This is my grandfather's watch. He wore it for as long as I knew him. My dad thinks he got it in the late 60's. Not sure. Its manual wind and probably nothing fancy. I wear it from time to time.

and if I wear them in for 6 months or whatever, will I still get the same amount of shrinkage after the first wash as I would if I washed them straight off the bat? any tips here would be great also!

Just soak or wash them first. Don’t be silly. Waiting to soak only guarantees that your cuffs will be in the wrong spot and any wear on the thighs and behind your knee. Also your pants won’t fit.

Edit: if that’s what you wanna do - go for it. I’ve just never understood the thinking behind it and have never thought it provided any difference quality of fading.

And I agree with sizing up on the 55. 55 sounds like your best bet. ‘37 would prob be good too but they’re not available this season.

    Super fit @erk

I'd mark it down as a sizing triumph!

    :D:D:D

Haha yeah. it worked out perfectly especially considering that I waffled back and forth 3-4 times and dropped out of the contest and joined again all in PMs with Volvo at like 3am. I really like the fit though. I got a nice fitted topblock as I was looking for. Good height on the rise and the length worked out fine. Fabric is amazing looking - beautiful deep inky indigo with some excellent texture. My one complaint has been mentioned before - back pockets are just a touch too small. My wallet fits fine and seems to stay but my phone sticks out about a quarter inch above the top of the pocket. It’s hardly even an issue.

  4. Anybody have a contact for Jason? I emailed in reply to my invoice thinking that would work but I haven’t heard anything. Looking for a tracking number cause I’m gonna be out of town for a few days

edit : alright I’m a doofus. That email address I have is just a paypal service address. Anybody got a real one?

  5. Thanks guys. I just compared @unders and the tcb shop measurements to measurements of my vintage Pendleton board shirt. Looks like I need a 40.

The measurements on the tcb site were pretty close except for that 360 chest.

  6. Would anybody care to help with some sizing advice for a TCB denim ranchman?

have the measurements on the TCB site been accurate?

I'm a 40R suit size and a medium in basic american clothing.

  7. I feel like the fading is pretty on par with what I’ve experienced from LVC and Roy cone products. The fabric is much softer and stretchier though.

 Thank you anyways!! Will update with post-launder pics.

It won't be the same but it will be fine all the same. I had mine hemmed after laundering and they still got plenty of roping.

(edit: I'm referring to the pair I got after the contest - not my contest pair which were hemmed by TCB)

    yesyesyes, super-jealous! That's beautiful.

I'm having to make some heavy decisions to maintain my guitar fleet. Think my tagged Valencia 55s might have to go to help pay for my Jazzmaster refinish. PLus other stuff I guess. I know also some people sold their Roys, how much did they fetch?

Guitar maintenance can be a real bank buster. I’ve got a Gretsch that needs new frets really bad. It’s just sittin there waiting for me :(

I sold my Roy’s fairly cheap to a denimbro member. I didn’t want to make a bunch of money off of them just wanted to keep them in the community. Those were higher minded days. Now I probably wouldn’t have done that.

Thought you might appreciate the sight of some tweed, Erk. This one's a bit neglected, pulled it out this weekend and want to get it back into regular use again.

meant to post this a while back but got side tracked. @Paul T may have himself a super cool tweed champ - but does he have a super weird '65 univox U-45b? This is all I've got in the way of vintage amps. Its pretty fun though. Had it all recapped and tubed when I got it ( and rigged it up with an ext. cab jack too - haven't tried it yet though.)

If we are the Leisure Class I wonder what our wives are wearing?

maybe we should post a picture of of their typical outfits to document similarities or difference to our tour gear...

My wife has a tcb 50s boys jacket. Maybe I’ll get a picture of her wearing it with me and the 20s.

(but there is constructional fault on TCB to make up for superior red tab... double stitching on yoke lines up, like prewar jeans, when it should be offset or staggered).

interesting they really did change to nylon. My guess is so you can read their name better. marketing garbage.

yeah, the yoke is the only thing that bothers me on the 50s. don't really get it. the 20s is offset right?

I'm hoping that the 47s will be okay without another wash because I gave them a properly hot soak, whereas I went really light at first on the 54s to avoid shrinking the already too-short inseam too much

as long as you got some good agitation the remaining shrink should be negligible.
