Personally, I think that fit looks great! I guess it all depends on what kind of silhouette that you are aiming for, but I think that looks good!
Thanks kindly for the reply. I inserted another pic for better reference. I’m leaning towards selling. I thought about a taper but I think it may throw the balance off and the seat is still k)nd of big....

Agree , that pair looks fantastic on you.
Kinda confirms that the fit pic pair I posted earlier, although in a different model, is too big.

@kbuzz - are they raw or washed and already shrunken? Like Mason said, it depends on what kind of fit you're looking for, but unlike Mason I think they're too large. If they are raw, then they'll shrink and might be a better fit if that's what you're after. .
They have been washed once, no spin and not soaked...so they won’t shrink or tighten...thanks thus far for replies

I've been feeling fatigue for "workwear" in general as well, and I know I've mentioned here even recently. Not really feeling the "athletic" trend that dominates currently either (reigning champ sweats and adidas boost sneaks, etc).
The old guard has been preaching peak selvedge for awhile, and I think we're finally past the breaking point.
Funny as I had a store credit at Levi’s this summer and ran in picked up a pair of 502s in a size down with stretch — I hate to admit washed — without trying them on . Had no idea even what they were.
the denims Mexico made but very thick and heavy in a good quality way. Find my self reaching for them often. They also have something that no one but left field has nailed, a higher rise with thin thighs and legs....

Just picked up a pair of type 3 in the black denim. Rise is a little low but the quality us superb as usual
They are super comfy and look like they will fade gracefully ...going to enjoy my first pair of black denim

Hello All
Thinking about trying my first pair of 3sixteen in the shadow selvedge CT 120x. I like to be right a 36 or drop below after stretch. Would you guys go with a tagged 33 or 34
Here's the Blue owl chart. Would you think i could get the 33s up to a 36. Im worried the 34s will stretch to way over 36....thanks in advance for any advice
33 34.75" 12" 12.35" 8.75" 36" 7.5" 34 35.75" 12" 12.65" 9" 36.5" 7.75" .

Here's a pic of me in my new TCB 50s, finally a part of the club!
Are those slims or regular 55s. They look great

very interesting topic. I have somewhat of the completely opposite problem, many jeans that fit great other people don't work for me beacause of my thick (!) gut.
I also find that is mainly a matter of getting used to. I thought for a while that the SC47 fit couldn't work for me but after wearing the TCB 20s for a couple months now I'm getting used to the higher rise of the 47 fit as well and really love it.
here's how SC47 fit me, size 36 (12,5 inches front rise) height 178 cm (5 feet 10 inches) 90 kilos (14 stones 2 lbs).
TCB 50's are probs my favourite fit, rise for a 36 is 12 inches but what makes them feel and look satisfying to me is the ratio between rise and a fitted top block
and here's the warehouse 1004xx (front rise 13+ inches, definitely out of my comfort zone, although rise apart these are a golden fit to me)
and here tcb 60s, much lower rise, but they definitely work for me
this is how I'd like jeans to fit me, but definitely I don't have the body type for this kind of fit, unfortunately!
Volvo those 55s look great on you.
Muck question isn’t the rise of the 66s too short for you?

Forgot to add what would be perfect for me is the iron heart 633 with a rouch longer front rise and and inch or two rear
yes I know they make an 888 but the thighs on those are similar to the 634 which imho are a bit wide for the lanky

I have to say this is a great topic. Having struggled with rise issues for over a decade into denim. So glad you made this topic
for me this brings up two issues. Rise in general for those of us on the tall and thin side. For those with this body type it’s hard to get a longer rise without looking frumpmy. In other words need the rise of repro but the effect is not flattering.
The SC 47 being the perfect example. I don’t know how to describe it except with that cut there was no way to avoid looking like a grandpa.
So for the sake of helping others I would say I’ve had decent success with lVc, Luther’s 55s and Roy’s . Left field greasers are also good but you better have a bit of beef in the thighs
the second issue is relate Ltd but for me the grail of a higher rise with a more modern look and cut
NOT A LIFTERS CUT
Havent found it yet although the newer freenote portola are close
I may try the left field Chelsea’s next and from what I can tell some of the full counts models might work

Yes correct and thanks for the post. Was figuring I’d tried a lower or medium rise for a change. Should have said usually prefer a higher rise

This is a long shot, but if anyone is interested in trading a mint pair of 36 Collect Mills Greasers for a Chelsea (of any denim) with a 35.5-36 waist please let me know.

Ill try one. Im going to try a slimmer pair for a change as im skinny but need a high rise. Figured id try some indigo x indigo or I x B.
Is 3 sixteen shadow still the gold standard? If so i can try the CT cut.
Other options would be
railcar spikes
freenote rios
LF NYC- if they have one
by way of background, i do own in regular denim a pair of LF greasers..but they are too large (should have gone Chelsea); freenote portola...
thanks for any thoughts

The tapering option is greet to hear re the journeyman. So let me ask one other question is the rear and hips of the journeyman also wider than the spikes
Tapering would be a great option for me but won’t work if it’s sloppy in the rear
but thanks for the update Taylor
been wanting to try railcar for a while

Hello All. Was the recent 710 discussion about the 710xx 16oz 2oth anniv model at ok den.? : https://www.okayamadenim.com/products/pre-order-samurai-jeans-s710xx16oz-18-20th-anniversary-selvedge-jeans
I have never tried a samurai as im long and skinny and the fit pics ive seen in most look like they trend to the retro cut. (which is ok , i have a lot of those already)
Any way, anyone have any thoughts on this anniv model? What makes it different than a regular 71- other than the blue accurates which i like?
Also if i were to take the plunge on this unsforized option and wanted to be 35 1/2 to 36 waist, anyone have any recommendations as to sizing
thanks

Can anyone refer me to a size chart other than SE. Im looking for a slim straight model, with a higher rise. Not sure if Stevenson makes one. 767 looks great but most post mention the rise is kinda low..thanks
