  1. And just to prove that I'm not going completely mad, here's some pictures of the "25" stamped on the back of the hidden rivets, answers on a postcard please...

And some more very nice orange/yellow yellow/orange switch stitching...

The superfluous extra arcs will be de-stitched tonight.:cool::cool:

Very nice jeans mate. The fabric do look similar to my old world tour jeans. You're in for a treat then!

Yes, I was looking at the pictures on your reactivated Blog, I can't seem to find the topic/thread for the tour you sent the jeans on though, it had some great pictures.

I started at a size 29, and now need a size 38 (at least in Japanese sizing; 37 if brands made them)...

    My TCB's were a 36!

Not to be all preachy, but you might want to lose some of that as soon as possible as it is almost impossible to lose the weight as you get older, take it from me.

Knew the day would come eventually, hope he's got a few more projects up his sleeve.
I need to take his invitation up on visiting the workshop before that happens...

Go for it, he might be the last of his kind at this insane addiction.

They look great @501XX4EVER, I like the texture on that denim. I thought the 25th anniversary was next year though, I’m sure I bought my 15th anniversary pair in 2010.

You're probably right there, what was the last anniversary then, 20th???, I have three pairs of the export model, 700, 800 and 1000 and they all have the number "25" stamped on the hidden rivets. Don't tell me this is another fuckin' mystery.:D:D:D

I think it has to do with the width between the two front belt loops. A lot of vintage pairs had them very close, making it difficult to unbuckle your belt. I’ve also read that it’s more comfortable when bending down a lot (ie working on a farm and constantly having to lean down).

You got there ahead of me, of course now I remember this from my '44 501's. I might have to give it a go now.:D:D:D

What's with the belt buckle being offset from the front of the pants?

I meant to ask that very question myself as I've seen it on loads of photo's in this thread, it looks uncomfortable right?, the buckle kinda sitting on your hip??? Unless they're afraid of scratching something???

  8. Further observations are that they have one of the things I love most about vintage/retro cuts which is the reverse stitching thing, IE if it displays yellow on the outside it's orange on the inside and vice versa, I'd say it's a pain to do and a fairly pointless extravagance, but I love it. It's even on the inside of the Belt loops, not a great photo but, yellow outside, orange inside...

I was asking @Broark about this on his recent pair, the inside of the pocket bags also have a finished seam, again pointless but lovely...

The other observation is that there is so much starch in these that I think it's actually dulling the colour of the thread at the moment, they will need a good bit of water/washing to get rid of it.

Not sure what the story is with the denim, it's definitely not the banner denim but it's a lot more "vertical" then the standard 14.5, it reminds me a bit of how @Bobbo tour pair ended up looking, lots of vertical streaky fades, here's a pic of a slub, from inside and out...

All in all, very happy with these, my guess is they are a Festival pair made during the 25th Anniversary year with some of the same details they put on the export models that they did around the same time.

  9. For those that are vaguely interested, the Lot 1001xx arrived this morning(with a Customs charge:mad::mad::mad:), first surprise, they have the regular colour selvedge!!!, second surprise, they have the 25th Anniversary stamps on the hidden rivets!!!

    More observations on the way...

Yep, any longer and it could catch on the back of a saddle, you'd sit on the jacket (same reason the A-1 was adopted by pilots in '27) could cover up and get in the way of accessing a pistol/bullets:

I guessing that's the reason leather biker jackets have the same kinda high back as well.

Sugar Cane 509SE - 12 months of wear - plenty of washes.

just uploading some final pics before list these pair on grail. These were definitely a beautiful pair of jeans and wished I committed more time to wearing them but I outgrew them. I have also liked SCxSE collabs and this made me want more.If you want to buy these off me, pm me.

I'm a big fan of denim pocket bags and I wholeheartedly approve of those ones there. Lovely stuff.

The vintage jackets are so short because everybody wore their pants at grandpa-level back in the day.

I don't think so, I believe it was more to do with how they look when you're sitting on a horse.
