  1. fwiw, I hate the extreme (exxxxtreme!!!) fades that seem to be the rage. I think they are one step away from looking acid washed. I greatly prefer a vintage, natural fade. These ROY's will definitely deliver on that front. The more I wear the more I love them. And the details are ridiculous. I geek out on the chain stitching on the back pockets while they are hanging in my closet. I just stand in there and touch them. My wife thinks Im fucking insane.

  2. that's the main thing that's kept me away from them. I love how they look, but cant tolerate the brown weft. Other than that, they look great, and everyone who posts up a pair wears them well. I guess im too pickyto let it slide

  3. agree with garden gnome, the colors really come out in the sun. I've been wearing my RS04s for 6 weeks, thought there was no color change, then I stepped out into the sun and you could see subtle shades of electric blue. (Living in Seattle means we get almost no sun right now)

lol, I grew up in west seattle and I gotta say I dont miss the winter months up there.

  4. Had a perfect fit when new, but I didnt pay attention to what Self Edge said about how it shrinks when washed. Now I have a sweatshirt that is too short for me.

    Measurements:

    21" pit to pit

23" top shoulder seam to end of cuff

    23" front length

    25" back length.

Machine washed once cold water, hung to dry. Been in a drawer ever since.

    $150 shipped in the USAIMG_1161_zps7675f4fb.jpgIMG_1162_zps093a81b5.jpgIMG_1163_zps28211e6f.jpg

  5. Figured its time to throw up some pics of my RS04's. I always manage to take pics at the worst possible time of day, so sorry aout the weird lighting. Denim has proven to be pretty stubborn. Lots oing on under the surface so to speak. Its shown some slight slub, and the colors that are popping out (in direct sunlight especially) are pretty wild.

  6. i know what you mean about White's block heel sticking out, but DenimJunky's seem to not suffer from that. I kind of like them to be honest. I probably wouldnt do the 461 last, but thats my personal preference. I also think the burgundy CXL looks much better than the burgundy calf. Its def. richer in color. Nice build DenimJunky

  7. The trench boot looks so much better than the wolverine. I have said it before and will most likely be branded a hater at this point, but I cannot stomach the wolverine 1000 mile boot. Its awful shape, along with wolverine's shitty QC makes it something I want to just go away.

  8. Finally got around to washing my SG loopwheeled zip hoodie, and damn does it fit perfectly now. I originally bought a large, but was worried when it fit perfectly pre-wash, so I returned it for an XL, which was a little loose and long, but comfortable. I gave it a cold machine wash last night and line dried it, and now it fits exactly like the large did pre-wash, although its obviously a bit thicker, with a tighter weave. Long story short, buy this hoodie 1 size up from whatever fits you perfectly pre-soak. Long story even shorter, buy this hoodie.

thats what I should have done. I had a perfect fit pre wash and washed it. Now I have a sweatshirt that is too short. Il post it up in the marketplace when I get off my lazy ass one of these days...

  9. Opinions on what pair I should get next:

    1. Samurai 710. I already have a pair of Iron Hearts, so Im leaning away from these, but every pair I see looks fantastic.

    2. Full Count 1108. Again, like just about every pair I have seen. They look great. A bit concerned about the sizing.

    3. Pure Blues Japan (maybe 013 or 003). Leaning towards these the most because of the slubby denim.

opinions? thoughts? tell me to go fuck myself?

  10. Gnome, I think so mate, I'd handled a few samples while I was there and although I'd decided to go with black I'm fairly certain that WL have the latigo in a dark brown too - and CXL as well.

Funny how leather from a Chicago tannery should end up in a remote, century old traditional bootmaker in the Peak District.

edit - the B5 leather as they call it, a reverse or rough out kipp butt as used on the WWI boot is incredible, I mean it had to be 4mm thick! Probably an exaggeration, but it was bloody nice.

    - cheers tigerpac :D

Right on Hog. I love the black, but I already have a pair of CXL White's, so adding another black pair would be redundant, and denim/boot heads are never ever redundant at all ever. Right? Anyways, great pair, I think I will seriously consider WL as my next buy.

  11. heel slip is one thing that freaks me out about engineers. Im also not fully convinced Im perfectly sized in whites yet. After a pair of SJ/BH's and a pair of Bakers oxfords, I still feel like Im not 100% dialed in size wise, although both pairs I own are totally functional and comfortable. Does white's alter the size of the shaft at all, or is it a one size fits all kind of deal?

  12. that boot looks so much better than the Wolverine 1000. In fact, (my opinion) I think the Wolverine boot is one of the most unattractive boots in existence. And I owned a pair for about a week before they blew up on my feet, so yea, I do have a slight chip on my shoulder. I think they are shit, and their QC continues to prove that :)

one question though. Oak Street says these are true goodyear welt construction , but I dont see the welt. They seem to be constructed just the same as their trail oxfords (of which I own and love) and I was under the impression that wasnt a welted shoe, but a Blake style of construction (faux goodyear)
