  1. The final verdict is in on the Indigo SEXIH waist sizing.

    The measured waist size on these run 2" smaller than tagged size.

    Please do keep in mind that these will NOT shrink much at all, and WILL stretch an entire inch in the waist after only ten wears.

    The Black overdyes will run 2.5" smaller than tagged size, same goes for above, they won't shrink much at all and will still stretch quite a bit.

  2. I've been tempted to buy some DH 19cms for awhile now because the fit is one of a kind. But now I'm wondering should I hold out? Are there any SE collabos in the works that are based on the 19cm cut instead of 21cm?

    There's two more collaborations coming out this year..

    SEXSC (Self Edge x Sugarcane) in September, a slim boxy cut with a low-ish rise with buttons from the Union Star, denim from the 1955, custom pockets, and more.. based around a rock n roll/glam theme from an indie American band.

    SEXI (Self Edge x Imperial) in the fourth quarter which is based on the 19cm cut..

    For now the SEXIH release is keeping us quite busy.

  3. Actually, it is, by definition, a "Hype Blog." He "hypes" "newish" shit to get page hits.

    I guess when i hear the words "hype blog" i think of a "sneakerhead hypebeast" type of genre... not thinking of the two words in the literal sense.

  4. Kiya - thanks for pointing out that the patch is the same size as the regular IHs.

    Agreed - symmetry is death... although I do find most women who have symmetrical faces (Kate Moss for instance) very attractive. I dig the asymmetrical acurates - it's a big plus in my book! Shit, what are you doing up this late?? Almost 3am in SF no?

    Yeah.. it's about 3:30am here in SF..

    We were up late working on the final contract for the Self Edge X Sugarcane "band image"...

  5. Sorry to break the news, but the patch is exactly the same size as the patch on ALL Iron Heart jeans.

    The only reason they look that large is the camera angle.

    Oh, and as a side note.. Symmetry is death.

  6. My bad, gotta stop drinking that vodka...

    Although i've got to say the jeans on this page don't look boot cut to me, what do you reckon? http://www.ironheart.co.uk/html/NewDesignMark2.html

    Yeah, they don't look too bootcut i that photo, but those are the new bootcut they're producing. They haven't been released yet though.

    Here's how the Iron Heart numbering system works:

    461 = Bootcut

    634 = Straight leg

    S = Selvedge

    1XXX = Black

    XXX-B = Overdye

    106 = Women's TomBoy

    526 = Type 3 Selvedge Jacket

    527 = Riders Jacket

    SEXIH01 = Self Edge x Iron Heart Indigo

    SEXIH01BK = Self Edge x Iron Heart Overdye Black

  7. if i were to come in on march 30th with an old pair of jeans and some scissors can we pretend that i was able to skip school and stay till april 8th? yeah probably not, but ill probably visit anyways, and coincidentally bring the earnest sewns to die.

    They wouldn't be put to death, they'd be brought back to life.

    2007 = Year of the short shorts

  8. A guy came into Self Edge today wearing Coated Slim Jims in Distressed Grey and they looked really cool, even for distressed jeans they looked really nice.

    that's all that i have to add to this..

  9. We have quite a few local motorcycle riders come into Self Edge only to buy Iron Heart jeans and jackets because they get a kick out of the fact that all the labels and theme behind Iron Heart is based around motorcycles..

  10. Wow, an industry person with no credentials, please enlighten us all. Tell us all the cost of Japanese reproduction, collaboration denim. How much per silver button?

    Seriously, if you are not sitting in on the deal between Kiya and Iron Heart, please shut the fuck up.

    here's what this guy just PM'd me with:

    funny how it seems to be a crime to give your opinion on an internet forum these days. you offended I think charging close to $400 for a pair of jeans is too much when you pay $40-50 to have them made?

    40 to 50? go back to producing your swap meet jeans.
