^Haha yeah grabbed the 66. I thought the XX was a bit wider but according to alpha shadows measurements it actually seems quite slim and thought it might be perfect after the initial soak, so I sat on it for a good 20 minutes and couldn't decide. Ended up with my original choice of the 66 just because I wanted a slim pair (hopefully not too slim though), and a lot of the Japanese measurements for the XX were bigger. So played it safe and went 66.

I can't remember what brand it was but I got a 2gb 4g/lte whatever card from yodobashi camera in Shinjuku and it worked great and really easy to get ready, just have to enter some codes (that they give you) and you're good to go. It used docomo's network. Only problem was it didn't work on my friends iphone 6 since it wasn't unlocked (bought from ATT), but worked fine on my Nexus 5x. I went in looking for the b-mobile one but couldn't find it so just chose one that looked good (2gb and I think some time limit but can't remember). I tossed away all the packing and stuff so can't remember the brand. 

Don't really need new jeans and the money could probably go towards something else more needed but screw it, grabbed a pair of the 66's. Alpha Shadows contacted me (since I had contacted them a few months back asking them to let me know when a 36 would get back in stock), and said they had restocked it and sadly prices have gone up due to poor exchange rate. But since I contacted them when the price was down they offered to give me 20% off. Great deal and very glad they reached out to me. So, should be here in a little bit!

^Yeah It kind of sucks haha. I was looking into flights again (I need to stop... but it's so cheap!) and then checking the exchange rate and it's gone up quite a bit. When I went last April a 7-day rail pass was 235 (well I purchased in January and by April it went up to like 245ish). It's now 275 haha. 

yeah saw that alpha shadows finally got a 36 in stock! But noticed the price increase. While I still think they're worth it just wasn't quite prepared. But I'll grab a pair eventually.

So I know it says true to size but was curious to see how you guys sized for them? I wear an 10 in converse, a 28 in Shoes Like Pottery and 11 in Vans/Adidas/Nike, so I am assuming I should probably go with a 10 in these? And any chance you guys will get the navy/white sole version? I saw them on taobao and love the way they look (more than the navy/black sole version). 

^They're actually just stitching variations on the WWII model for the upcoming Clutch Collection show! I'm banking on Konaka-san agreeing to do one specific type over another, of course it's his prerogative to agree to do it or not ;D

 

My guess is they're so named based on wherever the respective vintage pair he's reproducing was sourced from (via Miura-san)

Ah okay that makes sense! I got got of excited when I saw Santa Cruz, so was curious. The post said the article would be be in English so need to get my hands on it! Very curious to read about it!

What fit was the Santa Cruz version? I saw a pic on his instagram and was curious (Since Santa Cruz hold a special place in my heart I feel like I need a pair. Also kind of a random town to choose (if in fact it's the California town). 

Probably should have asked before I bought it, but how is the shrink on the new batch of Sugar Cane work shirt/flannels? I assume they're One wash or have minimal shrinkage but figured I'd ask. Just bought the SC27385 work shirt so pretty excited! 

Yeah, I haven't updated the DWC site in a while. It was a pain while ti was really easy to update here. Also as time went on, I got lazier and lazier to update the DWC site and now most of my photo's are unorganized and don't really feel like organizing them for the DWC site. While not too many participants anymore, I've enjoyed seeing the few who still do's pants!

^I was looking at one of the SNL15 shirts (also an XXL) and measurements were pretty good, just wasn't sure about the price. But yours looks good! I need to check out some of their newer shirts.

I think this stems from the fact that people often mistakenly refer to any shirt with a plaid pattern as a flannel.

Flannel can be made from a twill weave but it has to be napped/brushed to be made soft before it's a true flannel. Otherwise it's a twill shirt with a plaid pattern, but I guess it's easier to market that as a "flannel" shirt. Sometimes they're listed as unbrushed flannel. Some brands will also brush one side of the twill fabric only so that the inside of the shirt is soft but the outside keeps the un brushed look. Semi-flannel?

Anyway they're both good shirts, but if people say "nice flannel shirt" it's a judgment call on whether or not you want to tell them that it's actually an unbrushed twill shirt with a plaid pattern.

Thanks for the insight! Makes much more sense now. But sadly the XL (of the Studio D'artisan shirt) sold out in the last like 12 hours. Fuck.

If you want a mid weight flannel, it's a good call. The difference from Denimios view is that it's not heavy and so brushed inside.

If it helps I have two of those SDA flannel shirts from last years run. Very nice mid weight flannels.

Work shirt usually refers to the styling to differentiate from western shirts? Sizing: SDA Large is a UK medium.

That's generally what I thought as well, but the guy from Denimio want to make it very clear they were different, saying the fabric was rougher? So it made me a bit confused. From the close-up pics it looks like a flannel. the measurements are pretty spot on so was going to make the plunge but got cold feet.

mikecch, I agree on the Pherrow's. I love the 421 pockets. I am really big on fancy pocket bags, it's probably one of my favorite details. Samurai pocket bags are fantastic (and the pockets themselves are pretty decent too). My Warehouse 1001's pockets are tiny as hell. They barely fit my phone (Nexus 5x) and it's not even a really big phone. I have about .5cm before it sticks out. However they have a huge opening which is nice and easy to put my hand in.

The opening on my fullcounts is very narrow so it's hard to put my hands in my pockets (kind of the same with my samurai's). PBJ's have huge pockets (and pretty cool pocket bags). I wish I had a chance to check out the Redcloud R400's when they still had wabash pocket bags. 

Might be kind of a dumb question and is more shirt related, but what is the difference between say a twill work shirt and a flannel? I have my eye on the Studio D'Artisan shirt http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/vintage/item/sd5569a-16fw/?s-id=borderless_recommend_item_ko, and the Sugar Cane shirt http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/hinoya/item/sc27118a/. For the sugar cane shirt, I've seen it reference as a flannel on some websites and some website says work shirt (one site just calls it a heavy weight plaid shirt), and Self edge say both.

The reason I ask is because when talking to denimio (for the Studio shirt) the guy tried to make it clear the Studio D'Artisan shirt was not a flannel  but a work shirt and that the fabric is different. Honestly it looks like flannel fabric. I originally thought that a work shirt was just a style but now I am kind of unsure. I was mainly looking for a lighter weight flannel say similar to what you can buy at most clothing stores (not heavyweight stuff).

 Haha, it's bothered me for years on my Fullcounts. Didn't really realize it was a thing til I compared the fly on my various pairs and saw that it was in fact smaller. 

Kind of a weird thing to bring up but I hate (on my Fullcount 1101's) how small the fly is. The front rise is pretty long but the fly in proportion to the rest of the rise is very small compared to any of my other jeans. My Warehouse 1011's have similar rise but the fly itself is longer. The shorter fly gets really uncomfortable for me... Anyone else notice long or short fly's?

Sadly, there is no size 36. The problem with most (if not all) Rakuten sellers of Boncoura is that the largest size they sell is 34. Appreciate it though!

As of now, news from Red Cloud is that, there will not be anymore R series of jeans for international (not sure if they will make for China market), all international will carry DF series.

 

The closest cut to R436XX is now DF 103.

The differences is higher rise, wider thigh, slightly more tapered for the DF 103.
