  1. looks great. I haven't bought one as I definitely like more the type 3. Really hope Hajime will come up with a boa/sherpa lined type 3 next year

  2. There are loads of fit pics in the TCB 40s contest thread.

Fit wise, pretty similar to the 50s BUT

    - rise is higher
    - hem width is a touch smaller

Winter has arrived to my part of Sweden. Quite a few degrees below and quite a lot of snow. Jeans are really getting there. Didn’t remember to take a photo but the whiskers wrap around all the way to the back pockets, something I haven’t encountered before.

quality fades in the making, well done chap.

  4. it's very likely that American Classics has some raw jackets while Tcb doesn't.

I know that tcb doesn't sell anymore the raw 50s but still makes them for American Classics.

Hmm. I got a pair of 50s 1 wash from Tempo, size 36 & the waist was pretty close to 36.

true that. both 50s pairs I have started a smidgen under 36 (around 35,5) and stretched to 36. they could be stretched a bit more up to 36,5, but no more than that.

I wear Roy straight leg style (RS04 etc.) – I have other LVC jeans but the Roy is closest to what I'm after. Thanks for the recommendations. Where can I purchase the 50's in raw?

BTW: how do you size the 50s? – I'm looking at a 1 wash pair of 36 and apparently the waist measures 33.5!!

tcb stretches to size. Eg 50s size 36 will stretch to be 36 once worn.

I can send you the photo proof of it ; )

  7. the s40s starts smaller than the 50s but with wear the waist stretches to the same waist of the 50s in the same size. at least that's what happened with my pair.

top 50s, bottom s40s, pic is bad but you get the idea.

I got Dean from Yorkshiresole to improve my ‘Ron’ Wolf Hunters by giving them some Dr Sole’s - they used to have a white wedge sole which I thought was ok all those years back when I bought them, but in truth it’s not a great solution and I’m much happier now.

The quality of work is good - value for money for sure. I don’t think he’s been doing this type of boot for long, but I remember Brian the Bootmaker and his earlier work ... Dean is better IMO, but the thing that has impressed me most was the communication. Dean actually called me to discuss options and get a ‘feel’ for things, he’s also emailed and texted throughout the process - communication is worth it’s weight in gold as far a business is concerned. Trust and integrity always comes first.

could you post a profile pic? It looks like the heel is not stacked and not woodman's style too, correct? I've considered doing something similar on one of my pairs too.

I can't stand anymore the woodman heel. I am not sure if there is a relation of sorts but since I've started to run consistently (about 4 times per week) about 2 yrs ago the higher heeled boots started to cause me knee pain. They're fine for a short walk/running errands, dreadful on a long day walking or even just standing.

  9. I remember the first pair fit changed a lot in the first month's, the fabric was a bit stiff and after a couple washes the denim draped better.

  10. You mean they hang off your legs a bit like they're flared?

My first pair didn't, the second one does. I don't mind much actually, I kinda like it.

I think I want to buy my first pair of TCB!

    Where do I begin?

if you're not afraid of a loose hem width I think the 50s are the best way to start. great cut, great fabric, can be worn all year long
