I've come to this conclusion after running production for a few denim lines and knowing how much it costs to make jeans. They look nice though.

Kiya, I realize posting in forums and having blogs feature your product is a great marketing tool to move product, these are your jeans and you spent cash on them, no doubt . . . but something just doesn't sit right with me and the level of promotion and where its being promoted given the type of product it is. I really don't think most people appreciate/care/understand that to the companies making these jeans there is a lot more meaning than simply creating apparel . . . there's another level of purpose and respect in the process, and I think that gets lost completely in the hype machine. To me there's a very fine line between sharing information and pushing product. To each his own i guess.

Tangerine was just at SE yesterday and i was just explaining to him that this collaboration is going to open many doors for others to do the same in America, the more exposure it gets the more other store owners that have similar operations as Self Edge will see it as less of a risk and maybe try something similar.

Just so you know Kevin from Hypebeast got the info from Slamxhype. Slamxhype was the first site to release the info on a blog because one of the main writers for Slam reads SuFu obsessively.

I'm having a friend stop by on the 31st to purchase a pair of the blacks. I'll be in SF on 04/06, a day or two after you get them in the store. Can you just hold the blacks for me until I pick them up instead of shipping them to me? They'd be paid in full on the 31st of course.

If you were to be dissapointed every time a streetware related blog such as Hypebeast, SlamxHype, or High Snobiety were to report on something you like, you'd be left with very few choices.

You would have to nix Self Edge, Iron Heart, Sugarcane, Nudies, APC, Nom De Guerre, Comme De Garcon, and many more brands.

You have to understand that these blogs actually do report on MANY things that the Superfuture crowd is heavily into, but the signal to noise ratio is very bad, so it's hard to overlook all the hyped out brands that end up on those blogs on an hourly basis.

Basically, like it or not, those blogs which you're not fond of are going to report on what they want, and it'd be pompous of me to refuse them information or photos when asked.

And in response to us selling out? Keep dreaming..

I'd get a 32, they might be tight but keep in mind that all Iron Heart jeans stretch out an entire inch within two weeks of wear.

A little update..

The 25 black pairs have fallen behind, they don't arrive until four days after the release, you can still purchase a black pair and they'll be mailed to you free of charge when they arrive a few days after the release.

The sizing will run exactly like the blue version.

We'll have a sample of what Iron Heart Black Overdyed denim looks like for those curious as to how the actual denim will look when the Black version of the SEXIH arrives.

Yeah, trust me, when designing this thing we didn't think we'd get the response we have gotten, especially the last couple of weeks has been a bit out there for us.

The post was meant as a listing of the specs and release specifics, not a "line up in this direction.."

I did comment about waist sizing, rise, and inseam in my original post.

Very recently we've been getting swamped with emails and phone calls with questions

regarding this

upcoming collaboration, so i figured i'd put all the info out there to clear

up a few things.

Self Edge x Iron Heart Collaboration Information:

-Japanese 21 ounce Selvedge made from Zimbabwe Cotton

-Hedi Slimane 21cm Inspired Cut

-Sterling Silver Rivets

-"Half" arcuates

-Tagged 35" inseam

-Hidden rivets

-Custom super thick leather tag

-Crotch selvedge

-All jeans will be hand numbered on the inside pocket bag

-Waist size from 28 to 38 for indigo, 28 to 36 for black

-The black is an overdyed black

-Released Saturday March 31 @ Noon, if you're really set on buying an exact

size show up at or before noon on the 31st

-If you're not local and would like to have somebody locally buy you a pair,

feel free to do so, we are not limiting how many each person can purchase

-Only available at Self Edge for instore purchases starting March 31,

then available for online orders at http://www.selfedge.com on April 8th at 6pm

-When purchasing your size please make sure it's the correct waist size you

need because by the time you send them back for an exchange the chances of us having your correct size are next to zero.

-The measured waist size on these run 2" smaller than tagged size.

Please do keep in mind that these will NOT shrink much at all, and WILL stretch an entire inch in the waist after only ten wears.

-The Black overdyes will run 2.5" smaller than tagged size, same goes for above, they won't shrink much at all and will still stretch quite a bit.

-Iron Heart denim does not shrink much, maximum shrinkage will be 1/2" in the

waist and 1" in length after a warm soak.

-We do understand that these are pricey. The reason for the price is a combination

of the specs we requested and the low run we had produced.
