I just want to highlight the awesome customer service of Jelado right now.

Even though I posted a recent waywt of a Jelado flannel that fits very well, two months ago I had a mishap of ordering the wrong small size and even attempted/deleted a ebay ad for the shirt.

Kuma from Jelado not only accepted the exchange of the size large for an XL, but he was also able to get the shirt from the Jelado Hideout store in Shibuya, even though the main webstore/store out of Tokyo was sold out of the size.

It took some money, shipping, and emailing back and forth, but I was able to get the awesome flannel in a great size.  I didn't have to buy a new shirt.  It's currently my favorite flannel right now.

It's very hard to get an exchange from Japan shops online, so that's why I'm highlighting this brand for the above and beyond customer service.  I know a few USA stores that could pick up a thing or two about good customer service, IMO.

    Thanks Jelado!

Wow that is indeed some great service. I (like many others I assume) order overseas and from Japan expecting no exchanges. Gotta know your stuff or rely on trusted sellers such as Self Edge or Rivet and Hide etc (which we all have time and time qagain, they provide a great service).

But sometimes they don't happen to have an item we may want. That's great they made the exchange with you and the trust involved with this.

Okay, so what's the protocol for getting on preorders from 2nd? Decided I'm gonna go for the re-release of the diamond sneakers, but not sure whether to send an email as outlined @ https://www.rakuten.ne.jp/gold/2nd/order-sp-r.htm or to go directly through Rakuten's ordering system.

Add it to your chart, checkout.

You will recieve a Japanese email. Shortly after, 2nd will then send you a link to pay with PayPal, and will send a tracking number.

The only thing that gives me pause on that fit is the butt area. Looks like you don’t even have one... not sure if all your jeans look like that, but if you have a BUNCH of room everywhere (and you have hot washed these) maybe a size down could better give you the fit you’re looking for.

Yup agree... I have basically no ass to speak of, so this isn't breaking news for me lol. If I hike these up higher it looks better.

In theory these are not meant to be worn on the hip for me it seems.

I can get a couple fingers in the waist on these, have a bunch of room to spare in every other area. Going to wait and see how I like wearing a higher rise jean for once with these though.

  4. Yeah these are my 3005-S, to those that weren't sure or have asked.

I was eyeing the Self Edge ones now. Would be half an inch less in the waist, and throughout the entire leg. The back rise would also be an inch shorter approximately.

  5. Been wearing these the past two weeks basically any chance I can get. I have put off on getting them hemmed still, I just don't want to go with out them at the moment.

But, I'm wondering if I should size down. These definitely serve a purpose and are awesome, but sometimes I feel like they would look better and still be a nice straight fit if they were a touch slimmer throughout the entire leg.

To me they fit like the 70s Chucks, which is about a full size bigger than Vans imo.

    I wear

    size 8 in FH sneakers

    size 8 in 70s Chucks

    size 8 in Lofgren sneakers

    size 9 in Vans/Nike

    Thanks.

I have a pair of 70's so it may be best to just go with that same size.

Did the FH's stretch much being leather?

I have the FH sneakers in the largest size (10) and it fits about the same as my true size in Converse/Vans (11.5.) I think most people will want to go down one full US size from those shoes.

I found a conversion chart, and like you said the biggest size is a 10 they offer when converted.

Good info on downsizing these. Seems I would want a size 9 or so.

  8. I found a brand new Flat Head WR western flannel for a good price and decided to get it. Hoping the sizing works out. Since they are not continuing the WR fit I figured best to just get it.

Curious to see how much more room the WR fit offers.

TFH 3002 is on my way, maybe one or two more days before I receive them. I chose size 34, because I have a 33 inch waist (measure Rivertandhide), I do not have a hot water wash machine,

Do you have any advice for me?

Time to put them in hot water?

    and with what temperature?

If you do not have a hot washing machine, I recommend a "hot hand wash". Use warm/hot water in the tub and very heavily agitate the denim with your hands like a machine would periodically throughout the soak.

Hey Kiya, I bought the Lady White Co Oarsman shirt from your warehouse sale a year ago and love it.  The wide neck really fits well on me.  What would you suggest doing in keeping them white when washing?  I'm seeing the dreaded yellow stains in the armpits area. I have the worst luck in keeping white tshirts white.

I would try Felsnaptha soap as well. It works on everything for me, I bet it would work.

Couple bucks for a bar, it's the best stain lifter I've ever used. Wet the bar and stain, rub on the stain then wash the garment.

I gave my 3005s their first wash @ one month of wear. They weren't dirty or anything, but I thought I'd try more frequent washes with this pair, using the warm wash setting on my machine and Woolite Dark. The denim feels very stiff and crunchy, and already some bright blue vertical streaks are coming out. I think I'll get some nice contrast with these despite more frequent washing than past pairs.

While they were hanging up to dry, I wore my 3009s out for the first time. Somehow these 3009s seem to look much better than my first pair, with a mini-cuff and no break they looked super clean with my white sneakers and a tee. They seem to have more taper in the leg, maybe. I forgot to snap some pics, but they looked and felt great. It's really tempting to wear these, especially since they work with low top sneakers a lot better than my 3005s, but I'm going to try to focus on just one pair.

Compared to my first 3009s, which used all-orange stitching, the yellow stitches around the pocket and elsewhere really make the jeans stand out more, but in a really good way. Also, the 3009 is very clearly a different cut, not just a 3005 with a tapered leg. The 3009 has a slightly lower rise and maybe a bit more width in the lower hip/upper thigh. I feel the top block of the 3005 is a bit more "balanced," but both look good.

If I designed a FH jean, at this point, I think I'd take the 3005, give it a longer rise so it sat at true waist like a repro pair, and give just the slightest taper from the knee down, so the hem would be about 8" rather than 9" or so.

Nice update. I have been tempted to hot wash mine again to try and shrink them back up since they have stretched a bit now.

I use to have the 3009 in the same tag size and remember the hip area feeling much tighter along with the waist in comparison to the same tag size in the 3005 i wear now.

I wear all of my jeans on the hip to high hip area.

  12. This thread reminded me I need to start wearing the 3005's more than I do.

My 3001's are really starting to come along, but the front pocket stitching is already broke. Indigo Proof will be getting them whenever it is my turn. I will have to post some pictures but they are aging fast I think.

Hoping the 3005 stitching lasts longer, not as tight a fit so I'm assuming it would.

I just got back my FLAT HEAD BSP-AI SELF EDGE NATURAL INDIGO JEANS from being hemmed at SELA.

I got a size 36 even though I'm usually a 33 or sometimes a 32. I think these jeans really did shrink a ton in the wash.

I would definitely recommend sizing up from whatever you normally get. I'll have fit-pics tomorrow! If anyone needs measurements, I'm also happy to do that as well.

I would be curious to see pre and post measurements if you have them.

I have the DVD, no idea about the digital version. Haven't watched it in a long time, but it's enjoyable. In case you didn't know, it's by the same guy who did Weaving Shibusa.

I forgot about that one, perfect watch for the bad weather all weekend.

I may shoot the guy an email, I wouldn't mind seeing some of the OG posters etc in Warp and Weft still.

Looking for a bit of help here, would it be possible to get the hem measurement of the PBJ XX-019-BB in size 38 at 32 in.?
Feel like these might be too tapered but I've lost a ton of weight so they might work sized up one. Starting a new job soon and could use some black jeans for work.

I've used this before, seems to be pretty spot on.

  16. I'm assuming they would be stubborn to fade. I've never liked the overly dark and almost black appearance new denim can have, and think they look sweet. Blue arcs are cool too.

Sadly, I have too many pairs at the moment and can't swing them. I kind of wish the thigh was a touch slimmer but you can't have everything.

Yeah, I think they sat in a closet for quite a while. Unfortunately they're a bit too slim for me.

If these had a button fly I would be all over them.

Does your DJ have a roulette date wheel? Aside from really wanting a GMT, I really, really want a watch with a roulette date wheel, and I think DJs remain undervalued by the market at large.

Now if the Pelagos LHD was GMT too...

Yes it does. All of the current white dials do I believe. And maybe some other colors but I can't remember off hand.

They are getting rid of the hidden crown clasp (who knows about the date wheel) on future DJ's.

The used market is ridiculous for them right now. $4,000-5,000 for 10+ year old DJ's. I paid a tiny bit more and got new with box, plastics and warranty card from DavidSW.

Once the market comes back down I'll get a two tone I think.
