Denim Blunders, Reflections and General Nonsense.
shredwin_206 replied to cmboland's topic in superdenim
@goodrain had an email interaction with him where he was a complete a**hole. He then proceeded to call me the terminator and that he’d never sell me a pair of jeans…he’s a bit mental. I get why he stopped making jeans. -
Denim Blunders, Reflections and General Nonsense.
shredwin_206 replied to cmboland's topic in superdenim
I tend to be an outlier in the denim crowd as I’m a blue collar tradesmen so I tend to beat the hell out of expensive clothing pieces. I do tend to lean towards more workwear themed items like Runabout Goods. Or real classic cut pair of denim like Freewheelers or the most bang for buck jeans around Wrangler 13MWZ. Not a fan of ShipJohn, WH Ranch, Roy, Brian the Bootmaker, Lofgren Boots, MF besides the denim everything else seems a bit costumey, CSF, Momotaro, Oni, IronHeart, Flathead, RRL, LVC, the list goes on. Much shorter list would be brands I like and fully support. Haha -

Exactly. They went from my fav jeans to a pair I never wear anymore because of the cardboard darning effects -
SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)
shredwin_206 replied to minya's topic in superdenim
It’s preference. It made the crotch feel like a sheet of cardboard was sewn in there. Made them uncomfortable to wear. And made it bench up all weird. Probably will last a long time but not worth the price of a new pair of jeans to have them repaired. -

I send all my jeans to runabout goods for repairs. Better pricing and better repairs in my opinion. Rain at indigo proof is great but she tends to go heavy on the darning which causes the jeans to end up super stiff where the repairs are. -

@Broark I lost count how long I’ve worn it. It gets washed and dried regularly. It’s faded a lot from being exposed to all the elements. I dig how it looks, but I get that some might not like how it’s aged due to how it’s used. @Double 0 Soul it gets worn all year round working construction. Nasty chemicals. Sun, rain, snow, etc. best way to really break in and beat up gear.

1943 are getting quite killer in the fades dept. Crotch blew out once so had my Mom patch it up. Cuffs are starting to tear at the crease lines. -
Making good progress with the jacket. Nice and hairy denim
