yes, there is a bit of flare. it might be less if you wear your pants higher up.

the convex pants are pretty cool. they feel a little tighter than the voronois in the seat and thighs, but they also have a slimmer hem so the end result is still tapered. it's a very clean, minimal design. if you already own the terratex voronois they add very little except for being even more understated.
they fit me somewhere in between the veilance model (too slim imho) and the haven model (unrealistically loose, no way their model is 1m83). The crotch gusset is interestingly sized so you end up with very clean lines where the thighs meet the fly. they end just above my CP's without any stacking.

those projects show an uncanny grasp of proportion and detail. you're going places, dude. keep us posted!

Convex LT fits much slimmer around the thigh + seat area, minimal/no knee bagging and less tapered than the voronois
shit, that's the reverse of what i was hoping for fitwise. guess ill find out when they arrive.

Also the amer group article is kind of worrying. Their desire to crank up the volume on AV isn't news, but the idea to build it into a seperate mainline brand is going to dilute the identity.

Who else hates the new catalogue landing page? It looks like the OG AV website where everything was very linearly segmented.
I love the new classifications. My inner tech-junkie is melting.
I was about to post that yesterday. The last few iterations of the AV website have grown increasingly dull and uninspired. The current one just looks plain bad.

for city use they're essentially waterproof. I've worn mine cycling in driving rain for half an hour and stayed dry.

Which ones? They all look pretty standard to me.
maybe my wording was a bit too strong but the detail shots of the convexes seem to have tape that's already loose at the edges
is the align longer in the inseam than previous seasons?

anyone else notice they're using a different seam taping technique on the pants? Less tape-y and more conformal.
edit also holy fuck on the close up shots in haven the taping looks sloppy as fuck.

field lt in stone is peak veilance. would've loved the field shirt in that colorway instead of in ash.

veilance does a REALLY good job color matching between different materials, but it'll never be quite identical simply because of the material properties

apparently not even the autistic realm of laminates and zippers is safe from the scourge of identity politics.

yeah you can't order off the main site but the various online retailers all sell to the general public.
i still own a couple of really oldschool leaf pieces and have owned a bunch more but stopped wearing them once the whole tactical mall ninja thing really took off.

the original pcu system is pretty shit. mark twight's ideas about technical clothing are weird as hell and the materials used are subpar. patagonia's run at the second generation was a bit better as it incorporated an actual hardshell instead of a trash bag, but still relied on a lot of nextec crap. the third gen is supposedly a lot better and has some nice stuff like polartec alpha puffies, but the l5 is still nextec and all the high speed guys who get to order shit on the unit level run dead bird or wild things.

what i like about the qoin/mionn series is that they're light on insulation, real three season pieces. down sounds more like a february in vancouver style jacket.

on a scale of 1 to 10 how bad is the swish when wearing the indisce blazer with the indisce pants because just wearing the pants alone makes people's heads turn when i walk by

this delamination issue is interesting. i'll have to inspect my indisces tonight. it might be that these laminates simply aren't designed for the type of fabric stress a pair of pants incurs, much like how the flat taped seams work in jackets but not in pants.
additionally, i wonder how visible structural issues like this really are to the veilance design team. i know the voronoi issue is on the radar, and they recalled some of the earlier cotton-faced laminates, but i also expect that warranty claims on this type of wear are limited due to customer expectations. On the fashion side of things, as opposed to the outdoor side, people probably don't often consider the possibility of a warranty claim. These issues might be severely underreported.
