haha, thanks SM. I guess I'm a tough salaryman.
heres a pic of the TCBs with my red wing pecos.
Another great two pages while I've been gone. Good work everyone! Erk, I can't believe the evo you have on those jeans from salary man wear. Looking very promising.
It was a pleasure to see Ranon again this past week in Singapore. God, that place is friggin' hot! I've come back with a terrible head cold which I'm attributing to the extreme heat and air-con messing with my system. The trip was for work so I've not got any good update pictures other than the bro shot you see above, sadly.

Let the fades come to you.
I consider myself salaryman status. I could wear jeans at work, but jeans don't really work as well for the work I do - so I mainly use my camp trousers. So I pretty much only wear these after work and on the weekends. nothing crazy.
and some loom chatter for Paul

Seconded. If they're anything like cone denims, they're gonna pop one day. I've already started noticing some greatness coming through on mine. Take em as they are and forget about it. One day they'll surprise you and the results will be better and more legitimate looking than any samurais or flatheads.
Hang on in there, folks!
I'm surprised at this, but maybe it's 'cos I grew up on old Levi's, and have worn a lot of Cone denim. I'm not in a hurry, and I think these are looking great.
I also had a very nice Meantime Black IPA last night, which I drank too quickly to photograph. Excellent stuff, without overdone hops.
Quick desk shot, while I work on a book edit I'm helping with, 120 pages still to proof...

extra pictures as requested. I oiled these with a light coat of obenauf's LP yesterday after work - buffed to a nice low shine

thanks everybody.
for work I take pictures of cars for dealerships. I drive to a few dealerships in town and take pictures of their inventory and put it online. which is surprisingly a full time job. So I do a lot of walking - more than 10 miles a day - and its nice to have a heavier duty boot in the wintertime. plus its fun to wear boots you really think are cool to work.

also, this happened today.
had no idea it was even close. White's told me it'd be another 3 weeks when I called last week.
ordered directly through white's so they could accommodate my feet appropriately. I think they nailed it on this one. comfy on the toes right out the box. the soft toe really helps as well. I had to sell my lace to toes because the toe box was so uncomfortable.
*Farmer Rancher - Brown Oil Tan - vibram 430* these are for workin.

As of right this moment, I prefer the Wesco Boss to the White's Nomad because of the limited customization offered on the Nomad. Wesco just gives you a chance to make exactly what you want even if you have to pay quite a bit for it.
whats with that? they gotta set that thing free.

wescos cost more than white's stateside. I think ray was referring to Japanese consumers.

are wesco's not a similarly inflated price in japan?

6 year old WWII impressions army rough outs. these are my go to for work. they see a ton of car lot pavement as a result. they're on their 3rd sole and heel. shown with White's leather laces of course

I hadn't seen that dr martens brought production back to england. thats pretty cool. anybody have a pair of them? I remember when I was in highschool they switched to china and the quality took a nose dive.

more decent pic from a few weeks ago.

I have similar feet and the munson last is indeed a comfortable last. I've got a pair of the WWII impressions US army rough outs. They're great - on their 3rd sole and heel.
Also White's does custom lasts if you aren't happy with the swing last. I had them add a heavy fitting to the pinky toe area and a light fitting to the big toe area on my semi dress boots and i've been happy with that. I've always been put off by the swing last due to its lower arch...I also think it looks a little more extreme than the munson.
I also have a pair of aldens on the modified last. Just as comfortable as the munson but fits more snug.

erk those pants look good on you! they barely look half as loose as you described!
if you're referring to the show picture I posted - you can't see my pants in it. I'm the guy on the right side of the pic.

This is a reasonably accurate impression of where my pair are at. I guess I am three months in, I think I started wearing mine around 9 August.
Great looking jeans and hofner guitar paul!
I am also feeling the guilt of not posting hardly anything. So heres something.
I also had a new guitar day in these jeans.
its a 2010 AVRI 62 Jazzmaster. I had developed some back pain and shoulder issues with playing the 6120 and opted for a change. still have the gretsch though.
not the greatest picture - but I'm wearing the jeans and this is the jazzmaster's debut show.
I'm a little bummed about my size choice. I got a 34 and I think I easily could have gotten a 32 or 33. prob 32. theyre pretty baggy in lap area. they shrink down to 31 which is nice, but they stretch back to 34 in like 2hrs or less.

I'd rather have a pair that take some time to break in and look like real jeans than a pair that look like cartoon jeans. flathead/samurai/etc...

So my package got to Raleigh and was labeled with the wrong address and now it looks like its headed back to Manila.

TCB: happy jeans contest
in superdenim

I think they may be big on you.
you might end up getting a little more shrinkage out of the TCBs than samurai, but at the waist its of no consequence. Mine stretched back to raw size in probably an hour.
what does your waist measure?
