  1. somehow ended up browsing back to 2012 in this thread. suprised how much things have changed for techwear. fun to see the musings on the increased appeal of acr an av while not knowing what's coming down the road. lots of good discussion from members i completely forgot about. definitelty another era altogether.

  2. conroy and stephen are in there too. 2010-2012 was a magical period in time for acr and av. seeing av drop @290sqm and being blown away by the stealth shirt's pocket config. being able to buy acr at concrete amsterdam. good times.

  3. between the convex lt and voronoi lt i prefer the voronoi because it is a much more distinctive design and the fit is perfect for me. however, i do really appreciate the convex for it's brutal minimalism and clean drape.

that said, compared to the canada made nylon voronois i own i don't think the convex warrants a 350 price tag. it's very obviously a MUCH simpler pant to produce, it doesn't have the circular tape patches on stress points that the voronois have, overall the taping looks much less nice and despite all that it's still made in china. i wouldn't pay retail for it again.

  4. i see a dystopian hooligan wearing tapered schoeller pants that have detachable pouches on the sides. let's not kid ourselves and pretend they're not trying to be a more affordable acr.

that said if acr is the end-all of what goes for techwear these days it's inevitable that some of the stuff they do becomes less of an acr trademark and more of a genre trope.

  5. Fw15 cargo is the cotton/wool blend one. "black" is not black but a dark desaturated blue that will not pass for black by any stretch of the imagination. The AW16 version is cotton, a lot darker, with a tougher hand and very close to black but still blue-ish. the aw16 one fits a bit more loose in the seat and thighs. The aw15 one also has exposed zippers on the seat pockets which some people dislike (might scratch furniture) and in my experience the aw15 ones shrink more when washed.

My man Errolson's slowly pricing out people who, in a very real sense, helped to make the brand what it is today.

Very much this. I don't begrudge ACR their success, which is more than deserved, but as someone who loved acr from the first time i saw it in 2010 i do feel sort of left behind.

  7. what i don't get about these fakes is that they obviously originate at the factories contracted by the bird themselves. it shouldn't be too hard to figure out which ones it are and just tell them to quit fucking around if they want to keep getting legit business from vancouver.
