Got a PM and email, b_F, thanks. Gives me more time to tweak the blog, cause I'm a perfectionist like that

I e-mailed [email protected]. I actually purchased the shoes from them, so I'm not sure if you can really order them, but I don't see why not. Brenda was the lady that hooked me up.

For those that care and missed the last run: Left Field NYC webstore and Blue in Green have restocked the duck chinos. Hop on it for a nice made in the USA Cone Mills duck pant at a pretty decent price. Left Field seems to stock some larger sizes that BiG does not.

Has anyone ever found where you can buy flat waxed laces for 403s and other boots? I can already tell the speed hooks are going to tear up the regular cotton ones I've been using now.
Edit: well, that's cool. I emailed Aldenshoes.com, where I bought the boots, and they're going to send out some waxed laces today.. Not really sure which ones, but cool nonetheless. Still would like to know where to buy some just in case.

Glad we're back, I got lonely without you all! More incentive for me to finish up this blog. Sorry, I've been so busy with other work. Will have more for you soon!

General hemming question - are we going to get denim that gets cut shipped with the jeans? For any repairs or whatever?

Didn't want to let the cat out of the bag yet, but I am also working on my contribution to the contest tonight... we're going to have an official contest blog that will let all 30 participants post their updates and antics.
At least a blog for all of us to update, and probably a nice gallery and user filter so we can easily view everyone's evolution and trips throughout the year. All wrapped up in a pretty package. Not gonna share the url yet... but stay tuned!
Nicholas, those cuts of leather are looking good... can't wait for all of this to kick off!

I'm thinking of getting a pair of Alden 405s from J Crew, since I have a little store credit to spend. I'm not sure if they'll be in store to try on, so can you guys help with sizing advice?
I've read through the thread, and I'm torn between 8.5D and 9D.
9 in Clarks desert boots
9in Frye chukkas.
The kicker is, I don't think the J Crew 405s come in half sizes. Appreciate the help.

Boot persons question:
I'm thinking of getting a pair of Alden 405s from J Crew, since I have a little store credit to spend. I'm not sure if they'll be in store to try on, so can you guys help with sizing advice? I'm usually a 9.5 in most sneakers, and I'm a 9 in Clarks desert boots, and a pair of Frye chukkas. I was thinking a 9 for the Aldens as well. Appreciate the help.

I know there is a small questions thread, but this is where all the boot people hang out:

This weekend I spent some quality time with the family picking apples in Michigan. My dads side of the family have been coming to the same orchard for over 30 years now, I myself have only been present for 25 - but I haven't missed a weekend yet and I don't think I ever intend to!
It was a bit early forbsome of the new apples, and a bit late for some of my favorites - the honey crisps in particular, but we had a nice time enjoying the weather and eating lunch in the orchard like we always do.
Mutsu apples - great for pies!
We set up our little camp where we always do - in the middle of some rows of red delicious apples. They were a little more tart this year but still good eatin' plus, my dog Olive is not picky when it comes to apples so she was having a great time.
Plenty of room to walk the dogs and hike in the woods a bit - plus you get to see some of the ubiquitous corn of the Midwest!
My brother and I rocked the always comfortable Ooe Yofukuten denim for the trip.

Anyone with the new pointer duck chore coat, does it shrink much after washing?
I'm not sure whether to get size XS or S, and I'm 5'9'', 159.
Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks
You're pretty much me size wise, and I got a small. They've got a pretty nice return and exchange policy if I need to go smaller - 30 days I think. I am curious about shrinking potential though.

I think I've seen pics of them doing kids jeans. You can email them at [email protected]. It's on their blog and shop page.

Pointer is selling Duck Chore coats again. Use "DUCK" and get 10% off.
Awesome, thanks for the heads up. I'm about to grab one but I can't find any info on sizing? Anyone have any help? I was thinking to with a Small since I'm assuming these are cut for working and thus a little looser.

My machine is an old Sears top loader, so that's probably where my irrational fear of creases and my tried and true washing method come from.

Seriously, the stitching, wallet layout and concho are just awesome. What a cool wallet.
