  1. So you guys were in some kind of camera shoot em up in a little karaoke bar? How do you shoot back at him with your camera if you are not looking where you are shooting?

Also make sure to never get shot in the face with a camera it is the equivalent of a death blow your basically toast.

  2. IMG_2358.jpg

Some very minor fading on my BKs.

This is one of the funnier pictures I have seen. Are you in a bunk bed? What is going on here. I also really like those jeans, how are they doing in the Hawaii heat...man I miss Hawaii, I think we are gonna make another trip there feb.

  3. Hmm, well if your jeans that your making ever come to fruition put me down for a size 33.

Jeans that fit over boots but are not flared or boot-cut... what a novelty I would like to see that!

  4. I say take them off then put them back on.

    1. You get to hold true to your mantra of "I have all my clothes altered because nothing ever suits me.

    2. You will get to maintain the look of the Atelier La Durance Fronteir pant.

    3. You get to waste time.

or.... you could just buy different jeans.

I disagree with your logic Justinbaily. Changing the pockets drastically alters the look of the jeans and changes what the designer originally intended for the look of the pant. While hemming is a fit issue not the same.

  5. Thats called "having no class". A man of his prestige and wealth shoud be wearing a nice shirt and a suit. Not $103 levis. He looks like he just fixed my toilet. And the same goes for bill. But these guys arent geeks for nothing...

Fashion + Geek= end of world

I disagree. It is called wearing what you feel like becuase no one can tell you what to do. I wear jeans all the time because I own my company and I can do what a feel like. When I meet with clients, go to church, etc I wear jeans. Steve Jobs is one of the greatest self starter/entrepreneur/own boss.

If he is wearing what he feels comfortable and confident in why should he be wearing (no offense) what you deem appropriate for him to wear?

And just as a disclaimer I do not support those who wear sweat pants or frumpy clothes and sweaters all the time because "they are comfortable" that is a self defeating attitude and most people that wear "comfy" clothes all the time, if they were honest with you do not like the way they look and have image and self esteem issues.

  6. I had a surprise fit for a girl. My wife is a hippy lady with a 31 waist and we accidentily found out that a pair of RRL I ordered for myself (tagged 27) it is the slim fit straight leg ones from I think 2 years ago fit her very well. We are in the process of stretching out the thighs just a bit. (using the wet wear method) But once we get them fitting really well I will post some pics. And for 40 bucks how can you beat that.

Also what other women is going to have sandfordized straightleg japanese selvedge denim with grey/bluy selvedge line with a nice high cuff!?

  7. Nope, it's just to get honeycombs, And even that in itself is unique, superdenim is extremely rare, you don't see many people even getting designer denim. So Something like homebrewed (If i may say the word) honeycombs is still uncommon.

First off what would you consider "designer denim"? If by that you mean Japanese denim or reproduction denim then you are way off base I would say the majority of people that post anything worth listening to on Superfuture have a few beautiful pairs of jeans that most could not even begin to understand.

Secondly if you the 501s don't fit size down.

  8. Ok, So I've been to the porter store in NYC and they are sooo fucking expensive. I mean, they're nice, I like the designs but cmon, 200+ bucks for a simple nylon messenger bag? You're pretty much buying just the brand rather than the thing itself. So I'm not a big fan of that.

I really like the designs though of porter stuff. really functional. So I'm looking for carbon copies of these bags' designs. Tell me where to get replicas.

    Fake = cheap.

    Good design.

    Thanks

Did you ever stop and think that the reason Porter bags cost what they do is because of the amount of time and effort that went into the design?

    Time=money

Your reasoning for wanting to buy a fake Head Porter stuff is flawwed.

  9. I have 45 which are a pretty straight leg (most sugarcanes are) from what I have seen the 45s are a bit slimmer in the thigh and bum bum then the 47s but it is still a "full figured jean" I am not a big boy but I am beefier than most sf'ers (6'1" 190lbs) and the 45 is still a full cut for me not very slim at all.

  10. I can't wait till all of the denimbeasts who buy into the idea of wearing 21 oz denim everyday realize that it's not terribly practical. It may look good on paper, but nothing beats feeling denim in person and trying it on.

    my 2 cents

This is off topic but what 21 oz denim do you wear and dislike so much or is your idea "on paper" as well?

I have a pair of iron hearts with the old arcurate and they feel like magic. Thankfully I wear them when I feel like wearing them so I don't have to wear them everyday.

  11. Thanks for the correction. I am gonna do some hunting on here and find that thread, I thought it was in regards to slubbiness but I guess I am wrong. I'll find it and link it.....

ok here is one thread I saw but I know there is another one at least.

    http://www.superfuture.com/supertalk/showthread.php?t=20154&page=4&highlight=uneven

I was referrring loosely to what viv was saying about PBJs

Hahaha, nice one low! You can allways pull out those beginXcane photos!!! I havent seen anyone else posting them. Your right about the 868s being similar to the KMW or shoais, those rogue knots eh! Ive got some the size of peas.... good to play with.

This is such a shot in the dark but id guess the jeans synthi posted are samurai, this is only from the selvedge though, but id be surprised and would like to know which model they are....

Thought id paste my comments from the slubfeind thread at SF...

"I think onis are very slubby from what ive seen, they maintain the irregularities through fading. Check out john11fs on SuFu. Ive said it before but as my PBJs fade the texture smooths down and the slub effect diminishes, when new they were hairy and bobbly-knobbly to touch now they are smooth, head to walls PBJs have faded in a very smooth APC manner from what I can tell ( I own pbjs and APCs btw ).... John11fs onis look slubby post fade, H2W's pbjs not so much. My eternal 868s are nuts, the warp thread triples and quad-drouples in size in an inconsistent manner, ive posted pics on SuFu, these are very very inconsistently woven and are slubby, streaky but not as knobblybobbly as my (new) PBJs- however unlike my PBJ because of the weave I expect this slubby flame effect will hardly decrease with fade and washing. I also own some Canes natural edo ais ( the torquoise ones! ) and Samurais s5000bk both have a small degree of the "slub" but nothing in comparison with Pbj. Let alone the 868s

However if slubby refers to the uneven dying... then the canes win hands down!

This is a really interesting thread, I personally would like to see bumpier fabrics like PBJs rather than smoother yet irregular flamesque weaves like the shoais and 868 etc. But there are more aspects to jeans than slub. And im a slubfeind!"

    then i said:

"I wouldn't really discribe my Canes as slubby, they are definately woven with inconsistencies (sp?) and have beautiful striation, but the texture is not as irregular as PBJ or my eternal 868s,...... when my pbjs were new the texture was like a knobbly seer sucker denim - if that makes any sense??

I think you guys think slubby is hairy

Someone said slubby was a measure of the differing saturation of dye

I think slubby is inconsistent weave and texture and a varying size of warp thread."

    so yeah....... denim, nice.

And I was wondering if anyone else had experianced this or had some really worn in slubby/streaky denim we could see a picture of.

  12. I agree that streaky/slubby denim ad variety to denim but at the same time they are not a prerequisite of quality/uniqueness (which I don't think people are trying to argue).

Correct me if I'm wrong but was there not a thread about a month ago discussing how slubbiness becomes a moot point after extended wear of jeans because all the slubby pieces wear off? I don't have any slubby jeans myself so I cannot personally verify this but I remember this being the gist of the thread.

I am also curious as to what extended wear does to streakiness as well; I would assume that a well worn streaky denim would really even out and not really have to much streaks left to them after a year of heavy wear and wash.

From this I could come to the conclusion that slubby/streaky denim is more a novelty for brand new denim but as you break in the jeans you realize that your slub/streaks are fleeting characteristic of your unworn jeans.

To answer about favorite fabrics: 1. Iron hearts 21 oz selvedge - I love how it feels so smooth almost like it is woven nylon rope or something and it looks incredible.

    2. Sugarcane 1945 - I am getting close to the first wash and so far I am happy with the shades it is fading but also the feel of the heavy faded areas like the knees and thighs.

    3. Lees euro line - Roscoe green line half selvedge(lht) - Yes they are bootcut, yes they had a light wash to them, and yes they might not even qualify as selvedge. But I have worn them well for a year and a half and wash them probably once a month and the feel of the fabric is incredible, it feels like velvet and they have not developed any areas that are possible holes or even thin spots I am extremely happy with them for 40 dollar jeans.

  13. I can't wait to see the collabo Kiya and way to go on meeting the denim dream teem behind Sugarcane I am very jealous. Can't wait to come see your store in SF. Maybe ym San Fran trip can coincide with the release of your collabo with SC and I can pick up some little treats for myself. ;)

  14. I like the new oni arc I liked to old one better. I am so tired of people wanting blank back pockets. If you want blank pockets pull out your stitch puller and get to work. I like some kind of pocket stitching. For all you nay sayers what kind of arcurate do you think they should have? (Don't say blank)
