Question/help on some hemming issues.
I have never hemmed prior to a decent first wear and first wash to account for length shrinkage, which we can acknowledge exists even is some sanforized denim. However, I have a few pair which are way to long too wear out of the box. In other words, so long they would be a triple cuff which looks ridiculous. So my specific question is how do you all account for shrinkage if you really need to hem? Do you just guess? Thanks

Lee jeans also seem to be doing a lot of natural indigo of recent years in their 101 range / model ... non-artisan ... quite baggy ...
Anywhere you can get measuments in the Lees?

I dropped for a pair of the CT-120x shadow. Anyone have any thoughts, comments or suggestions re pre-soak. Yes I know they are sanforized but wanted to see if anyone had any experiences one way or another vis a vis fading, shrinkage, color loss....etc

Those are the regular SC1947 jeans (not 2009 or 2014 models).
Those SC 1947s look stupendous....how did you avoid the hip blousing that I usually see on these...size down?

There's still much of that going around. Even worse, never washing your denim for the sake of fades. Weird...
Funny about this thread. I’ve always been a 6 month guy but rethinking this vis a vis hemming, softness and longevity

When do like to spring for chain stitch hemming? After initial soak ? Or afte first wash ? I’d like to hem a few pairs but they are not ready for wash yet.
Or do do you go with a generic hem to get rid of some length early and then chain stitch later after yor are comfortable all shrink is out post washing

Can anyone attest to what kind of stretching there is on the 17 oz. Chelsea Jean? I'm a size 31 in 3sixteen but I'm afraid the 31's on sale on the site will be too tight for me and unfortunately 32 and 33's are long since sold out.
Good question, wondering th was,e myself

@julian-wolfHinoya, Bears, and Vintage Paradise ship overseas. Hinoya I think sells the rare size of XXL in Whitesville plain tees. Shipping is usually 20 to USA.
Wish Barnes maxes a double xtra large. Still think thier loopwheels are tops

I bought a pair of the CT and one of the rivets popped off within the first week. Though I purchased the jeans from a local shop, I contacted 3sixteen directly and they shipped a baggie of rivets to me for free via priority mail. I have read similar stories about their excellent level of customer service. The denim looked like nothing special at first to my eyes, but faded nicely. I consider them worth the money (though $350 landed to India is steep).
Regarding the rise, I wouldn't consider this model a high rise jean. I bought a tag size 32 and the rise was 11.5". This worked for the first 4 months until the first wash, but the jeans shrunk after a cold machine wash/hang dry and the rise now measures just over 11".
Thanks for the info on the rise. Ive wanted to try a 3sixteen for a while but the low rises always turned me off. The CT started to look interesting b/c i have always admired the shadow selvage and i could possible do a 12" front rise with a 36 if it does not shrink considerably. Anyone know if sixteen has any retailers in nyc who carry the CT.? SE does not.

If the fit are modern or repro doesn't tell you anything about how good the jeans are... 3sixteen is great quality and nice jeans. I personally don't like the cuts but if the measurements is what you're looking for then you won't be disappointed.
Just curious...what dont you like about the cuts...too low rise modern extreme?

What provides more shrink? Multiple hot soaks or dryer
(yes I understand the risk of dryer damage...)

Hello!
I am new to raw denim, Superfuture, and Japanese denim, and have been soaking in the great info in the Full Count thread. The 1108 looked like a perfect pair of jeans for me. I messaged @beautiful_FrEaK for some sizing advice on the 1108 and recently picked up a pair size 35 raw which is my TTS (although b_F mentioned that a size 34 could work if I had slim thigh and hip measurements). I thought about sizing down 1 since the consensus is that FC denim stretches easily, but decided against it because I was worried about the thighs and hips being too tight with a 34.
I'd like to get people's thoughts on the fit (apologies in advance for the crap pictures). They haven't been soaked, yet, but I am not convinced that they will shrink enough to fit in the waist. They measure 18.5" flat and I feel like I am swimming in them. The thighs are roomy and there is roughly an extra inch in the hips. Somebody else had a similar experience - @Max Power, perhaps? - of getting a pair of 1108 that were extra baggy in their raw state. I'd love to hear how yours turned out. Will these shrink enough to achieve a slim fit with a hot soak and hot machine wash? I'm kind of worried that the hip will shrink too much if I blast them with hot water and too much agitation. I'm starting to ramble about my denim neuroses, so I'll stop and let y'all chime in.
Thanks in advance for your help and sharing your experiences!
The 35 measures 37 raw? Are you sure?
Sounds large but I defer to others with more knowledge

Reagrding the waist it's no problem to size down on Full Count jeans. For the 1108 you have to look at the hips and thighs though. I own the WH 800 also in size 34 and my 1108 in size 34 are a tad too small. If you have small legs than it can work out.
Great advice. It’s why I did not jump on your 34s for sale. Think I need a size up even though I’m skinny in the legs
