  1. I think they may be big on you.

you might end up getting a little more shrinkage out of the TCBs than samurai, but at the waist its of no consequence. Mine stretched back to raw size in probably an hour.

    what does your waist measure?

So I rolled the dice and picked up the last 50's cut in size 36 from Tuckshop. Even after reading this thread, I'm still pretty confused about sizing. My best fitting current pair are 19oz Samurai S510's in size 34. Do you think the 36's will be massively huge on me? Already planning on a good hot soak (possibly even a machine wash), and tumble dry to get all of the shrink out. They were sold out of 34, so it was 36 or something else.

Any input is appreciated, and thanks guys!

  2. Seconded. If they're anything like cone denims, they're gonna pop one day. I've already started noticing some greatness coming through on mine. Take em as they are and forget about it. One day they'll surprise you and the results will be better and more legitimate looking than any samurais or flatheads.

    Hang on in there, folks!

I'm surprised at this, but maybe it's 'cos I grew up on old Levi's, and have worn a lot of Cone denim. I'm not in a hurry, and I think these are looking great.

I also had a very nice Meantime Black IPA last night, which I drank too quickly to photograph. Excellent stuff, without overdone hops.

Quick desk shot, while I work on a book edit I'm helping with, 120 pages still to proof...

  3. thanks everybody.

for work I take pictures of cars for dealerships. I drive to a few dealerships in town and take pictures of their inventory and put it online. which is surprisingly a full time job. So I do a lot of walking - more than 10 miles a day - and its nice to have a heavier duty boot in the wintertime. plus its fun to wear boots you really think are cool to work.

  4.  As of right this moment, I prefer the Wesco Boss to the White's Nomad because of the limited customization offered on the Nomad. Wesco just gives you a chance to make exactly what you want even if you have to pay quite a bit for it.

whats with that? they gotta set that thing free.

  5. I have similar feet and the munson last is indeed a comfortable last. I've got a pair of the WWII impressions US army rough outs. They're great - on their 3rd sole and heel.

Also White's does custom lasts if you aren't happy with the swing last. I had them add a heavy fitting to the pinky toe area and a light fitting to the big toe area on my semi dress boots and i've been happy with that. I've always been put off by the swing last due to its lower arch...I also think it looks a little more extreme than the munson.

I also have a pair of aldens on the modified last. Just as comfortable as the munson but fits more snug.

  6. somehow I bungled this post up real bad.

So sorry to hear about the robbery volvo. I hope they turn up for you. you never know.

erk those pants look good on you! they barely look half as loose as you described!

if you're referring to the show picture I posted - you can't see my pants in it. I'm the guy on the right side of the pic.

  7. This is a reasonably accurate impression of where my pair are at. I guess I am three months in, I think I started wearing mine around 9 August.

Great looking jeans and hofner guitar paul!

I am also feeling the guilt of not posting hardly anything. So heres something.

I also had a new guitar day in these jeans.

its a 2010 AVRI 62 Jazzmaster. I had developed some back pain and shoulder issues with playing the 6120 and opted for a change. still have the gretsch though.

not the greatest picture - but I'm wearing the jeans and this is the jazzmaster's debut show.

I'm a little bummed about my size choice. I got a 34 and I think I easily could have gotten a 32 or 33. prob 32. theyre pretty baggy in lap area. they shrink down to 31 which is nice, but they stretch back to 34 in like 2hrs or less.
