  1. Quick question for you EDCers. Does anyone know if there is a specific name for the "weave" knot (maybe its not considered a knot?) that you see on some survival bracelets?

I want to make one and from what I read, this weave allows you to carry a longer length of cord then the normal cobra knot. But I cant find any good "how-to" sites for the weave. im thinking if I have an actual name for it I can find some good instructions. Instructables has a good one but since I dont have an account, it wont let me expand 80% of the pictures.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

  3. Mike, what is considered cheap when it comes to emu oil? the piercer at the shop I get tatted at is all about the emu for healing piercings. He gave me a shit load of it. Says 100% pure emu oil on the bottle. I may be able to buy some from him since he buys in large quantities. Lemme know what you would be willing to spend and Ill stop in there and see what I can do.

  4. Ray, Im glad you posted this. I really dont like rucksacks at all but im in the market for a new bag (going back to college after years) and for some reason this ruck REALLY caught my attention. I actually just did some research and I found numerous sights saying things along the lines of "if you dont like strurdy and overbuilt bags, this bag is not for you." So what this means to me is this bag is a beast.

Not to mention they are cheap. I have found a few for about 50 bucks. I think Im going to try to get one even though a ruck isnt my cup of tea. Thanks again for sharing.

  5. Hi Mike, no problem, but as Mike Ch mentioned, I am in the UK, it arrived after the day he shipped it.

If it's any consolation, I've been planning the ROY comp since May, 28 people got theirs, all posted on 23 December, and mine ain't arrived yet! It seems a worse Christmas post than normal, maybe due to that earlier security scare as well as the weather. I ship quite a lot of eBay stuff, in general it's six days, but 14 isn't at all unusual, discounting holidays.

    Thanks for the info man.

  6. Scasi, That wallet is nice.

I just bought 40 bucks worth of solid brass hardware (trigger clasps, Snap rings, etc) and now can not find any solid brass chain to make a chain for my wallet. I can not believe how impossible it has been to find some solid brass chain.

  7. Paul, If you dont mind me asking, What country are you from and How long did it take you to get your belt from Terry?

I know Europe got hit with snow REAL bad in some parts and they told Terry that it was going to take weeks to get my belt to the USA. Then the US got hit with snow so bad there were major airports with 60% canceled flights. Terry Shipped out my belt December 22nd and still no sign of it. Just curious where you live and how long it took to get your belt with all this shitty weather. Thanks Paul.

  8. Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

I have to go thicker then what most consider thick. Like Kyles. I would destroy that thing. I have had quiet a few "thick" (by most peoples standards) leather wallets in my short 6 year construction career and the longest one has lasted is a year.

concrete, rebar, heavy equipment, all manage to do a number on my wallets. plus getting in and out of a bobcat or front loader 50+ times a day beat it up. I think Ill try to make one in the middle of what everyone suggested. Say around 8-10 outer, 5-7 inner and see how she goes.

Thanks again for everyone's insight. I appreciate it.

  9. @Saintkeat

Visited camden a few months ago for the first time since the post fire-overhall, but couldn't locate Crispin's shop.

So bought a belt from his ebay shop especially for my roy contest jeans, made of english bridle in dark brown.

Very happy with it, looks solid and feels it.

    Thanks for recommending :)

Dr, never herd of this guy. Can you link me to his ebay store or website so I can check him out? please and thank you.

  10. Corter, that womans wallet is beautiful. If my fiancee wasn't so hung up on her shitty coach stuff I would cop her one.

Got a question for any of the crafters in here. Corter, nicholas, obbi, etc. What is the typical weight of a heavy wallet?

For the past 6 months I have been always way too concious of F'ing up my FH at work (construction). I think I'm going to try and make a very simple wallet just for work. Just a bifold with a few card slots. I need to know what a good weight would be to make it nice and thick so it can take the punishment of construction.

Also, if anyone wants to sell me a 1'x1'ish sheet of such said veg tan that would be great. I really don't want to spend 150+ on a quality hide. I just don't craft that much.

Thanks in advance for any input.
