Back to the title of this thread… @Geeman - do you or would you wear them with your jeans?

Friday Night Dinner The key part of the premise: “They are frequently interrupted by their strange but good-hearted neighbour Jim Bell, who is attracted to Jackie and visits them due to his loneliness; he is usually accompanied by his dog, Wilson, of whom he is afraid. After Wilson's death, Jim adopts a new dog, whom he names Milson.”

Have you just bought some Hawaiis too @MJF9?

Brooks Vantage Heritage, released in 2014 I think, although I bought this pair a couple of years later, from Brooks UK. Here’s a couple of links about them and the originals from 1976/77 here and here. I must get around to wearing these!
-
I bought this one at the Yankees store in South Street Seaport (NYC) in 1999, purely for the name on the back.
-
These 2 I’ve had since 1990. I did some work for a friend (well, more a friend of a friend) who used to own the brand and shop Boxfresh and now owns Boxpark and was paid in clothing he was dealing in. The no alla violenza ones were produced for the 1990 World Cup in Italy. I used to have another in grey and another of the basketball ones in red until my sister stole them. He also gave me a coach jacket, some Soffe sweatshorts and a Burro t-shirt (they shared an industrial unit in Lewisham).
-
The top one I bought in a little shop in Brick Lane in 1999. The second, I think in Greenwich in the very early 2000s.

Yep. He also rapped about his Gucci watch!

Can’t beat a bit of whataboutery, it’s like criticising Guardian readers for supporting the Transatlantic slave trade! Anyway… Run DMC’s ‘My adidas’ (1985) is too obvious but let’s see if you can guess this song from 1987 from the lyrics below (the rapper has a terrible lisp, so best read rather than listened to 😬) ”They call me Puma, by the clothes that I wear, on my feet, on my body, on my head, everywhere”
-
I’m a bit older than 00, so I wasn’t even aware of Nike until my early teenage years. The holy grails of my formative years were always adidas and Puma - and for me, if I’m looking at a classic pair of trainers for knocking about in, it will always be those, particularly the ‘terrace’ style, although I don’t really like that term.
-
^ Good point!
-
But if they’re repros of golden era Nike, then surely they’re the sportswear equivalent of LVC and I don’t think you’re that keen on them?
-
Out of all the Nike trainers around, those 70s/80s running shoes are by far the best, but like smoothsailor, for some reason it’s not a brand I’d ever buy. Last pair of Nike I bought for myself must have been 25-30 years ago!
