^ How extensive are the repairs Ben?
I didn't think the jeans were that bad but she is pretty transparent on her website so I guess it wasn't really a surprise and you can choose what you want to have done. I just decided to go through with it all since I've already worn those jeans for like 4-5 years now and still love them, and they have a LOT more wear in them...

Just sent over my jeans to Indigo Proof for repair and holy crap was that way more expensive than I thought it would be. Approaching the cost of the jeans... Maybe I should've done a little more research but I haven't seen anyone do it better than her and they are my favorites...

Thanks man! Like a lot of flat heads stuff the jacket is somewhat of a tricky fit. Larger shoulders and smaller sleeves like normal, although I like that they made the body less slim than their old jackets used to be. Honestly I think that some of the models I've seen on this jacket don't look great because the thinner people wear small sizes because the body is relatively big, but the sleeves are way too short on them. On the other hand, people who need size up a bit will have shoulders that look super dumpy. Works great for me though!

Just got in the new run of their leather jacket. Love the leather and fit! Favorite native check shirt and D105 included. Loving the jeans but unfortunately don't fade 'em like I used to... and really should get them hemmed by now considering theyre like 3 years old..

Im already slacking!
Anyway, thought i could post up what current jeans I'm wearing. Not sure I ever even posted that I got these! I got them a few years ago but I fade jeans way slower now that I'm not in college, and pandemic etc, but they're coming along super nice.
Best way I could describe the denim is just luxurious. For some reason when i first got into denim I didn't like the idea of LHT, but I'm super glad I got these; these are probably my favorite fitting jeans and denim is insanely comfortable and beautiful. I can't wait to see these super worn!

Ha... I feel bad now – I rummaged around upstairs and found the shirt, but mondo jr has claimed it. I'd forgotten he'd started to take an interest in clothing... at 13, he's 6' with a 30" waist (the bastard) and will easily eclipse me in the coolness stakes if he hasn't already. As it should be!
Nice to see fresh Cold Summer posts in the FH thread, though! All we need is itsbenhere to have bought up all the legacy items out there before new production kicks in..
You rang?
But actually, I do have some new stuff I could post that I've got over the years... I should get around to that! Like Cold Summer, some big life changes, so just fell off posting here for some reason...

Damn that left hand twill looks so good. I need to wear mine more!

Actually, when I was in Japan and saw Kobayashi I think I may have stumbled into one of those events. There were some samples of leather goods there that were dyed with indigo (natural?) and Kobayashi was speaking to some customers about something (in Japanese...). It felt like an intimate event where you could learn more about the manufacturing process and then make a custom order.

Damn... RIP. This one hurts.

Those are looking great Aeries. I'll have to post mine up!
And lol, did we ever figure out why ed hates lofgren boots so much?

That's a shame, those are such nice looking boots. I'd love to see how your bucos are doing though!

Gotcha. Yeah, I’ve tried to spread the gospel to a lot of people but ultimately it’s up to the individual to be interested in it and, unfortunately, not everyone is!
also, I’m about to blow your mind. Sign up for Scott’s Cheap Flights to get insane deals emailed to you. I flew to japan direct on American for about 500 round trip. Technically 350 because I booked using points from a credit card!

Thanks for the love guys!
@Cold Summer Yeah, those are my D105s. Super comfy as usual and I'm loving how the denim is coming along. Unfortunately, I do less walking nowadays, so they're not nearly as far along as they should be considering I've had them for about 2.5 years. That's awesome that you're going there! How long's it been since you were there last? Do your brothers like Flat Head/raw denim too? Also man are they lucky to have you. I forgot how difficult it was to do stuff in Japan when you speak 0 Japanese...
Thanks @mpukas! Will definitely post some more pics in the boot thread. They are grail boots for me too, and definitely much too expensive for what they are, but honestly after 5+ years without seeing engineer boots I liked nearly as much, I just bit the bullet. I'm very happy with that decision, though! They're super comfy and just have the perfect profile imo.

So, I was able to head to Japan and thanks to the great people at Flat Head I was able to experience some really cool stuff. Also thanks to @dudewuttheheck for giving me the idea in the first place.
First, I saw Kobayashi-san (again) in Tokyo.
Then, I headed to Nagano for a couple days and did two things I really wanted to do at some point in my life: eat at Googie's Cafe and snap some of the pics I've seen millions of times at the classic Flat Head spots.
The food, unsurprisingly, was amazing. I got a weird pizza with apples on it and it was really sweet and delicious.
This pic is in the front of the diner in Nagano, with Horriuchi-San who was kind enough to show me around for a couple hours.
Then, I saw where they make all their small leather goods. It's honestly insane when you realize that its just a room or two, I guess I always kind of knew that but its still pretty shocking when you're actually there and see how small of an operation it is. I think the women there got a kick that I wanted to take a picture with them!
And, lastly, I saw some of Kobayashi's cars, which were super cool.
Definitely had a great time and can't wait to come back again. Didn't buy anything from Flat Head, but I did make one big purchase on the trip...
Buco engineer boots (in the right size!)

Those look sweet dude! Pretty sure they're a natural indigo mix. Should fade very similar to the regular flat head denim with a slightly different color.

Yeah, I’ve been having some pretty major life developments recently so my mind has kind of been off posting...
that would actually be fun. For you guys, who do you remember to be the frequent posters when you first got interested in denim?
For me, I’d say:
bandit
and I’m sure a million others im missing too... always trippy when someone posts after years of not posting!

Thanks dude. Guessing you’re talking about good art, which is amazing, but usually super expensive so for a ball chain necklace I don’t know if it’d be worth it.
Sure do love my bracelet and necklace though!

I don't really post here that much anymore so maybe I'm part of the problem but I'm bummed that many people have transitioned to IG instead of forums like this one... I wonder if my interest would have been piqued in the first place if I only discovered it today. I feel like its so much less intellectual on ig.
Anyway, anyone have any recommendations on silver ball chain necklaces?

You know, I can probably make them work but Im just looking for a more comfy fit for this one. I think that it's roughly TTS and my foot might have just got a bit bigger in the past couple years, and its just weird moving up sizes so I didn't...
Imo it fits like a 9.5 in the 70s. Maybe a 9 but I haven't worn my 9 in a while. Not sure if I still have them...
Freaking awesome shoes though... they look and feel perfect!

Good stuff guys!
Im bummed... I preordered those new red leather sneakers in a 27.5, but I think I might need a 28. Anyone interested in buying, selling, or trading?

In my opinion, if you don't want a crazy taper, do not go for the 767. I thought that it had the most drastic taper of any jeans I've ever owned. I think the 737 looks like a good cut.

So I'm starting a tutoring company, and obviously I have to have a logo... so I'm making my logo, and looking for a kind of vintage feel for the typeface. I look through all the fonts on pages and settle on one I really like, just for a stylized "B". I then write out my name and notice that it looks verrrry familiar... so, I type out "The Flat Head" and, wouldn't you know it, but I chose the exact same font that Flat Head uses! For anyone wondering, it's "Brush Script MT", designed in 1942 by Robert E. Smith for American Type Founders.

Anyone jump on the D1866? I've been wanting some hank dyed since the D1677 but those had a ball-bustingly low rise, would love if anyone had any first-hand experience with fit
