Can this topic be moved to the Small Questions Thread, please.

Please read the Denim Encyclopedia thread (before creating new threads) as it will save uncessarry or duplicate threads from being created. It's pinned to the front page under the Small Questions and the This or That thread.

    Thanks

Initially I’m inclined to agree but honestly, considering superfuture is just about dead should we really discourage people from making new topics?

i never check the small questions or this or that but if a new thread comes up I think it can foster some much needed conversation around here.

Regarding to bike wear or just in general?  I thought the consensus was the brand made denim to withstand motorcycle riding?

I think the inspiration of the brand is motorcycle wear, even though they’ve changed a lot with Giles, but even then most of the stuff is probably as durable as anything else.

To to be fair though, if I was in a crash I’d probably prefer a 22oz super black jacket than my flat head type 2...

  3. I’ve always thought that it didn’t make a lot of sense to buy the nice things we buy purely for longevity. I buy it because I like clothing with character that is designed well, fits well, and only looks better as it ages.

I think that, in many cases, the whole durability thing is really just a story we like to believe is true.

  4. I do say that RJB is my favorite but honestly it might be just because that was always "the one that got away." Flat Head's denim really is just perfect... I think I might prefer the dryer and rougher texture as a fabric but when considering its something that you actually wear the RJB denim is just unbeatable for comfort. I've never had denim this stretchy.

  5. The LHT looks great too but the zimbabwe RHT that came out with the SEXFHXRJB15s were the first denim where I was really like “WOW” after seeing it faded. I even bought a pair that were way too slim because I liked the denim so much. I actually “settled” for the pioneer denim originally because I thought I couldn’t find that RJB denim in a cut that I liked...

Fast forward 5 years, self edge puts the 105BSPs on sale for $110 and I take the risk. And it’s a cut that I like even more than the 3005, and it’s even more comfortable. So I’m really stoked! They don’t fade as fast as I remembered them fading though. Maybe because these ones aren’t obscenely tight...

  6. Honestly though I’m not impressed with this seasons short sleeve shirts. I’ve loved the last couple years but these ones do not do it for me.

One looks like something you’d see at j. Crew and the other from a gas station in Bakersfield.
