  5. @Maynard Friedman looks like some good wear on that there jacket... in fact, it's exactly the kind of thing denim enthusiasts might like to stare at on a denim forum 😉
  6. Near Mam Tor... my fault in hindsight... there were cars parked up on both sides of the road in what I thought were little lay-bys... it turned out my side of the road wasn't a lay-by, the other side was. It was chocka with cars so I thought I'd got lucky a bit further out... parked and went... wrong!! I see what you mean now about the big cars, narrow (and bendy) roads and bellends driving fast <insert fist shaking emoji>
  7. Day 2 in the Peaks with my lad Walked up Mam Tor… the plan had been to do it early but it was lashing down with rain… we so went later and there were tourists everywhere (ironic I know) Next year, I expect to be the smallest A present had been left at the car pfffff Even more ironically, passed this sign driving back… I did feel I’d been… Denime 10th anniversary ‘37s, Tezomeya and McCooys Daisy Mae… plus more meat Next day, we were in the lido at Haversage before 8am... dodging the blue-rinse old dear brigade swimming two abreast like CHiPs... only different as there were no motorbikes in the pool ... it was a invigorating start to the day Haversage main street And a really nice breakfast… (even more upmarket than Sharrow Vale Road Neal!!) Only 48 hours away... but it felt rejuvenating… the end!
  8. Cheers gents... yeah lovely here and probably too much!!
  9. The (now) annual Dad and lad weekend away in the Peak District, infamous OO Soul country Quick pit stop en-route at Porter Coffee on Sharrow Vale road - £17 for 2 butties and £1 for parking - how much! Hardly a Sheffield accent to be heard, southern tones aplenty - gentrification of S-codes? Took the WoMs for a walk around Bamford Edge... totally staged pic looking out over the Hope Valley It's a strictly carnivorous weekend - we packed 4.4kg (yes I weighed it) of ribeye, T-bone, lamb... will we get through it all is the question And a sauna to finish the day off...
  10. Gives us loads of time to get the 🍿 in!

  14. So this was neither of you lads then???
  15. ^ ahhh yes... and a fine part of the world tis too... in fact, me and the lad are somewhere around the Peaks for a couple of days at the end of the month getting away from it all... nice Supremes, the colour is giving me Michael Portillo trouser vibes from Great Railway Journeys Can't beat mango season... reminds me when my daughter was a tiny tot we used to give her Pakistani (and also Indian alfonso) mangoes all mushed up - she'd get so excited she'd do a "mango dance" in her high chair. Certainly worth dancing for imo.
  16. @Le Clown Bleu agreeing with CSL, that's a good fit imo
  17. Never been that SA OO... twas South Africa... would like to some day though Spot on
  18. ^^ depends where you are in the world and who you're with, of course... on my recent-ish stays in ME, SA, India, Bosnia etc the local folk I've been with typically head for shade and keep covered up in the heat. I've just had a milkshake in Leeds student area and there's a smattering of bikinis and vest tops about ^ true... for example my Afro Caribbean mates don't bother with sun screen, they reference their in-built protection... while I'm in factor 50 with a hat in the shade...
  19. Sassafras / Fruit of the Loom / Freewheelers / Warehouse
  20. Each to their own, of course, but I'm good with covering up in summer - usually both legs and arms. But then I don't really go out galavanting when the mercury is high - I typically get out early or late if the temps are cooler then. So many UK folks are soaking up the sun in shorts and t-shirts becoming uncomfortably hot with direct sun on skin... ending up red raw with sunburn - not a cool look imo and even worse given the increasing risk of skin cancer... I hope you boys are wearing your sun screen !! I lived in a hot climate for years. Local folk knew the score and would cover up, stay out the sun and in the shade, stay hydrated etc. The expat Brits would most often do the opposite, ending up looking like lobsters. I've done the latter too much over the years - as a kid, there was not much sun screen going around and a day on the beach, even in the north west, most often meant sunburn. I know my preference. The jeans need to be sensible, of course - lower weight and spacious - I couldn't personally go all Samurai in high temps like I see around the globe - not my bag but good luck to them. Their dedication to the fades is notable but it can't be pleasant.
