  1. While I wouldn't mind some instant gratification fade wise with the Okinawa I decided to get the Cone. I can see future runs being done up with Okinawa, not so much with the Cone denim?. The detailing of the jacket made me want to pick it over the Okinawa as well for some reason.

Though I have a feeling I would've been happy either way I decided.

Interesting point on higher contrast jacket fades, and I have to agree I am not a huge fan of that either after thinking about it. I imagine more water contact would mitigate it though.

@SmokeStackLightning the MF is just about my favourite piece of clothing. Everything about it is great imo - the cut, awesome denim, fades great to a lovely blue hue, full of little features like the under collar fabric... there are pics over on the MF thread... worth taking a peek there.

The Stevenson does, however, also look very nice... let us know what you decide...

The Ranch Blouse is winning the race so far, the Okinawa fabric looks great. After wearing my type 2 I realized I want the front pockets even lower and easier to use. Which is why I started looking again.

    The details are fantastic.

  3. Wearing the 36mm Date just made me realize how much more comfortable smaller watches are. One of my favorites now, can't beat the price with a stick, wish it had barometric pressure readings and I would be set as far as work watches.

You know, I can probably make them work but Im just looking for a more comfy fit for this one. I think that it's roughly TTS and my foot might have just got a bit bigger in the past couple years, and its just weird moving up sizes so I didn't...

Imo it fits like a 9.5 in the 70s. Maybe a 9 but I haven't worn my 9 in a while. Not sure if I still have them...

Freaking awesome shoes though... they look and feel perfect!

9.5 is my size in Converse 70's. I could be interested if you ever decide to sell them.

    I'm sure they are awesome.

    Good stuff guys!

Im bummed... I preordered those new red leather sneakers in a 27.5, but I think I might need a 28. Anyone interested in buying, selling, or trading?

How does the 27.5 correlate to a Converse 70 size or fit wise? (roughly).

Can you tell me what size you ordered and what size you typically wear and how much they shrunk?

Would you choose to buy raw instead of one-soak the next time?

My long time habit with LVC 501 is to wear them raw for quite awhile but not sure how to break in SugarCane 50/50 unwashed. On the 501's, not soaking at first gives me a high contrast fade and it seems like they don't shrink as much once I finally do soak them but I don't know if this translates to SC 50/50 denim.

    Thanks

I went with a size 33, while I typically wear a 34 in most other brands. The waist will easily stretch back to raw and then some if needed. I lost probably close to 3 inches in the inseam with a hot wash.

The amount of indigo that came off was really quite surprising during the wash. I prefer raw just for the fun of it all, but buying a one wash would give you more certainty.

The top block almost feels rounded, in comparison to say the Okinawa. They have quite a bit of room, so they are not very slim. Maybe you could size down 1 from your typical Sugar Cane or normal size?

History Preservation also carries both raw and one wash, if ordering in the United States makes you more comfortable. I used Pants Shop Avenue, and enjoyed the experience.

  7. That jacket is a great find.

Brand new and raw, nicely done. Wish they still offered just the straight forward type II and type III's like they made in the past.

Anyone have indigo watch cap recommendations? Maybe not even just indigo, just some different colors. I have my Buzz x William Gibson one that sees a lot of action, but I want something with a little bit of color to change things up. I know 3Sixteen makes one, just want to explore other options.

I have two Knickerbocker ones, both all cotton. I still wear them pretty much all winter.

Seems they updated them this year, they look thicker now.

I have both the 50's and natural indigo hawaiis in 32. The hawaiis are fine, but I wish I had taken a 33 in the 50's.

Thanks. Kind of leaning towards a 33 so I can use the dryer if I want to.

I'll probably get a pair. Will wait a little while though and try them on first.

^ Do you have any other size references Smoked? I would probably go with a 33 if you're between sizes.

Size 33 in Sugar Cane Hawaii is about the closest thing I have to compare. They certainly aren't tight anywhere.

@SmokeStackLightning I had no issue wearing them during the summer.  I would go with the 32 and the roping is a fun perk of this denim, I would stick with TCB's in-house hemming if you want this characteristic that TCB does really well.

I decided to get the ranchman from denimio for a fantastic deal with their sale going on instead of the 50s. The small amount of money saved getting the 50s from denimio after factoring in sending them off to be hemmed isn't worth it after more thought.

I am going to do exactly as you wrote and wait and go through TCB directly for the 50s, once I decide on sizing. Only thing that worries me is the hip area.

They seem to fit so many people so well when hemmed and cuffed to no break.

  12. How do the TCB 50s do in the summer?

I was thinking of getting a rigid pair from the TCB site, mostly to have that wonderful roping from their hem work.

Trying to decide what size. The denimio measurements suggest I could do a 32 or 33. Leaning towards a 32 since it seems the 50s stretch and every jean I've ever had, the waist goes back to raw (thigh etc. will still have plenty of room while downsizing).

Edit: Denimio sale is making me reconsider, %18 off....

Wonder if Indigo Proof could replicate his hem work.

  13. I've been meaning to update.

I've taken a liking to the higher rise and have been enjoying them quite a bit actually since giving them a chance. The itchiness left after about a full day of wear, and the color and details are just too good to pass on.

  14. I finally have a decent type 2, basically only good for spring/fall or summer nights outside here in PA.

Wanting to get wear on the type 2 is what's holding me back on the TCJ. Like a type 2, the TCJ will only get better with heavy wear.

I would likely wear it early season waterfowl hunting instead of my old tree bark camo M65, which is purely a hunting jacket and never used casually.

IH posted a sample of a Type I in their black X beige denim. I'm quite excited about that. I love the fab pic and it pairs well with indigo jeans. I used to wear a black Levi's trucker jacket when I was a kid...

Now, here's hopping they don't tweak the measurements too much...

You mean an overall length of 30-ish with 28 inch sleeves??

Seems to be their common theme unfortunately.

    Agree 100%

And comfortable too, sometimes that gets a little overlooked, this will look cool and be wearable every day.

How did you size? According to the Hinoya measurements is fit a medium, but am very suspicious about this.

I did not order yet as I am still deciding if I would wear it enough. Seems they are a bit oversized to better replicate the look and feel of the originals.

I would go for an XL for more shoulder movement and sleeve length I think.
