200! Insane...We have hard work ahead of us all, as I'm sure there are phantom beasts in the additional Japanese contestants who'll blow it out of the water. Best of luck to all!

Missing out on those is truly one of my few denim regrets...

@volvo240thebest what was the pair you're breaking in as a test?

+1 on a Nomos (really any Nomos). If you're leaning that way already, chances are you know she'll like it.

So good, much appreciated! Particularly interested in the through lines between what they were wearing (traditional clothing etc.), and what might've eventually inspired Levi's Jackets if anyone has the details. Interested in the denim aspect of it too as I'd always assumed they just wore traditional clothing as typically pictured, but you figure everyone had to be wearing work wear at some point. Super cool to see this was the case

Like others, I'm a 'one pair at a time type'. It's helped that my denim purchases halted completely the past 3 years, but I've now settled on what I like and what's most important to me: comfort.
Because of this, I stick with Ooe as the sizing is goldilocks for me. Looking forward to the TCB contest though, which means my current pair of Ooe's will be on the back burner for a while...

Sept 1st start works for me!

As an aside, I'll be doing the "picture of a news headline with current date from laptop" starting image instead of an actual newspaper with date image. Is it fair to say we can start whenever we get the jeans? A couple weeks here and there shouldn't hurt long term? (Sorry if I missed the rule on that, I couldn't find it)

Oh man, I was hoping they would release this colour! Even though about swapping my BB58 for it!
Love the OG58! Kind of want both now, but will keep the blue for now as my daily wearer....It'll be dangerous once they release more colors as well

I gotta go with BlackPink, only because they're really just models more than anything else in all honesty...

@Geeman might be good to take up BJJ, as an aside. (Skill and experience will oft overcome youth/vigor there)

1000XX has typically been my favorite cut, leaning more towards 47's than the 1001XX which were 50's right? Either way, these look super cool. Can't wait for more images and info

Aho, I was busy editing and adding more to my comment when you replied - I think. Sorry!
haha indeed, I missed the rest! Totally agree with you. A lot of the people hating on the blue are saying they wish it had gilt to it, or some creamier colored lume, which as you said I don't take well to much as I'm not in to pre-distressed jeans. The blue occupies the perfect space of older sizing and dimensions, whilst maintaining a sense of modernity with the stark contrast of blue and white. One of the best parts of the watch is how the silver/white hands grabs light in low lit areas...Beautiful! Similar in theory to Grand Seiko hands, but different execution. This watch is an instant classic to me, and I'm packing away my Sub for a while to let this one shine. I'd go so far as to say I could sell everything off to keep only this one, and I'd be okay with that. (Not happening since the Sub is everything to me though lol)
As far as thickness, it's no contest. The 58 case is perfect! Def. check it out when you get a chance2 -
It’s impossible to photograph, but sooo good in person

There's certainly something to be said of the lengths of nerdery taken to starch one's jeans, give them special washing routines etc.

Not a fan of starching myself either, much prefer natural fades. It'll be interesting to see how they all turn out...

Been thinking about sizing the last 48hs, but I'm pretty confident that my optimistic approach will be okay. I've been furloughed for a couple of months now and really dedicated myself to long hikes and workouts (luckily no leg days, since I find that so boring) so I fit 29 comfortably again and ordered a size 30. Now I just have to stick to culinary moderation for the next couple of months...
Furlough club! Through end of October for me; Plenty of time for denim breaking in haha

I'm multiple times on record stating Ooe is my favorite for all encompassing reasons (craft, comfort, fit, materials, technique, personality, etc.). Just backing up what's been said above lol
