@Broark that’s good - nice to get a second chance on something. it’s a pretty unique piece, but still easy to wear with the usual staples.

i recently purchased a used pair of Ooe 1202xx made approximately 8 years ago. trying to learn more about this pair, i’ve been looking through these pages at all of the great Ooe photos, and it’s been great! so nice to see the evolution of Ryo and Hiro’s work, as well as people’s enthusiasm for it. so thanks to all who have contributed here, i really enjoyed going through all your posts and pictures.
anyway, i wore a bunch of Ooe today, and i thought i would post a photo of it to share with all the other Ooe fanboys and girls, present and future.
wearing the OA01 from 2018, featuring the short-lived but gorgeous XX2 denim, as well as the moleskin cossack windbreaker.

This would be amazing.
@StrangeNeil @mrsmiff please make this happen. we’ve suffered now with years of Trump politics, Brexit, the death of Prince and Bowie, and even a “Roseanne” reboot. good god, the world needs a pair of black ooe denim right now.

@mrsmiff oh, interesting! well, you really have to admire Ryo and Hiro’s meticulous attention to detail and dedication to their craft. can’t wait to see the new batch. also, i have to say that a black denim OA02 is on my list of dream items i hope to see one day

@mrsmiff ha! came hear to see if i could glean the differences between the OAXX2 and XX3 denims. sounds like they’re pretty similar! which is great, because i think that OAXX2 was pretty special. any other details about how the new and prior differ?

I would certainly be down for an Ooe contest. Would prefer an 01, 02, or 03 cut.
Also, I’m a skinny guy that doesn’t wear big boots or have big calves, but the 01 cut still looks and feels so good on!
I’ve been wearing my pair of OA01 in the new OAXX2 denim for about 2 months. Does anyone feel like it fades a bit more quickly than expected? Maybe I just got used to the slow fades of the Golden Gate denim... Anyway love it all, fades or not.

@FeloniousMonk you see, it’s posts like this that make me want to quit buying denim...and just wear the stuff i already have. see what i did there? Ooe makes my favorite denim, hands down. thanks for sharing the photo!

i ended up soaking today and just now tried them on again. i could probably squeeze into a 31 given how stretchy the denim is. also could have cool soaked and they wouldn’t have shrunk as much.

@tigermilk do they fit the same as your golden gates? I'm hoping that they fit looser since I didn't size up haha
@goodrain my immediate impression is that they are a bit snugger in the waist. i only tried them on quickly though. i found that the golden gates are a bit looser after two hot water soaks than my DB01's as well. i'll try them on again tomorrow and let you know if i have any second thoughts.

Ha! I won't say I haven't thought about soaking them at least 20 times in the past 2 days. I picked up a couple of pairs of jeans recently (so much for willpower), so I'm trying to give each pair a little love before moving on to the next. Also, trying to keep the Golden Gates #1 in my rotation for now while the weather is still cool. To be fair, the OA01's are hanging prominently in my closet, and I have more than once walked by just to handle and smell them. TMI?

Loved reading this. Thanks for sharing!

I've tried them on of course! Just waiting to soak them until the weather is a little warmer. I've got plenty 'o denim going on in the meantime.

I've got mad love for 70's chucks. It's like cookies and milk with vintage-inspired denim. I recently picked up this pair of 70's Chucks inspired by the Chuck Taylor debut at the Berlin 1936 Olympics. A white version was worn by the team USA that year. Incidentally, also the first year basketball was featured in the Olympics . Anyway, go team.

@MileHighEvertonian Really love the look of these. I flirted with grabbing a pair, but the color sold out quite quickly. I have tried on the shoe in other colorways, but the fit didn't seem to work for my foot. Anyway, really appreciate your look there.

Fit looks great, @tigermilk Did you follow the sizing advice S&S provides for these jeans, i.e. to size up 2 from your usual size? If not, how did you size them? Does the denim have some stretch to it, or does it feel like it's going to stay put after it shrinks?
Thank you, @Josh'N'Roll! I got a size 32, and I typically wear a size 30 or 31 in denim. I'm finding the denim has stretched already with a few wears. I will likely do one more hot soak when the weather improves a bit, and leave it at that. Definitely size up one or two from your usual with Ooe.
