  1. @Flash, looking fantastic – one tiny detail: At Nippers we believe in making full use of the garments we produce and we hope you do to. ...."to" should be "too" (sorry, copy / paste came out larger than intended)

    Loopwheeled/Vintage T-Shirts

^ not much to add... with you on the mid-bicep length preference. Possibly a short-sleeved sweater is better with slightly looser and longer sleeves, but I will not wear anything with a three-quarter or cutoff sleeve.

Mine fell off altogether – possibly because I bought a washing machine where I can actually set the temperature to 60ºC rather than just "hot"... I must get around to taking pics, we're just in a lockdown situation here that has dragged on for months and it's one more thing fallen by the wayside. The jeans themselves are looking rather good.

The Sneakers we wear with our jeans

^ good luck, @MJF9 – junior mondo went up a shoe size every year, so when he reached my size (US 11) at 11 years old I thought I'd get some respite and he could wear some of mine (I had been looking forward to using this as justification for some of my multiple pairs) – but at 13, he's a size 13 and trashes his shoes playing basketball as fast as I can supply them...

Whatever else, it's brought a certain level of discourse that I (and I'm sure many others) always enjoy here at Sufu, and when that happens it's a pleasure to see some key forum personalities giving their perspectives.

If we can't ponder such things here – of all places – what's the point? Go, you good thing...

The ugliest Jeans in the world thread.

Mind you, the ladies' model does have a handy map pocket, for all those times you're squatting with your arse blown out and need to consider your next move...

^ I do like the orSlow work shirt, just wish I'd been able to find it in size 5 at the time. I went with 4, as one way or another I've ended up with half a dozen t-shirts in that size – and a couple of pairs of pants – but it's just that fraction too tight. Maybe it shrunk a little in the wash, or I expanded somewhat..heh.. but I did come across an orSlow chambray button-down in a 5 that fits perfectly. The work shirt will probably end up in my 13 y.o. son's collection – he's 6' 2" and M rather than 6' 1" and XL like me...

I have a couple of pairs of the El Capitan climbing pants which are quite understated – they do have a small patch pocket at the lower thigh, which I find useful for keeping my phone on school sport days. They're my uniform for any day at school where there will be any physical activity affording an excuse to wear something other than workshop/kitchen-appropriate attire. If only I had an outlet for my predilection for vintage workwear-inspired garments..

^ Looks good – I'm a fan of Orslow's fabrics, they do seem to go the extra mile to make variations for each category of their denim offerings. That one looks similar to the 1940s coverall denim (which is 9oz, I think), and has a lot of character on its own – I'm sure it's about to get a decent workout!

...looks like it came straight off cultpop's arm and onto the gantry! **edit** haha, sorry, didn't see those pics of the actual tattoo at the beginning of the post, I just remembered he had one! Great job bringing that to life, it's really nice work

I still have a pair of super-faded Nudie Flare Glenns at the bottom of my cupboard... does that get me in the ballpark? Maybe the parking lot next door, peeping through a knothole at his fabulousness...

I guess if – globally speaking – we're ever again in a position to edge past someone seated in a confined space and worry about whether we present the arse or the crotch view, you're unlikely to be chastised for your asymmetrical pockets...

Shoes that look better with age...

^ yeah, I think they're intended for the shop floor and literally nowhere else... as in, you'd better not be walking to work. Or any other place.

^ been enjoying CPs myself lately – found a job lot in my size on eBay, half a dozen Achilles in high and low, decent condition and about what you'd pay for one new pair...

^ I rather like the Flight Engineer.. an eBay seller here had one up for a good while – and I bought a pair of the El Capitan climbing pants from him, come to think of it – but I felt that 16 would've been a stretch for me even though the measurements seemed acceptable. Now he's vanished without a trace. Please don't tell me it runs large due to its status as an overshirt...

^ I'm impressed at anybody's attempts to use a machine..! I've had some similar wear at the crotch, but have resorted to my usual darning with indigo threads unpicked from a roll of Cone selvedge I've had for ages – one edge of the roll is frayed from having some odd pieces cut out, so I figure I've got a few years left of unpicking before the roll gets tidied up and needs to be preserved. I'll get some pics up one day... dodgy as my efforts are, the indigo thread ends up fading and blending into the original fabric so the repairs become very much a part of the jeans
