tracking has a delay in being updated, which I’ve seen before too.

hi there has anyone bought anythings from the brand Workers?
I’ve never pulled the trigger, but someone mentioned Workers on here awhile back and they’ve been on my radar ever since. Looks like good stuff.

The stitching of my 3Sixteens, which use poly/cotton
I was under the impression that 3sixteen’s stitching was strictly poly. Has there been indication that it’s a blend?

I seem to always get more mileage out of cotton thread in looser cuts. IMO it’s not very practical to use weak cotton thread on modern skinny fits.

^pretty sure my strike gold hoodie has a waldes zipper. I’m not sure of the history behind the brand though. Might be repro like conmar etc

Sold a pair of RS04’s that I got too fat for, then subsequently lost the weight and would have fit into them again.

Brand new. Rado did a reinterpretation of the classic captain cook in 37mm(aged lume etc)last year, and this year introduced a 42mm in several variations. This is the latter in blue dial on rado’s beads of rice bracelet.
