  1. woah, those ones are sweet!

I bought mine at the end of spring this year and I've been very happy with them as my inclimate weather wear on the way to the office. I sized down 1, as the website suggested, and I have a bit of wiggle room near the toes but they are defintely wearable. I figured that I might end wearing these with thicker socks in the winter so I've decided to stick with them.

I wouldn't be discouraged by the fact that Proenza Schuler (or whatever) wear them... it's not like I've seen them flooding the streets here in NYC.

  2. I prefer to button them up, jsut so that they're nice and compact for whatever vessel I'm soaking them in.

I don't have any solid theories about the crotch waves atm... but I wouldn't imagine that doing it one way or the other would create more or less waves. which waves are you talking about exactly? have a pic?

  3. I don't think there's any functional advantage to them being on the outside. Rather, they were porbably put there so that they could incorporate more of the different denim into the jeans (I think some of it is Edo Ai, some of it Okinawa Denim, etc.)

btw: Cotton, these are a great pair for you. I think they suit your quirky dress sense very well! Not really for me, but looking forward to seeing them develop.

  4. these are way cheaper than sneakers man so i could get more out of denim than sneakers.. maybe 3 pairs of jeans for a pair of a ds supreme dunk?

^ that's not really true, but eh, who cares.

at this point Edmond ahs acquired so many jeans that he will never have time enough to wear them all in to a very worn-in state (he's pretty much at the level of zk as far as collecting goes)

so I now officially condone Edmond's denim buying habits! huzzah! buy all the denim you want Edmond, it doesn't really matter what other people say at this point.

perhaps the reason why people care so much is that you are probably in danger of going into really bad debt at this rate and will have a hard time liquidating your jeans...

    back on topic:

anyone from DD+1 that has tried these on: how does the fit compare? I'm guessing that the seat on these guys fits much closer than the anti-fit seat on the 2000's

  5. they're called the "easy fit" model... saw them at the BiG party, but didn't really get a chance to examine them. I don't think it's Texas cotton, but I could be wrong.

Also, I'm not sure what "easy fit" means... loose and straight?

  6. those are all pretty anit-fit so you should be pretty good in that department. Be aware that the hip flare is pretty intense; the waist is pretty tight and then the hips flare out a lot, study sizing charts before making your decision.

As for which model, it depends on what you're looking for. I think the 66 tapers more than the others, the 55s are more straight leg and the Union Stars are somewhere in between. The 66 is a zip fly, dunno about the 55 and the Union stars are a button fly. They're all very very literal repro cuts, so don't expect a modern fitting jean at all.

The 55 or the union star might be worth looking into, because I know a lot of your jeans (of which you have many) are 66 derived cuts. Might be good to get a taste of a "true" vintage jean.

  7. depends on what you're going for. If you're going to use the Red Moon with your sammies, you're going to get indigo on it until the sammies have lost a lot of indigo. My advice is to just go with it...the sammies won't stop bleeding onto your wallet until they've been worn hard for maybe a year or two and your Red Moon will just be sitting there, not getting used.
