  1. The buttons (top and fly) are some of the best I've seen!

kiya - There's no way I'd be able to make the event on the 6th (Live in Chi-Town), and really won't be in San Fran for a while. Can these (and other Sugarcane pieces) be ordered direct from SelfEdge?!? I know the the online order system is supposed to be up shortly, but what are options in the mean time? Thx.

yup, just call us up or email to order them.

    free shipping worldwide as usual.

  2. i knew the stars on the rear pockets would invoke strong reactions from you all... i have to be honest, at first i wasn't so into them, then i saw them in person and my opinion changed.

after learning about the history behind these and trying them on i'm very much into them.

it's a really interesting story combined with the heritage of Sugarcane/Toyo...

  3. Oh I am, infact, I was allured by the Ironhearts ever since I've seen them on here, so I was ecstatic to hear that SEXIH was going to be cut like DH. I'm just hoping for a 19cm fit because 21's would still look rather sloppy on my figure; I tend to be uncompromising on fit, especially when investing so much for jeans. Tell you what though, and you can quote me on this, should there be a SEXIH released in a 19cm, I'd be one of the first to possess them.;)

trust me, there'll be a Self Edge special release later in 2007 that'll be a Dior 19cm, it just won't be made by Iron Heart..

    :)

  4. carl is on top of shit as usual.

    :)

    a few bits of info..

-the SEXIH (Self Edge x Iron Heart) jeans will not be available until February, BUT yes they are a Dior 21cm cut in every aspect, even the pockets are the same size, but the tag is a custom SEXIH.01 tag and the pocket stitching is different

-the new Sugarcanes will be available at the party, as that's officially the release for them too. they will retail for 275.00

-If by chance you are a size 30" waist then you can try on the SEXIH prototype i have that were made for me by hand by Mr. Iron Heart himself. if you try and steal the only pair in existence i will have your legs cut off, which would be unfortunate if you're into denim

    :)

  5. I happened to meet Yamane (the man that owns and started Evisu) on my last trip to Hong Kong about four years ago, we spent a few hours at his bar in Central Hong Kong talking about denim..

During the conversation he swore that the only way to soak your denim is with one to two tablespoons of salt. He said it removes "the resin" and helps set the indigo for future wear. There was a serious language barrier between us when talking about deepy technical things so i didn't fully understand, but from then on that's what i've been doing.

Maybe it was the fifteen drinks we had that convinced me or the fact that you don't argue with a person of his stature. regardless....

  6. that's the first pair of women's jeans on here that i've actually though, "maybe that'll work for my girl"... you have any measurements for those? and what's the price tag like? my girl's best fitting jeans are her black gap skinnies. i'm really looking for something that'll fit like those but have some decent quality to them. we just got her some levis online that look horrible, so no more jeans from them...

The Sling & Stones jeans go for $260 a pair, $350 for the selvedge ones..

the slim ones are quite slim, similar to a slim kim below the thigh, but with a little more room on top.. they run a size big, so i normally suggest people size way down in them.. like a size or two if you're used to Japanese denim. If you're used to Gap denim then get the same size or maybe one size down if you want a super tight fit.

  7. We got both cuts in a variety of denims and washes here at Self Edge for women and they look AMAZING... the natural veggie indigo japanese selvedge ones are one of the nicest pairs of denim i've ever seen for women.

Glad to see a company step up and make some next level denim for women, it still saddens me to see that labels that we carry such as Sugarcane and Iron Heart use Non-selvedge denim ONLY for their women's cuts.

Sling & Stone seriously gets big points from me in that regard.

  8. Look into Sling & Stones, they make an amazing 100% natural veggie indigo japanese selvedge that's either in bootcut or slim..

also both Sugarcane and Iron Heart make some great women's cuts but they're not selvedge.. they're only NON-Selvedge jeans are the women's ones.

stay away from Denim Birds if you're looking for quality, it seems to be Nudie's second rate brand, which isn't saying much.
