While on the water today, saw a boat called the Real McCoy II. Made me chuckle.

 

But I am kind of at a good spot in denim where I grabbed most of the pairs I was interested in (Boncoura, Warehouse). So, I can't really think of 5 pairs of jeans but two definite ones I want are

 

Pherrow's 421

A pair of Connors (probably either '46 or '47)

Some funky Japanese brand whatever that may be.

 

Edit: It just hit me, but I did want to try a pair of Resolutes! Probably the 710's. 

Can anyone suggest a brand that makes size XL in long sleeve waffle crew t shirts that measure 45-47cm in the shoulders? Why is this so hard to find?

While I can't help you, I feel you pain. I swear the shoulders are so dis-proportinate on a lot of larger sizes in Japanese clothing. It sucks. 

really gutted... can't understand why their sizing on this vest doens't coincide at all with their sizing on the shirt I have which is even too roomy and it's a 17.5. Fuck...

That's how I feel about their jackets! The 60/40 parka I have from them is a large and it fits perfect. Yet all there other jackets are a good 5cm + less in the chest. I want to buy more Red Cloud jackets, but there all so damn small!

I saw that too, and went on to the taobao shop to see the new products, they look good! And man, I love Red Cloud's jackets but they're all so damn small. He makes bigger sizes in jeans (well some), and shirts but all his jackets are so tiny   . I really love the French workers jacket but no way can I fit into the 42. Even the 44's on some jackets seems smaller than normal. 

I'm excited to see the photos as well! Since my Samurai's were being repaired, I wore my 1001's pretty much everyday for like 2 months. When I finally got my Samurai's back I almost don't want to wear them anymore haha. I love my 1001's too much. Definitely getting some nice blue coming through, and probably going to throw in the wash soon.

I just copy and pasted the measurements Alpha Shadows gave me. Not sure how they did it, but that's what they gave me.

Sorry to keep spamming the thread but here is better fit pic. I'm getting a bit of hip flare on my right hip (which can't be seen very well in the pic). Hopefully will soften up with wear. Still undecided about them so going to put wearing them on hold. If anyone one is interested shoot me a message. If I don't get any interest in awhile I will probably just decide to keep them.

 

Also alpha shadows gave me some measurements of a sz36 raw XX if you guys are curious.

 

 

And here is them after repairs. Overall I'm definitely happy with how they turned out other than the fact that they smell pretty musty now... But nothing a wash can't fix.

 

Just picked up my 0500s from Self Edge after getting them repaired. I posted pics of my last wash in the Samurai thread and not here so here they are right before getting repaired at 13.5-14 months and 9 washes, and then the repair pics.

A few months back I was in an arcade and was talking to my brother who was playing DDR. As I was walking away some dude stopped me and told me "Nice Samurai's! How many months?". I never get people asking me about my denim and my Samurai's are pretty damn faded and really hard to tell they're Samurai's (at least I think) and the arcade was dark too. I was caught so off guard It took me a little bit to figure out what he had just asked since it didn't register. So I guess I was the awkward one haha. But talked to the dude a but which was cool. I was just kind of shocked he recognized them (and pretty happy haha). Dude's got one hell of an eye. 

Which warehouse model are you comparing them to?

My 1001's but I had them tapered.

 

Xx has maybe 3/4 of an inch lower in the front rise..

And shit, do they? That would actually make them a no go.

Some post soak measurements if anyone's curious. I just did one machine wash on cold and stretched the waist a bit while damp and worn for maybe 25 or so minutes. 

 

Waist: 18.85"

Thigh: 12.75"

Front Rise: 11.5"

Rear Rise: 16.25"

Knee 13" down: 9"

Leg opening: 7.75"

Length 29.5"

 

And I am having some serious second thoughts, sadly. The fit fine, not uncomfortable or anything although slim (and very stiff!). However they pretty much fit pretty similar to my warehouse's although slightly slimmer and with a slightly smaller leg opening. And while I think they look good now, when the thighs stretch (and below the knee doesn't) it'll look funky and super carrot shaped. They also sit weird since they're stuff so it could mellow out. I'm starting to think the XX fit would have been a better idea. The nice thing is though I won't need to get them hemmed! Although they're probably to short for most, anyone interested? I don't mind keeping them but if anyone is interested, let me know!

And don't forget the lack of v-stich on the waistband under the top button!

I'm no 60's detail expert but I think the Boncoura model is fairly accurate.

I just noticed that! I think the only thing that is inaccurate is the leather patch instead of a paper patch (correct me if I'm wrong). Which honestly, I'd rather have the very nice boncoura leather patch than a paper patch. And I just tried them on while damp, and damn, I think I was unprepared for the slimness of them. I can hardly fit my foot through the leg opening! But I did want a slim fit so I'll wait til they're dry.

I'm more interested in the XX variant myself, but I think those will be nice after they shrink up.

They're drying now hopefully pics tomorrow! And a few more notes, I guess I forgot about 66 details (since this is my first '66 type fit), so no hidden rivets, no coin pocket selvedge, etc. Very cool! And the patch is so damn soft... It's probably my favorite leather patch so far. And I was kind of shocked how small the leg opening was haha, so I am also curious to see how they'll turn out when they dry 

 

I only threw them in the wash on cold so I'll see how it is, but might have to do anything soak depending on the fit.

My 66's just came in! These are so damn stiff it's kind of insane. Way stiffer than the Samurai's i've tried! Very nice denim, the pocket bags are (like everyone mentioned) insanely nice. Super thick!  I do have a complaint though is there are quite a few lose/stray threads around the jean and the stitching below the top button hole is pretty poor, but not enough to really take away from the jeans. Off to the wash they go! Here are some pics and measurements.

Volvo, my friends give me a bit of shit for it but it's all in good fun. I actually hardly Instagram anything denim related but you bet when I do... I also only have like 30-40 Instagram followers so it hasn't really been much of a problem haha

I've noticed that a bit too. A lot of the fits I see on instagram all look the same and share the same characteristics you mentioned, aho. But then again, my fits are uninspiring and plain (and kind of fit that mold other than boots and tight jeans) too so I can't really complain. 

The website confirms my earlier suspicion that the model is named after Santa Cruz, California. But now I am various why he chose Santa Cruz, and San Jose as names of this WW2 models? I understand San Francisco but not so much the others. I'm not complaining though! He chose two great cities! But now I feel like I need to buy both models to rep.

Sorry to double post, but my flannel arrived. Definitely a fan! Super fast shipping as always. I am actually surprised how soft and heavy it is. Not a heavy weight flannel but definitely heavier than anything I currently own. Fit is pretty good, length and sleeve length are perfect. Shoulders are way too big but I knew that looking at measurements (but was secretly hoping they'd be smaller than advertised). But thankfully because of the color, it kind of hides the shoulders. Also another complaint is how high cut the side is. I guess I never noticed in the stock pictures but not really a big deal, just not used to it (although it does sit kind of weird since the hip is kind of tight but again not a huge deal). Overall, I'm really happy! Might pic a few more up but going to see how much (if at all) it shrinks in the wash.
