  1. Meh, he had the jeans stitched that way after all so if he had anticipated anything like this he could have refused. Not your fault.

I don't really get how you can be so protective of your own rip off to threaten TCB this way, that's what gnomes meant I think. Most 20s have been sold overseas where this other brand would be in hot waters with their design themselves. What a joke.

They deduct the VAT (20% in France) for US online orders so it's less than that. When I ordered from them in Nov. (better exchange rate then) even with €25 shipping it came to about €216/$250. Not a huge savings, but I've been hunting down the remaining '78s in my size worldwide so it wasn't about cost. I like to think I now have a 30-year supply of them. In a previous life, I must have been a terrier.

I see, makes sense. I forgot about the no VAT for non-EU customers.

Looking at the measurements for the D306 it looks like TFH have changed how they tag/measure? Usually TFH tag size is the size they are presoak? A 32 will measure 32 then shrink to about 30 if I'm correct? The New models seem to be tagged at the size they will shrink to?

D306 looks spot on measurements for me but am resisting the urge!

My F380 definetely shrank to tag, not from tag.

    didn’t know about it...⚡️

    getting techs to investigate...

    Awesome!

I noticed we kept bitching about it instead of trying to get it solved, it really bothers me when people do this at work but I haven't been any better myself here :D ("my browser always crashes" - "so have you opened a ticket with help desk yet?" - "meh, too lazy")

  5. I just tried to upload a pic from mobile but got the "something went wrong" error again, this is getting really annoying. Does anyone a the solution for this?  Do sufu admins even know about this?

Anyhow, jeans are coming along nicely, not Karl territory but sure as hell fast. I'm 12 wears in since the last wash and I'm trying to get to 100 before next wash, only 28 days to go :D

There any other makers who do something similar to Ian Hubb as seen in this pic i.e. sewn on decorations on the belt? I swore I saw a decent amount of brands who did something similar but I can't find them now.

http://leathergoodsconnection.com/ does stitched belts and a lot more, fully customisable. I can't speak to their belt leather quality but craftmanship and wallet leather are fine. (I don't have one of their belts, but a wallet that is going strong for almost 4 years now.)

^ even if it's asos the trouser fit is on point

Thanks. They're really, really slim and tapered though and I'd prefer a straighter fit myself for more boot options. For a suit I wear 1-2 times a year max it's fine though.

  8. Just returned a size M sack coat from last season, was 90€ on Levis.com after sale and additional coupon - was too big and now size s is sold out, bummer because for the price I quite liked the jacket. I attempted an exchange, maybe I'm lucky and someone returned a size s.

Thanks @Cucoo. Did it darken your leather?

I didn't notice any darkening on a brown jacket and nothing dramatic on my wallet or other natural leather items. So, not any more than any treatment would do I guess.

Thanks for the recommendation @Iron Horse. I want to give it some TLC so it continues going strong and sees me through this life at least! So I'll give it a clean with saddle soap. I've never used Mustang Paste and have just seen that DC4 sell it - not cheap at 50 Euro a pot but it's good you recommend it and I do like the write up.

You don't need to pay that much, you can get horse oil conditioner for cheaper:

I had a tub of that stuff, works great, I used most of it on an old leather jacket but for smaller items like treating a wallet every few years it'll last quite a while.

I've just bought a cheapo new stereo for myself, after a massive blackout fucked up my old Marantz amplifier and Pioneer cd player.
Unfortunately today's finances are not the same my dad had when he bought me that setup 20 yrs ago. I bought a Auna set up under suggestion of an audiophile friend who knows I'd rather spend on jeans! Really good for the price. That's the amplifier CD508, works a charm with my old big Bose speakers (which are the only part of the hifi that the blackout didn't fuck up, even the lp player is gone...).

sorry for OT, you all know how keen your friend volvo is for general bang for the buck discussions so I had to share one of my cheapskate finds.

Losing something like a Marantz amp that way really sucks!

I'm all for bang for buck myself ;) I'm happy with my dad's Quadral speakers and Dual turntable. I have two great late-70s receivers by Pioneer and Yamaha, both ran fine for years but are in dire need of an overhaul by now. So right now my trusty fall-back amplifier is running things, I bought a Yamaha AX-380 with my first own money from jobbing after school in the mid 90s and it hasn't shown a single sign of aging so far. "They don't build 'em like that anymore :D "

I will have that huge CR-2020 overhauled soon though, because nothing beats that satisfying feeling of full metal switches and knobs...
