  1. ^^ thanks. Preliminary soak results... my brother is kinda bummed with his fit. A little too baggy in the thighs and leg for him; so into the tub they go again for another soak... I put my legs in to try and shrink them a bit more as well. I hope he ends up liking the fit... I'll be bummed if he not happy.

  2. Gave my Denime 66XX another machine wash. It really compounded the damage done by the already weakened cotton thread and these jeans are in need of serious crotch, back pocket and other small repairs. My Warehouse 660s seem to have held up better than these.

Anyway, I really dig the Denime denim - it has a ton of character and lots of subtle blues. Check out the gallery in my sig for more overexposed direct sunlight shots :(

  3. Again, sweet pics Aho. The contrast on those jeans looks really nice.

I'm pretty sure I can see my apartment from your skyline picture, but the harbor is throwing me off... can't tell which it is. You were super close to me on Broadway when you had Joy's though! Haven't been there in a minute, but on a similar note, I found a good Thai place last night - New Thai Kitchen on Irving Park., check 'em out if you ever in the mood.

  4. Yeah, that's about as straightforward as it gets. I use Google Chrome to view their page and blog because it offers an automatic translation feature, but for any questions just send them an e-mail. They usually get back to you in a few days.

  5. xpost because I fell in love with the 660s again

Warehouse x sufu #175 @ a long time and some washes. I got heavily rained on the other day and had to slap these on as back-ups until my others dried. I forgot how comfortable they were and fell in love with them again as soon as I put them on. I even wore them to work today.

Since the end of the contest I think they have been washed once or twice. They still see use once in a while for working around the house and general hanging out. They even hiked the Grand Canyon in March. I think I’ll be wearing them a lot more until my Ooes come in.

  7. Nice pics and story - good to see another Chicago denim head :)

I got caught up in that storm last night as well. As soon as I got off the bus to head home I was completely drenched head to toe, like I had just taken a shower fully clothed. It seriously happened in a second. Ran all the way home.

On the plus side, my Denimes' got a "soak" and I rediscovered how comfortable my 660s are!

  8. nah, he got the pockets lined too, see: "Same thread, crotch rivet, tabs labels and pocket options as above"

Anyone ever seen a pair of jeans made with #32? The sample looked really dark, to me the darkest of the ones I received (41.12. 84, 32, 43, 35, 47, 44, 17, 57). I've looked on the Ooe blog and gallery but I don't think I saw a pair with 32. That's kind of exciting. The broken twill #44 looks great too, but it's a sin to get the same denim as your bro.

  9. When one works hard, they can enjoy an annual denim purchase once in a while.

edit: and yeah, while the final price is rather high, my brother and I have had this planned for over a year know and we knew exactly what we were getting into. For the service, quality and artistry involved the price, to me, is well worth it.

  10. ^^ the charts do seem accurate from my e-mails with the guys. If you've got your measurements, send them an- email and ask.

My brother and I have just put in the final order for our customized pairs of 01XX. Ryo & Hiro are super awesome guys and are very willing to answer every question and make the jeans exactly how we'd like. It took a little over 2 weeks and about 8 emails to ask questions, get denim samples flown to Chicago and the order finalized. I'm very excited for the final product now. As an example of just how much you can customize, I will share our orders and pricing details:

My details: 01XX cut, #32 denim "unsanforized right hand twill Selvage denim 13.5-14oz pink line(side yarn: brown)"

    Cotton/poly thread throughout

    Crotch rivet

    Red OOE tailor tab

OOE brand tag om inside waist

    random flannel pocket bags

    canvas/duck fully lined rear pockets

    plain black/copper doughnut fly

    gold laurel donut top button

    copper UFO/OOE rivets

    Base Price ; 21,000 yen

    additional customizations ; 4,620 yen

    My brother's details

01XX cut, #44 denim "unsanforized broken twill Selvage denim 13.5-14oz red line(side yarn: brown)"

Same thread, crotch rivet, tabs labels and pocket options as above ^^

alternating plain black donut with plain gold donut fly

    Black/Black laurel donut top button

    Custom back pocket stitching

    Base Price ; 21,000 yen

    additional customizations ; 5,460 yen

So, all in all I think that's pretty reasonable for the service they provide. Can't wait to see the end results, the fabrics we chose look really great! If anyone is on the fence about working with these guys, I recommend it. Just remember that it's two guys cutting, sewing, shipping and answering emails so they can't be at your beck and call 24/7. It's all about the journey!

  11. Thanks to haptronic, I've got my old account back after a long hiatus away from superfuture. Lost my old posts and such, but here's to a new beginning!

Here are some Denime 66xx @ about 13 months, around 3 washes/dries in the machine so far. They've shrunk, or I've gotten fatter so they are soon to be retired. I know I need some better pictures of these but I was excited to be back and had to share these shots. Check the Picasa link in my sig for a few more shots.

My brother and I have custom pairs of 01XX Ooe Yofukuten coming soon and I hope to keep you all updated on those as well.
