BiG x Sam collabo was there with the real leather patch... looked absolutely delectable. Didn't get a chance to ask Gordon about the release date, any of you guys know what the deal is with these bad boys?

I don't think BiG stocks the 45... You could try mil-mil.net as well, I'm not sure if they still ship overseas though (they're based out of japan)

I think it's funny that we don't like exposed selvage on jeans, but we care so much about it being on our outseams...
for the record, I'm not a fan of the exposed selvage, but the fabric itself is top notch... very similar to Oni, from what I felt

yeah I know... out of those two I guess I'd be getting the 55's first. But my next purchase will be the WWII Lee's w. upside down Levis arcuates
I was always fond of those backpockets... it's like wearing an anti-Levi's arc, lol
You sure did a number on those Even Steven's... they start out practically black! I can't believe they wash out to a nice blue like that...

should send that to Warehouse as a pic for an ad... maybe for their new direction?

maybe we'll find out more at the party tomm night? who's going?

you should probably just soak in the shower if you're worried about shrinking the waist...
if I were you though, I would just soak or wash the whole thing. You're going to end up doing that anyway at some point in the future... best to just get all of the shrinkage out of the way so that there aren't any surprises down the line.
post up some pics and let us know what the fit is like... I was thinking of sizing down one to a 29, same as you so I'm especially curious

I never understood why they put darts on the dry bones model... buckleback mdoesl are usually looser straight leg fits, so why bother slimming it?

those stromy blues might be pretty slim as well... I've seen them on a few fit models and the fit was not as hip flare-y as most Lees are

I think Stormy Blue has one that looks pretty good...

^ yes, what he said.
and in case you didn't know, the fact that a pair of jeans has a selvedge outseam does not mean they're necessarily better...(shocking, I know)

wooooo... nice find Edmond. Lee x Wrangler repro! In the same spirit as their other "crazy jeans", which was a Lee x Levis repro... this one already looks different from the get go , the lee and levi's denim looks similar when raw... you can totally tell which parts came from the Wrangler greencast broken twill here though...

got to handle these in person the other day after visiting BiG... my 2 cents:
I was not very impressed at all by these guys. The denim is very soft and thin, which is not really how I like my denim at the moment. I've bought white jeans from Uniqlo that were much thicker and denser than the selvage S-000, so I was pretty disappointed.
If these were being sold at the originally rumored price of 50.00 USD I might've understood... but at the current price of 80.00 USD (I think?) they're just not worth it imo. I would rather spend 80 dollars winning a bid on eBay for a pair of RRLs, which I feel are on par with many of the other well-known Japanese brands.
That being said, I think that the fact that these currently have a large size run (i.e. it's very simple to walk in and buy a pair that fits you perfectly) and the fact that these guys have a very modern fit may make it worth it for the regular guy on the street who wants to see what raw, selvage denim can be like. For those who are patient and strapped for cash though, I would either reccommend waiting for a pair of raw RRLs to show up on eBay or saving up a little more to at least buy some APCs if not John Bulls.
Investing in a pair of great-fitting, well dyed Japanese raws will make you happier in the end, I think.

I think the consensus was that it was more likely that the guy added buttons to his 1920s, since adding belt loops is a more complicated process...

trinket! I wasn't sure if you were a poster here. good to see you sir!
oh and CD: +rep if I could... nice wear, looks promising

how much are the non-limited jeans going to cost?
I'd assume that people getting the "non-contest" jeans would pay more than the pre-orders...I asked Gordon and he said he wasn't sure just yet, b ut it would probably be under 200 which is still a good deal.
What had happened was that the pre-orders for the jeans was lower than he had anticipated, ( i think that there were 190 pre-orders and he expected like 300) so the "non-contest" jeans are literally the same jeans from the same run... just with a paper patch instead of the SuFu leather patch.

so I tried on some of the raws at BiG yesterday...I think after all the washing is done, these are going to be fantastic fitting jeans. not much hip flare at all, lowish rise and, of course, that great denim.
Also, good news for those who didn't pre-order: Gordon is also getting in a whole bunch of 660s that are the same spec except for the patch... they'll have the same denim, the same hardware (which is all going to be warehouse branded, as opposed to Dubbleworks) only difference between these and the contest jeans is that the contest jeans will have the custom leather patch while the 660s will have the DW paper patch.
And yes Edmond, we all know you want the version with the SuFu patch... but at least there will be an opportunity to have these jeans at all (esp since this could be their last run!) Besides, these 660s will still be different from the Japanese models.
Also, in Warehouse gossip news: Gordon's meeting with the President of Warehouse this week...we should soon hear official word about what the deal is with Warehouse's new direction. Apparently the pres is in the US for a dig in the Nevada desert for some jeans... somebody found a swatch of denim in the desert and he wants to see if they can dig up the rest of the jean (!!! how fucking amazing is that?)

that's a funny idea. maybe we can get all the new york denimheads together every weekend to play some tackle football. a little grass stain might add some flava.
Hilarious... that would be a totally new level of denim nerdiness
and then after the game we'd all be like:
"awesome fades bro! Thanks for tackling me"

^i read somewhere the 1900 and 20s patch is more a spinoff of the strongholds?
It's more like the 1930-50 patch is similar to Strongholds.
Here's a pic from Paul T's LVC encyclopedia to show what I'm talking about with the early Levi's patch. It's a little faded, but you get the idea:
So, if I am a 34 in skinny jeans like PBJ-005, I should have a good fit in size 34 1920's as well, basically?-Jake
That's correct. Miz actually commented earlier in the thread that his PBJ-005's have almost the same rise as his 1920's... be warned that the legs are much wider on the 1920's, being that they are more in the spirit of frontier workwear.
Those two jeans (PBJ-005 and the DD1920) are actually quite complementary to each other... both slubby and dark, but completely different cuts with a more modern low rise

jubei...How did your DD shrink and stretch? I'm stuck between going with a 31 and a 32.
They shrink to tag size, but stretch out really fast to the raw size...
as for sizing, it sort of depends on what effect you're going for. These jeans are not really cut to be skintight, so even if you sized down a lot, it might end up looking funny. If you're between sizes, I would go with the smaller one, just so that the top block is more fitted, but I wouldn't do anything crazy like sizing down 2 from what you normally wear.
I actually sized up 2 on mine so that I could get that looser work wear fit (also, they didn't have 30s at BiG at the time and I wasn't patient enough for them to come in, go fig). Luckily the 1920's are cut a little slimmer than other repros, so I don't have a huge a balloon ass, nor do I look like I'm swimming in them. They're my comfy fit jeans
However, if I could do it again, I would've gotten my true size. Mizanation makes a good case for getting your true size, I've seen his in person and they fit great.
I'm also not 100% sure about mine, and had only noticed the beltloops, will the cinch later. On his pics it looks as if it's different for sure.
Also, does he post on here?
Not sure, but I commented on that post and invited him to this thread
He has a fantastic blog...

I've seen it a few times... not bad, but I don't know how much they're charging for it. The hand and weight seemed like they would be legit (prob around 12 oz) but I've no idea how they would age. My RRLs are I think slightly better, but you'd really have to test out the Rugbys to be certain (and I'm guessing the RRLs are made with better material, but I could be mistaken)
