dior repro?

the upcoming Self Edge x Iron Heart jeans have a very similar cut to a 21cm Dior.

they'll have Sterling Silver rivets, 21oz selvedge indigo, hidden rivets, etc..

i'm doing a custom tag and back pocket stitch for these..

here at Self Edge we've been going through a LOT of the 21oz Selvedge Straight Iron Hearts, people seem to love them.

i've been wearing mine for four weeks straight, just did the soak two days ago, and for the first time in my ten years of playing with denim i saw a first.

during the cold soak ZERO of the indigo leaked, the water actually turned a funny yellowish color and the denim lost almost no color. this is from the silicon locking process that the denim goes through post production. very interesting indeed.

the only wear i've got so far is from my Dior wallet's lock tab and the wallets thick corner.

i'll know more about shrinkage once they're totally dry by tonite or so.

out of all the stuff we're carrying at Self Edge, this is my favorite so far..

the waist is fairly similar on both the japanese and italian.. but if anything, like minya said i've noticed a VERY slight difference in that the japanese ones are like .5" smaller in the waist. barely noticable quite quickly considering how fast all my Diors have stretched.

it should be noted that it's not "locked down" and more "just nobody else carries the brands.."

all our samurais are blue/indigo at the moment, though we do have black Iron Hearts... straight and boot..

most of our men's denim goes up to 38 or 40.

and all of them go up to 36.

our prices are the same or lower than retail for almost every designer we carry with the exception of one or two which is the same as everywhere else..

so in short, our prices are good and fair. you'll like them.

it's Sugarcane heaven in here right now... the Canes we got look amazing..

from the 1947, 1966, okinawa, hawaii, rodeoman, and more on the way they really are doing denim right. classic, built tough, great indigo treatment..

it's been a trip so far opening Self Edge..

some of these designers' products were harder to get a hold of than i had anticipated. but it's all worked out and we have all 7 or 8 of the denim brands that i wanted to have before i started working on SE...

for women we've got:

-Imperial Denim (none, they don't make dedicated women's cuts..)

-Sugarcanes (1, the bootcut model that's very tight in the thighs)

-Iron Heart (their one women's cut which is a straightish boot cut)

-Nudies (it's all unisex for the most part, but for women we've got slim kim and super slim kim)

-Samurai (we've got the Geisha, which some say is for women, some say it's just called that, regardless, we've got it in women's sizes)

-Iron Army (two cuts, two washes of each cut, womens' only)

-Sling & Stone (comes in november 15, women's only, two cuts, two raw, two washes)

hope that clarifies what we do and don't have for women...

i did my best to try and carry as much selvedge/raw for women as i could.

To those who've emailed me in the past month or so with positive words, thank you...

To those that are inquiring about exactly which cuts we're getting in from a certain designer, it's too much for us to answer those questions at the moment because our heads are filled with hundreds of cuts and washes and styles... We chose what we liked from every designer and we hope that once you see what we have in stock you'll agree. There are a few things we've got that i've never seen any other place, come in and check em out. The online store will be opening mid/late-november with most of our denim stock being available online.

The opening party will take place at 6pm on November 18th at Self Edge with J-Zone (nyc, old maid billionaires) playing his trademark style of ignant hiphop.

so here's some updates..

-we're still planning on opening November 1st..

-our opening party is going to be November 18th and we're flying out a pretty well known hiphop producer/dj/mc from nyc to dj for the party

-second weekend in january we're going to host a full blown Superfuture party with discounts on denim and drinks for all

-denim for men we're carrying so far: sugarcane, nudies, samurai, iron heart, imperial, and iron army

-denim for women we're carrying: samurai, nudies, iron heart, iron army, and sling & stones

-we're working day and night to make this happen.

our hours will be:
