  1. I'm confused - I thought Imperials were sanforised and therefore didn't shrink much but on the online store it says :

These jeans are made of raw denim, when washed, the denim will always shrink between 1.5" to 3" in length (inseam) and between 1" and 1.5" in waist size

That is merely a disclaimer we place on every product page for a pair of jeans that is totally raw.

    :)

  2. :)

about those SEXIH01BK's.. are they overdyed black denim or are the warp threads dyed black prior to weaving (what color is the weft)?

They are black overdye, same as the 634S-B that was released last year in limited quantities.

  3. seet the new "unisex" style sounds cool as does the new patch, been thinking about picking up a pair of black imperials- i assume the new sizes are going to come in black as well?

Yes, Imperial is going to continue making every new cut they're putting out in blue and black selvedge denim.

  4. So here's some tidbits of news for anybody that's wondering what's

    going on with Iron Heart..

-They've settled out of court with Levi's, money has exchanged hands, end of story

-All futher Iron Hear jeans will NOT have a tab of any kind,

leather patch has been changed, and will not have arcuates

-Self Edge will start selling Iron Heart online starting Feb 20, my UK counterpart,

Giles from ironheart.co.uk will also commence Iron Heart sales around the

same date. At that point we'll both have full stock of the infamous 634S.

Prices will most probably stay the same.

-Self Edge will start stocking Iron Heart denim shirts within the next few weeks,

then belts and button down flannels shortly after. Production on these items

has not been completed in Japan, which is why nobody has them for sale.

-Iron Heart has a statement that has been translated into a rough form of "english":

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    The news of emergency

To everyone of IRON HEART fan

Furthermore in everyone who has worn IRON HEART the importance it is

    the news.

The pocket stitch of the IRON HEART jeans which this each time we make

The red tub, label design, starting sale in the American mainland,

immediately, advice of those modifications was received from the

    Levi's corporation of USA.

We thought of the advice the importance, in the future determined that it

keeps aiming toward the jeans making of IRON HEART which, passes

in the world made to keep adding some modifications.

The latest modification is pursuit “of originality” and “upgrade” of the section.

Because details raise chasing, the page, we ask may.

WORKS typical raw wood truth one

    The new back pocket stitch.

The "W" represents "Works Inc", Iron Heart's parent company.

I personally love it, it's simple and gets the job done. very clean indeed.

  5. I'd like to note that all jeans coming to Self Edge will have a normal pocket.

They're going to have what they're calling "The Kiya Pocket", aka A Normal Pocket. I have no idea why they've chosen to name what is a normal pocket after me.. i think they find it funny.. haha...

I told them i wasn't too into the slanted pocket and they said "we'll make different ones for you"..

    we'll see..

  6. Here is the photo of the new pocket stitching.

there is ONE minor difference, the two lines that form the diamond in the middle where the four lines intersect are being removed. so it'll look the same, but no diamond image. hope that makes sense..

  8. I saw the new arcs in the latest Lightning guide... they're a little abstract (kinda looks like a lasso grabbing a cowboy boot, since the forked tongue is still there) but I do like them.

Kiya, will you be getting any flathead sweatshirts in?

    You described it prefectly.

The new Lightening is so good.. i think i've read through it about two hundred times already. And our store is listed in there, which is almost surreal for me to be listed in Lightening.

We'll be getting in all the sweatshirts in about a month or so.

Prices for all clothing will be just about the same as Japanese retail. :)

  9. will the larger pockets still be available at all on smaller cuts? I think the oversive pockets were what really make the imperials stand out in the crowd. imho

No.. all sizes below 33 will now have slightly smaller pockets.

Sizes 34 and 36 will keep the current size pockets.

  10. I prefer my amps handmade in Fullerton, Ca and covered in tweed. But on topic, I got the red plaid Flat Head shirt at Selfedge this weekend and I am very impressed with the quality. It is made with highly detailed selvage cloth and has all the detail one would expect in a 1940's work shirt. Unfortunately, I will have to buy more. Also, there is a really cute girls that is short sleaved that I wanna buy for my wife.

The Flat Head jeans look awesome too, but I am going to have to break in 3 pairs of jeans before I buy another pair.

Wait, you came into SE and didn't tell me in advance so i can be there?

arrggh! :) was that your first time in the store?

The shirts are truly amazing, especially how they're made of selvedge fabric and how they put the selvedge edge on the connecting area on the bottom of the body on the sides. Also, some of the shirts are chainstitched through-out...

  11. Prices will not be increasing with the upcoming changes, and the new styles will most probably stay at the current price level.

They don't want me showing the leather patch off, they want it to be released once the pairs are made and sent out.

    :)

  12. Here's some news regarding Imperial which you all might be interested in.. For those that don't know about Imperial, they make jeans out of Japanese Selvedge, but the denim is cut and sewn in Australia in a old denim assembling plant that used to be run by Levi's many years ago.

    here's the news..

-Imperial has changed their leather patches. They no longer display a pair of jeans, it's an illustration of the planet Earth, with Australia facing towards the front. Very cool looking...

-They are adding two new cuts. The first cut is their first truly unisex cut which is going to be a more traditional cut that is slim/straight (not as slim as the Duke). The second cut is going to be what they're describing as a pre-50's "farmer" cut. Look for the first unisex one to be released in a couple of months..

-All rear pockets on Imperial jeans on sizes BELOW 33 will now be smaller by 1.5cm on ALL sides, you'll start seeing these roll out in about four weeks or so

    That's it for now...

  13. The new stitching is to die for. I think it looks better than the old one IMHO.

Well my opinion is the only one that counts anyways.

yeah, the new stitching looks really cool.. i'm very into it.

    it's almost random looking.

i'll put up a photo of it hopefully in the next few days or so..

  14. Yeah, I mentioned this before. I was told by Chris (at Union) that Union will carry the Japanese line only, and will be the only account in the entire US receiving them. Undftd, Greyone, etc., etc. will receive the US line, and the number of stores with Visvim accounts (US line only that is), will drastically expand.

    ---------------------

  15. Here's whats interesting.. Visvim told me that UnionLA is carrying the US line, and they only have the timberland looking boots right now, and that Undftd is carrying the Japan line, and they just got a huge shipment of ALL kinds of new stuff ranging in price from 220 to 345.

The stores are right next to each other so it makes sense to give them different product, but we'll see..

sometimes things are lost in translation, especially between Visvim and I, so maybe they meant something else by their statement that the store stores will both be carrying Visvim shoes, but different lines.
