  1. Kapital, Sugar Cane (not visible), Ooe…and Blundstones which aren’t my fave but the default choice for shitkicking in the mud season here.
  2. If they did a type 1 or 2 I’d have a really hard time passing on it - I went looking for one before but came up empty, unsurprisingly.
  3. Based on this I don’t see SE Austin being a good thing for you in any way haha.
  4. @Alec Leamas I still have a hard time dropping off my son but more than a year in I am sure it has been the best thing for him. His socialization skills have wildly improved, his imagination has grown in ways it wouldn't have at home, and most of all, he's been able to learn from more people that are not his two parents and while we do our best and contain multitudes, we cannot show him everything. It gets easier, but it never gets easy. Everyone is different, but in general I think it's quite good for the kids and harder for the parents.
  5. I kinda like 'em. I almost never use 2 back pockets at the same time. For me, that is no way to live life and means I need a shoulder bag. I like the jacket better, but it's too close to my FW '22... My stable has already grown too big, but I can't rule them out totally. Curious to know more about the actual denim I think...
  6. In a quick attempt to be more useful attached are OA 01’s in a size 31. You can see the waist had to stretch as evidenced by the fly buckling outwards. I don’t mind this. It did stretch no problem. They are very comfortable. The cut is full enough that the waist was really the only point of concern. Now, a belt helps a bit but I don’t tend to wear one. I got the 03s in a 32 but have not washed them yet. I expect them to be a little loose throughout and the waist to feel about the same it will just need to stretch less. I can comfortably wear a 29 or a 30 from WH, FC, and sugar cane/mf. With those it comes down to the cut, not the waist. My WH 1003xx are a 29 but that is their fuller cut, for example. For slimmer cuts a 30 is usually better just for seat/thigh room - not the waist per se.
  7. Ooe tags run 1.5-2 sizes smaller than your normal Japanese brand. YMMV but I find SC fairly true to size.
  8. Railcar makes women’s, but I’m not sure about their current offerings. so does Raleigh Denim, but they’re comically overpriced even as they’re quite well made. Honestly I’d try a pair of fullcount 0105s - I’ve thought about getting a pair for my wife.
  9. A few places I've ordered from have done that by default, but I've never had an order over 800...or really even that close I think. But to be honest I don't think I could ask that of a seller. If I were a seller and a buyer asked it of me I wouldn't love it. Different strokes, I guess.
  10. Fwiw, FullCount 0105 in a lot of varieties are quite reasonable (by Japanese denim standards) when paying Japanese retail which isn’t too tough to find. About 180-190 USD.
  11. I may have been a snob, but Oni was one of the first raw denim brands I was familiar with, so I was definitely no expert. Doesn’t take any familiarity to see that marketing was just goofy.
  12. I recently finished Septology. It’s about 700 pgs and one of my favorite things I’ve ever read. Learning how to live well with downtime is a rare enough skill that doing just that seems like the ticket. Last idea is if you’ve got any space where you live, rip up (part of?) your lawn and plant native plants or pollinators. That’s an easy enough and rewarding hobby for sure.
  13. The mysterious old denim master marketing schtick I found quite ridiculous. That was enough to turn me off completely. But coupled with cuts that had no appeal to me (at least when I looked a few years ago), and the nature of the denim itself all made it clear it was for someone else. I had a pair of PBJ once and that was too much for my tastes. I’m sure it’s nice stuff but I just wouldn’t prefer it.
  14. Sorry for the double post but eclipse yesterday. We didn’t get totality here but at 98.5% coverage it was still pretty wonderful. FW/FC/Tender
  15. Not too often I've a record of myself made by someone else but my friend got me over the weekend in a FW Tux. jacket is the s516xx and 601 1951's I just posted in the FW thread.
