I agree that the thread should not have been shut down, despite the fact that it was pointless and idiotic. There are some truly horrible fits that show up here and even though its unconstructive to get on their asses in public and ridicule them, that's just the price you pay for posting pictures of yourself on the internet. IMO the thread should remain.

Count me in as a 5EP fan. I have both the bootleg and the straight leg resin. Awesome jeans. The color is also unique as it has almost a greenish cast to it.

The straight down zips do have a green cast to the dye. Look at the fading on the inside pockets and you should see a distinct green color. The Low Down Boots are their standard indigo mix. Both are awesome.

I love my 5EPs. They're about a year old now and by far my best pair that I've owned. BTW I'm Brian SD on Styleforum for those who didn't know. The color is great - a blend of natural and synthetic indigo is what creates the awesome variation in color hue between the dark and faded areas.

Anyway, just felt I should answer to this:

This is not slubby stuff. (Frankly, while slubby has an interesting tactile appeal, it is also evidence of a lower quality thread and textile. It may be an interesting jean material, but it ain't high end.)

I agree that the 5EP denim is beautiful stuff, but it's not necessarily true that slubby = lower quality. Slubby just indicates variation in the thickness of the warp thread, and is unrelated to the quality of the cotton.

Not sure if it's un-kosher to drop this down here, but for you guys interested in 5EP, we're doing a collabo with them at SF and the jeans will be out this summer. They'll be sold in several stores in the USA as well as on our website, thus they'll be available to everyone and not just SF members.

The cut will be similar to the low down boot, slightly slimmer in the seat and thighs, a lower rise, and a slightly tapered leg. The front pockets will be a bit more shallow and the back pockets slightly smaller.

So anyone interested in picking up some 5EPs might want to wait around just a couple more months here and pick up the SFx5EP jeans. They will not have any branding for Styleforum on them, just a stamp in the inside front pocket.

Disagree. The earth is going to be around until it gets swallowed up by the sun. It can take meteors crashing into it, nuclear bombs, and it can definitely take global warming. It will be around billions upon billions of years after humans are extinct. There's no reason to help the environment for the environment's sake because in a couple million years it's gonna cycle around through new dominant life forms and in the end it doesn't matter, for the earth.

That said, we need to protect humanity and other life on this planet. You guys talk about saving Africa? Well they're gonna be getting the shittiest end of the stick if things continue the way they are. There will be catastrophic consequences if something isn't changed, it's not simply "a few extra degrees." As the report shows, there is a small (<5%) chance that it cannot be helped by human change. So basically you've got a 10-shooter with 9 bullets in it. Do you want to play Russian roulette with that?

And Milspex, Republican propaganda websites do not normally qualify as "news." In the same way that Inconvenient Truth is just an over-sensational simplified view on the topic of global warming and its causes, this trainwreck of a film is equally sensational and as proven by a minute amount of research, based on evidence and quotes taken out of the proper context, and largely false.

Lastly, saying someone's sources are invalid and unqualified does not constitute an ad hominem attack. Just FYI.
