  1. I'm loving a lot of this..

But disliking the shapelessness of so much of it.

I see a strong middle eastern desert nomad influence throughout the entire season, and the moving away from modern culture is also apparent.

i'm very interested to see these all in person later this year.

  2. Saw Yoropiko recently in vegas, like i said in the past, the stuff wasn't something that would fit into the model of our store.

I'm real curious how it'll do in the long run especially with so many new denim labels popping up left and right.

  3. Just to add my two cents..

I'm the kind of person that would spend quite a bit more just to support a local business that's taking the risk of stocking product and having a physical storefront.

I also like face to face communication and building a long standing relationship with shop owners/employees. so i'll pay the extra cash for that, along with the piece of mind knowing that if something goes wrong with my jeans in a month or two after i bought them i can have them repaired or replaced free of charge.

That was my personal, non shop owner point of view.

My shop owner pont of view is that the only real time i get heated over this subject is when a person comes into the store, tries on a pair of sugarcanes or samurais or flat heads, doesn't purchase anything and leaves.

then the same customer comes in two weeks later and has that pair on, but didn't buy them from us, they most probably bought them from a bidding service or a rakuten shop. and even goes to the extent to come to us to get them hemmed or asks for soaking advice via phone/email/in-store, then does this all over again.

does this happen often? at least once a week. do i know who these people are? definitely. do i stop giving them great service? so far we've just continued to give them the best help we can.

not sure how else to go about a situation like this, other than to just suck it up and deal with it. but as a store owner, nothing sucks more than what i just described above.

  4. the 45rpm overdyes are ring-dyed (meaning the core is white) before weaving; the black is a single dip in carbon (indian ink); these jeans are stubborn, but will yield a nice contrasty fade, eventually.

the SEXIH jeans i believe are probably ring-dyed with indigo first, woven into denim and constructed----and then garment-dyed with black dye (that's why the thread, weft and selvage line are all black/gray)------i don't believe it is possible to garment dye anything without dying to the core. i am willing to bet these jeans will be extremely stubborn and the fade will be subtle-----that said, everything eventually fades, even epitaphs etched in headstones.

DDML got this right.. Iron Heart (and the SEXIH) is ring dyed then once fully contstructed the entire pair of pants is garment dye dipped then heated to set the color. which is why the overdye jeans run about a size and a half smaller, in a sense they've been preshrunk for you.

and yes, everything fades, even overdye denim..

  5. weird though that you'd say "most solid jeans ever constructed for women" "has been reproduced for women" if they're normally men's jeans...just sayin

In all honesty, there's no way a man can fit into these jeans...

I'm not sure how Sugarcane expects a man to fit into these..

They say they're for men, but it's the only pair of jeans they make with such a short inseam and the thigh measurement runs almost 20% to 35% smaller than most men's jeans.

We're also, to my knowledge, the only Sugarcane retailer in the country than carries this model because i don't think anybody has thought to consider it as a women's cut..

  6. I ordered a pair of Nudies from Self Edge Sunday night and I got them Wednesday afternoon. Pretty fast shipping, but I also live in the same state so that might be why. The shop was pretty basic and I had some trouble changing my shipping address from the address I originally registered with, but after that was taken care of, ordering went by without a hitch.

The weird thing is, when I got the jeans, the Nudie manual/booklet that's usually attached to the back pocket was missing, but the plastic tag was still there. Not realy a big deal though, just thought it was odd.

This is my first post on SD and I mainly wanted to say that Self Edge was easy to order from and Kiya answered my question about shipping very promptly.

    sorry about the missing booklet..

people tend to pull those off if they're trying the jeans on in the store.

if you'd like one, please PM me your shipping address and i'll send one out asap along with a 10% off your next order note.

  7. Well, i just met with Supra, and Mr. Muska himself..

We're going to be carrying the entire line of Muska Skytops starting in about ten days at Turf...

Wait till you see what they're releasing in September.. Black Polka Dot, Black/Black, and a geometric print one. The new ones will a far better quality midsole too, but the price is increasing about ten to fifteen dollars.

  8. I give up. I just want a pair of jeans, not plutonium. I just can't believe it is worth the hassle. I have spent a week reading every post. The only one with kinda easy to follow instructions is super rag and they dont sell the samauri s510xxII

    Begging for help!!

Why don't you just support Blue in Green and buy from them?

  9. Speaking of bad rappers.. one of my favorite songs of all time

is "Be A Man" by Macho Man Randy Savage.

If you've never heard this song, do yourself a huge favor and download it from your favorite file sharing site asap.

    Here's a teaser:

"Hot diggity damn Hulk I'm glad you set it off (set if off)

Used to be hard Hulk now ya done turned soft

Doin telephone commercials I seen ya

Dancin in tights as a ballerina

I knew all along you had those tendencies

Cuz you've been runnin from Macho like I got a disease

Dude, please, your pay per view event was a joke

You're avoidin Randy Savage cause you know you'll get smoked

Come on that phony fight the Rock spanked you fast

But when I challenged Hogan to a real fight he passed

I called him out but the punk was scared to go

It was a charity event but the Hulk didn't show

Hollywood Hulkster, you're at the end of your rope

And I'm a kick ya in the butt and wash your mouth out with soap

Cause like Rodney Dangerfield you gets no respect

So come on Hulk let's wreck so I can put you in check"

now go download the song, you gotta really HEAR this shit to understand.
