I'm struggling to use buyee, downloaded the add to buyee widget and the app but can't add my items. The widget may not work as I browse on an android tablet that has no task bar on display.

    Any ideas?

Try using it from a PC/Mac, I've had no problems using it on a PC via Firefox. Not very helpful but sometimes you have to go back to basics.

Part 2, now looking at the coin pockets of my 3 pairs with the "653" Button code, all non-selvedge, the one on the left is from '82, the other 2 are both from '83, all of them fairly wacko when compared to the earlier selvedge ones and also, the pocket openings are all single stitch. Again, you might need to maximize the pictures to see what I'm getting at. It's a completely different way of doing something fairly simple and standard on a 5 pocket jean, roughly within the same time period as the others but at a different factory.

A little bit more "653" button madness, similar to the nonsense I mentioned on page 687. I spotted this pair on ebay a while ago, they're sold now, but I couldn't help noticing the coin pocket, it's not a great picture but you can see that the pattern seems to follow the same lines as my early 1980's pairs, while these seem to be late 80's early 90's judging by the care tag and the patch...

    It has that rounded/curved line

The plot thickens, at least for me...:D

    I love denimes

I also spotted this from @pomata from all the way back in 2008, nice to see someone around here with some brand loyalty, 10+ years and counting.:D:D:D

Pains me to do so, but I think I’m letting these beauties go. I don’t know if I will ever be able to fit in them.

I'm in the same boat myself with some of my older and thankfully worn pairs but am still having difficulty getting rid of some of them, but as the old saying goes, if you love something, set it free.:D:D:D(They probably weren't talking about jeans when they came up with that phrase, but anyway...)

We all know that the debate has raged on for so many years now that we've lost count but I think that finally there is an end in sight to all the sleepless nights and there is at long last definitive proof...

Marlon Brando's jeans in the Wild One were tailored, check out the left cuff...

Even more definitive proof of the tailoring...

Looks like the outseam was given some serious pressing as well.

Very nice , can’t say I’ve seen one before ?? Couldn’t have been produced for long

I'm guessing they were some kind of accident or else a custom order(???), something like that anyway, seems odd they would go from 501xx->501ZXX->551ZXX->505 and then stick another button fly model in there for good measure.

Wonder how many guys are still active? Denim land seems so barren the past few years, I miss the good old days lol

Ooe is still by far and wide my favorite "brand"; You just don't get the same level of hand crafted love and warmth with the bigger brands.

Every time you say shit like that you make the Shiotani brothers cry. Do you want to make the Shiotani brothers cry? Do you??? #WarehouseTraitor!!!

Here's a couple of fit pics, wore them for the first time today.
They feel a bit more snug than my other two pairs of 1001's, but that could be because they're new and the denim is still a little starchy.

I actually totally forgot to ask you about the post wash measurements, did you measure the waist and inseam afterwards?

@501XX4EVER Yeah for some reason I get much more of a cowboy vibe off of these than pretty much any Levi’s, let alone from the same era! Dono why they haven’t aged as well.

Yes, I was kinda being polite with the Boot Cut comparison, there were times when they felt like flares!!! Left hand twill seems to have it's own rules, I think because it's a lot smoother it doesn't seem to "degrade" in the same way, e.g. it's almost impossible to get left hand twill to have any kind of roping on the hems.

  10. I think if they were tapered it was an amazing job as it would look like they did it from the inseam rather than the outseam??? as the selvedge part looks like it hasn't been touched??? I'm guessing it's harder to do it from the inseam???

I think what's odd about the extra tag is it looks like it's duplicating the information that's usually on the rear of the "main" tag, which would seem a bit pointless as it's also in English, so you have the same information twice???, and it looks a good bit different and longer to the other "extra" tags I've seen.

So in summing up, with fakes like that, who needs originals.:D:D:D

And @Paul T, if you're up for a bit more "653" nonsense, I spotted a pair on ebay that were quite interesting regarding coin pockets.:o:o:o

Those have surely been tapered, haven't they?

I've never seen a fake as good as this, but that extra tag looks strange. I'd want to see the underside of the main tag. This is my old 98 pair.

I've seen the extra tag on shirts from the "555" era and I think jackets too, but never on jeans. I thought they looked a bit "thin" as well but it could be the photo's or the fact that they are quite a "long" pair, I'd guess the shrunk to around 31"-32" waist and around a 37"-38" leg.

As I bought them used I’m not 100% sure about the shrinkage but they shrank a good deal when I did A 40c wash. Back pocket lining (which shrunk more than the denim) made the back pockets scrunch up a lot.

Yea, mine did that as well only a little more on the extreme side, it was one of the things I didn't really like about them after a while, that and the fact that they really felt like I was wearing a pair of Boot Cut jeans. Glad I experienced them but I don't think I'd go for a pair again.

Got a pair from levis, but dont know is a vintage piece or no, anyone can help? Here's the photos detail

    20190406_173651.jpg

They look legit alright, although the extra care tag is a bit disconcerting, maybe they did that for the export models??? Anyway all the details are the same as my "555" era 1955 cut, these ones seem to be from December 1998.

The measurements, before even putting them on for the first time, are: waist 34.5, front rise 11.8, back rise 16, thighs 13.5, knee 10.3.

So basically like an SD-101 with bigger legs.

Thanks for that. If that's the case then, they're basically not for me, I just couldn't make the SD-101 work for me at all.
